Yulia looked up as Rowan came back into the room, dismay written all over her face.
“Was it him?” she asked, wondering what had happened to make her look like that. She wasn’t really sure what was going on with Rowan and her boyfriend, but something certainly seemed fishy. Rowan had told her that he had been present at the police raid at the docks, searching for her after she was taken and that he had been arrested at the scene.
“No, it was his brother. I’m meeting him tomorrow to get some of my things from him.” Rowan didn’t look particularly pleased about this, making Yulia suspicious.
“Oh, that’s strange. Why has he not called you?” Yulia wondered. According to Rowan they were very much in love and he was a hero for finding them; why wasn’t he the one calling?
