HIS HIGHNESS

CHAPTER 2

The following day, I woke up quite early not normally the time I do,reason being was that someone had opened the curtains in my room and the sun rays shined down on my face.

"Wakey, wakey" the voice came, I knew it was my mom because she had a habit of ruining my sleep, I opened my eyes and shifted my gaze away from the light.

"Good morning, Mom, I greeted".

"How was your sleep, she asked.

I looked at her and said ironically perfect, she just smiled and said, come on downstairs for breakfast. I freshened up , brushed my teeth and came down.

" what are we having, I asked ,

"Toasted bread with scrambled eggs".

" Mmmm,sounds delicious ". After breakfast, I sat down with her in the sitting room and asked her" Mom, is anything wrong",

"No darling, all is well",

"Then why are you here unexpectedly without informing me or letting me know",

" I'm sorry, I just wanted to surprise you and also I missed you".

"OK, so how is work",

" its been good ,just the same always ",

" So,when is your next contract ",

" I don't know yet,you know what, let's keep work aside ,I want you to come with me to a party, quiet, grand and royal with exotic people in it,you could make friends you know.

"There ,she finally spilled the beans,I smiled and asked her when?,

" Today by 8pm",

"What!, I exclaimed, that's so sudden, Mom you know I hate party's like this and you didn't tell me on time to get ready",

" I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to surprise you but please do agree,I did be willing to kneel for you and she made to do it and I intervened.

"Mom,pls stop,I will go", I replied and she smiled, our attention went back to the movie though I was trying to figure what I had just gotten myself involved in when a knock came. Mom said she she will get it and I drifted my mind to the door and the unexpected visitor. Soon I heard my mom laughing and I heard a voice that sounded familiar," Hamila, guess who is here?, kiara, "she said", I stood up and hugged her, kiara was my best friend, I knew her since high school, she was smarter than me, she has blonde hair, light brown eyes,pink lips,fair in complexion and had a very good body shape, she was the only one whom she told about her health and trusted to keep it a secret, (apart from her mom).

" kiara, what brings you here?"I asked surprised,

"I missed you,so if you are free would you mind going out for some coffee at the cafe shop so as to catch up like old times",

" Sure, no problem,let's go, I said" that was a relief ,I needed space and here was an option to leave the house and I wouldn't miss it. I baded goodbye to my mom and left with her. Few minutes later, we arrived at the cafe, bought some snacks and coffee and headed out to sit in the lounge,After a while, someone walked up to us and say"hey ladies,mind if I sit?", I raised my head and saw the figure,it was a guy ,the same guy from the club,

"Hi",kiara said and waved,he smiled and moved his gaze to me,

"So we meet again", I just looked up and gave a sarcastic smile.

" Do you know each other?",kiara asked a little confused,

"Maybe,maybe not" I replied,

"Mind if I sit?",he persisted,

"If it suits you", I said bluntly .

He sat and introduced himself, kiara did the same ,both myself and herself. After about an hr wasted, I suggested we head to the park,kiara agreed and gestured Dave to join us which he willingly agreed.

At the park,I watched the children play and it reminded me of myself. Well Dave on the other hand was not all that bad,he was really nice and jovial,I guess the few minutes/hours I spent with him made me realize that. As we sat together on the bench watching the kids play, kiara felt tasty and left to quench her thirst,leaving Dave and I alone , As we sat alone and together, their was an awkward silence till I decided to break it.

" So now you know my name " I stated,

"It suits you", he said and I smiled.

" Umm, Dave am sorry for behavior towards you the first time we met,I'm not usually kin with guys,So...., she was cut short by Dave who told her not to worry, that she did the right and he respects her for it,no girl has ever challenged me the way you did,so I'm glad. So maybe we can start over,he added.

