NIKITA One man stood out from the rest of them. Not just because he was clearly their leader, but his 6ft 5ish frame cut an impressive figure of authority. Even in the distance I could sense the power radiating off him. My feet stood locked in position, petrified, unable to move, unable to think, unable to breathe. Our worst nightmare Obsidian Blood Pack had finally found us. Ryker roughly pulled me into a small bush shocking my body into moving again. My eyes roamed over the man. He stood facing the pack house, his shoulders relaxed, giving an aura of dominance and of arrogance too. Intricate ink patterns snaked along his muscular arms that bulged against his tight black tee. He looked to be about mid 20's. "Why are all the bad boys sexy" I thought continuing to perv, my wolf half purred, half whimpered still in pain from the high pitched noise ringing in our ears. It was coming from a device on the ground near one of the soldiers. Just then my attention was drawn to the pack house. The front door burst open revealing a beaten and bloody Alpha and Luna. My parents were uncermoniously tossed onto the ground in front of the huge leader followed by at least a dozen equally beaten and bloody warriors from Obsidian Blood pack. "I'm semi impressed Alpha Cairo" the leader's voice came out deep with a gravely tone making it sound deliciously husky, the sound washed over me tingling down my spine. "Not only have you been able to evade my father, King Marcus all these years, you've also managed to inflict injuries on some of my best warriors." His father the king? That means he must be... the Alpha Prince Caleb. "f**k" I thought. I had heard terrifying things about the Prince and that he was a close replica of evil incarnate. "You are indeed a strong Alpha it's such a shame you chose to defy rather than join us." My father, Alpha Cairo's eyes blazed, glaring at the man with such force as if trying to conjure daggers. He spat fresh blood onto the pavement at the Prince's feet. The Prince continued unphased, "The way I see it Cairo, you have two choices. One; have your pack bow to our King. He may even be merciful if you join us willingly. Or two; Resist. You and your pack will die a painful death and we still will rule." "You vile piece of sh..." He was silenced by an electrical current running through what appeared to be a dog collar around his neck. I gasped seeing my father chained like an animal, his muscles twisting awkwardly from the electrocution. "Did you know silver has one of the highest electrical conductivity of all metals. So not only are you burned by the silver collar but weakens you enough to get the full shock of 50,000 volts directly to that weak spot. Should we try this again Cairo?" "Fuck....you" my father gasped out through gritted teeth. I take back what I said before about bad boys being sexy this one was no longer sexy he was just a bad person, right to the very core. Another shock crumpled Dad to the ground. A silent tear slid down my face and my heart ached. Ryker tensed beside me. there was nothing anyone could do, to retaliate. My pack were on their knees forced there by the army of invaders using their cheap tricks to subdue our best warriors. I tried my best to breathe. "I will kill you and send you back to hell where you belong." There was a pause while the Prince stared at Cairo. "I dont think you're listening " Prince Caleb took the device that was connected to the silver collar from the warrior and pressed the button again. Instantly there was a scream of pain but it wasn't coming from my father this time it was my mother. Gripping Ryker's hand, a heavy weight forming in my chest, one of dread and fear. Gasps and cries came from the pack members. We were too out numbered and unprepared to fight back it would be a m******e. "Oops wrong collar." And he pressed it again jolting my mother one more time. "Alpha Cairo please stop this... please!" The plead came from Uncle Nathaniel his face was contorted with pain "we have no choice we must surrender. Maybe they will let us live, maybe you will only be imprisoned or punished. PLEASE brother, your death will be pointless and we cannot defeat them like this. I will take over as Alpha and try to protect the pack. Think of ...... the special people you love and need to protect." The Prince stood there waiting patiently like he had all the time in the world. My father gave a small defeated nod. No doubt Beta Nathaniel's choice of "special people" was meant about me. "I am Beta Nathaniel. If you swear in a blood oath Alpha Cairo will not be killed and our pack will join you willingly. If not we will die fighting right here and now." he stated A bored look crossed the prince's face. Our pack was nothing but a bug under shoe that he wanted to squash. A thorn constantly in the side of King Marcus's reign, we were part of the resistance. "Alpha Cairo did you hear that. A trade you imprisoned for the pack's compliance. Do you agree" my father sighed heavily before nodding. Biting into his hand he let the blood drop onto the already bloody pavement as the Prince did the same. "The words Cairo." "I Alpha Cairo, relinquish my title and surrender to Obsidian Blood Pack." "I will try my best to keep us all safe." Uncle Nathaniel reassured my dad. "This is the only way." Nathaniel placed his forehead against my father's. He loved the people of this pack. Many would say that decision was cowardice, that we should fight with honour and die with pride. My father has known war and we are outnumbered, the men will be slaughtered, women and children will still be forced under Obsidian Blood rule. He would rather sacrifice himself than see that kind of bloodshed. "Good decision" the Prince curtly nodded. My father was roughly forced to his feet and taken toward one of the trucks. "Oh and Cairo now that your pack is under my rule, I will be taking