"Sure" I replied,

"I'm Dave, and you are?",

" Hamila,lovely meeting you Dave"

"Me too,can we be friends", he stated seriously but with a smile,

" That's so sudden, we only just met but it won't hurt to try "I added with a smile,

" So its a yes?",

"Its a yes" and we shaked our hands and laughed, kiara came back and saw us smiling,

"So ,what did I miss?"she had asked surprised,

" Not much "I said,

" We are friends now"Dave said,

"So does that makes me your friends too" kiara asked,

"Of course and even if I weren't friends with Hamila, we will still be friends" he said smiling,

"Hey,that's not fair" I jokingly added and kiara and Dave just laughed.

I guess Dave was really nice and fun to be around, I soon took notice of his handsomeness, though it was not consciously and kiara had complimented him a lot about his beauty to me(not him), so i decided to take notice and find out.

He was really cute,had blonde hair,long eyebrows,a straight nose,pink lips and light brown eyes,fair toning skin and had a very good manly shape.

Well after staying a while about 2hrs in the park,we went home,Dave had gestured to drop us home but I personally turned the idea down politely.

Back home,kiara couldn't believe her eyes when she entered my room,my room looked as if fashion faires threw up in it,I went to my mom's room and I was speechless, hers was worst than mine.

"Hey girls,you are back?",

" Yes ma'am "kiara replied,

" Mom what happened? ",

" Oh,I was looking for a suitable cloth for you for the party and I think I found the right one",

"Umm ma'am ,mind if I come along",

" Yes mom,she can right? ",

" No,this is just about us(mom and daughter's night), no offense kiara",

"Non taken"she said but I knew she was hurt but managed to put up a smile.

" I hope you understand why you can't come"mom added,

"Yes I do", she smiled.

I wasn't really happy, if I was going to dress up like a princess for the first time,I needed my best friend by my side.

About an hr ago, I felt excited and scared but now I didn't want to go, I was like a baby bird learning how to fly,it took me and my mom 4hrs to dress and by that I mean (1:30 for me and 2:30 for her).

I looked totally different, I didn't recognize myself, my hair was parked up straight and curled at the tip,I had a light makeup on and my fair skin shone brightly, the colour tone of the eye shadow reflected with my blue eyes and my rosy lips shimmered just at the apply of a lip gloss, the gown was spectacular, a red long sleeve gown with silver designs as petals on it, I wore it with a ruby necklace and earing and a pair of matching red shoes with a silver purse to go with it, I looked stunning if I say so myself, kiara and mom praised me,Mom was also looking beautiful, she wore a purple gown with matching earing and necklace and pair of black heels to go with it.

Kiara offered to help us tidy the house, so as not to be late,mom was grateful to her for her help,I felt sad but I couldn't beg my mom anymore because ones her mind was made up, you can't change it. We got into a black limo and left, around 8:10pm we arrived, the place was beautiful and luxurious, it looked as if it was built with gold as its glasses, its beauty was beyond imagination, people who went in looked like kings and Queens.

It was more than exotic like mom said,it was grand and looked liked a royal palace.

I got to the stairs with my mom and the man right next to us announced our names and we walked majestically down the stairs, one look at the guests, you did know that they were all influential and powerful ones present at the party, I felt like the ground should open up and swallow me as I noticed some of the men's eyes were on me.

My mom introduced me to her friends and some of them were stunned by my beauty.

"I never knew you had such a beautiful daughter" one of them commented, mom just smiled. One of my mom's friends had also brought her daughter too, her name was liya, for a girl of 16yrs ,she reminded me less of myself, she had no respect and was quite rude and looked down on everybody as if they were nothing and though I had a very good teen life,I never behaved in that manner. After standing for a while, I got bored listening to their non stop discussion about politics but at least I had gotten the information that I was in an actual palace, what the heck, anyways, I decided to take a walk, I told mom and left ,I walked for a while and thought to myself, if this was an actual palace, it must surely have a garden but how to find it, an idea came to me,I decided to ask one of the servants and she said the garden was on the left side of the building and no one enters there except for the royal family and the gardener, I thanked her but paid no attention to her warnings beside it was a party, I finally got to the door, opened it and went in.

The garden was extremely beautiful and had a pleasant scent, I twirled around and was about to get hold of myself when I bumped into someone, I fell but he didn't even move an inch, I expected him to help me up but he didn't, I stood up and made to talk when he walked towards me and asked me what I was doing here and didn't I know the rules,I was expecting an apology and here he was shouting at me,I made to talk but I just stared at him though I couldn't see his face,the light reflected on mine, I managed to say that's not an impressive and nice way to talk to a girl, he came closer to me and I shifted back and he came into the light, I was shocked by his appearance, I was dumfounded, for the first time ,I noticed the beauty of a guy,he looked like a demigod, no, an Angel in the form of a human, I was dumbstruck by his looks, his shiny black hair reached his shoulders, his fair toning skin,brown eyebrows(long),grey eyes,straight nose ,red lips, a very nice jawline traced down to his neck and had a wonderful manly features even with his clothes on,I could see his bisects and the moon made him despicable and his strong aura and scent of almond flower when touched, he was enchanting and really attractive, it took me two blinks to come back to my senses, I managed to become conscious of myself before he said to me,

"Do you know the penalty of what you are doing?",

" You bumped into me,no doubt and you are yelling at me, you know what keep the garden to yourself ,am leaving "he drew me to himself and stared directly at me,his aura was strong and deadly, I hesitated a little before freeing myself out of his hold and left.

After I had gotten to where mom was, I was a little bit angry but soon waved it off,about 20mins later,they gave an announcement, introducing the Royal family, the King and Queen of Persia and the Crowned Prince, I was shocked, it was him the guy from the garden, I had just had an issue with his highness,you know what it means, death penalty, I felt like shouting, I breathed out and went to get a drink when they announced that it was time to dance (ballroom), a man dressed in red suit gestured me to a dance,I tried explaining that I was not really a good dancer but he said,

" Nonsense!, a beautiful girl like you, I'm sure can dance really well,before I could say a word ,I was already at the dance floor,I wasn't really a good dancer since I never attended parties in school and homes and also had no dad to teach me how to dance and mom,well she was always busy, I matched him severely and apologized, he couldn't take it any longer and left me standing in the middle of the dance floor, I moved from side to side trying to avoid bumping into the other dancer until the females twirled and I ended up twirling too,all I know I lost balance but landed on someone's shoulders ,I looked up and to my greatest surprise, it was him,he smirked at me and drew me closer and we glided through the room, he said no word and this made me annoyed,wasn't he going to ask me about what in the garden, how I ended up with him ,I had no idea. All I can say is that I gave him hell, I had at least given him 7 steps on his foot and he still managed to keep still, I wasn't doing it intentionally but I wasn't going to apologize either, at the eighth time he made to talk and the dance ended, I left him with just one sentence,

"Thanks for the dance", and headed to where mom sat and smiled at him,he adjusted the jacket of his suit and left,okay now I'm having fun, I thought he might call the guards on me but he didn't, I guess childish thought right, hours passed by and at last,it was over, I didn't see him again after the dance ended.

At least the party was over, time to go around 12:00 midnight, I was very tired and as we baded goodbye to mom's friends, we made for the stairs into the limo. Once in the limo,my mom asked me if I had fun and I just smiled and said it was thrilling.

When we got home,kiara was up watching a movie, she welcomed us home warmly, I was so tired, I headed straight to my room to freshen up and I felt really lit up after a bath. I got into my pyjamas and laid on the bed. Mom was right I did enjoy it, maybe I did meet him again, who knows,kiara came into my room and asked me how it went, I laughed and explained all that happened tonight to her,

" I guess you really had fun tonight "she asked smiling.

" Yeah, but is time to sleep ", I said and yawned,

" I should leave you to sleep ",she said,

After talking to her, I felt happy, I closed my eyes and smiled, I was so exhausted and in a sec I was asleep. This was the best night of my life.