what I truly came for." The prince turned to stare Alpha Cairo straight in the eyes. A devilish smirk crossing his mouth satisfied with the reaction. "The Blessed Wolf." The Alpha and Beta growled at what he meant. My mom sharply inhaled, fear danced in her eyes. "No!" she cried The prince turned sharply to the Luna who remained kneeling on the ground. "Ah, so it was you whom the Goddess blessed with a special child, Luna Ellenor." He grabbed Mom's jaw tight and brought her face close his. How did he know about me. I thought. My parents did their best trying to hide me. A powerful snarl came from Cairo "let go of my mate, I will kill you boy!" His voice loud and full of command. The Prince appeared unphased and kept hold of the Luna. My heart broke seeing my strong and loving parents like this. "Please...Please don't hurt her, she is an innocent child." Luna Ellenor begged. "Her?" He chuckled low and husky. "The moon's blessed wolf is a girl? All this time my father has been afraid of a pathetic little girl." I could hear the amusent in his tone. What an asshole. He studied Mom's face for a quick second. "I guess if she looks like you I may need to play with my prey in a few ways first before killing her" As the words left his mouth, Cairo's anger flared, his Alpha status my have been lost when he gave up his title but the strength still exuded from every pore, ripping free of the soldier's grip of the silver chain, claws extended he slashed at the Prince. Prince Caleb was too fast dodging and throwing my mother in one fluid move. Two of his warriors caught her digging a syringe filled with a cloudy violet liquid into her neck, her knees collapsed under her weight, unconscious or dead, I couldn't tell. This only enraged Cairo more, his moves were powerful and skilled but Caleb expertly blocked each blow. I could see the fatigue in my father's attacks from the previous fighting and electrocution. Each attack becoming wild and desperate. Caleb took his chance and began to connect blow by blow, blood gushed from Dad's nose. He did a quick manoevre flipping Cairo onto his back, head slamming to the ground in a sickening crack, claws extended digging into his chest over Cairo's heart. The monster was going to rip it out right in front of our eyes. Snatching my arm away from Ryker's grip before I could even think. Bursting out of the bushes, a noise erupted out of my core, something that come from a place deep inside were human and beast meet, a howl/growl/scream was all that could explain it. The sound was so powerful it vibrated the ground beneath us. The amplifier sitting on the ground blew it's speakers. I felt my body half connect with my wolf, claws and teeth elongated, I couldn't see my reflection but knew my eyes were pure white and the wind swirled around me. I could sense the aura's around each wolf and felt as if I had the power to control each and every one of them. Channelling the wind that blustered around me then forced it toward the enemy with such ferocity unbalancing the warriors. The shock of my entrance stopping the Prince before he could rip out my father's heart. CALEB As we drove toward Moonstone pack, my wolf began to pace and huff in my mind. It was irritating, considering we had taken over many packs even other species before and he never behaved like this. "What is it with you? You're driving me nuts" I spoke in my consciousness to my wolf. I felt uncomfortable in my own skin. "You alright Big D" my Beta Hendix mind linked me. He thinks he's f*****g funny when he calls me that. When we first shifted he saw my wolf and told me I looked like a big demon wolf. Which he shortened to Big D. He is the only one I would ever let call me something other than Alpha, Prince or Caleb. "I don't know, my wolf is restless. Like I've forgotten or lost something and I can't remember what it was or where I lost it. I'm uncomfortable, irritated and jittery. Something doesn't feel right" "Do you think it's a trap set by our informant?" "No, but that is why we are are here a few days early, the element of surprise has worked in the past. I think the informant wants our agreement to succeed so I believe he won't double cross us but I still don't fully trust him." "We are almost there can you try and settle. The others will start to sense your mood soon and it isn't good if our Alpha is nervous." My wolf huffed back at me and snarled. He is always cranky and bitter, hating people and other wolves. His pelt suits him pure black like his soul always alone in the darkness. I pushed his consciousness to the far corner of my mind I could not have him jeopardize my mission with his attitude today. Things were going well so far we had made it through the mirage just how our informant had said. The weapons we carried were far more advanced than anything Moonstone pack had to counter-attack. This pack were still fierce warriors even if they looked more like farmers at the moment. Like I said we had the element of surprised and it was working. Cairo finally agreed to be taken prisoner, but I still had to weed out the truth of the blessed wolf. If it was here at Moonstone. The Luna's sharp inhale and erratic heartbeat exposed the truth, they were hiding the blessed child. The Alpha's child. As I closed the distance between the Luna and me, my wolf resurfaced pacing frantically. Focussed on the Luna, she smelt and looked quite pretty. If she wasn't mated I wouldn't mind trying my luck with an older she-wolf, I bet she was fine in her youth. There was something else about her though that intrigued me, now that I looked into her eyes I didn't want to hurt her, something inside urged me to protect her, she was important. As she begged for the mercy of her child she said not to hurt 'her' so this miracle wolf was a girl. I almost laughed out loud thinking about how obsessed with the 'Goddess blessed wolf' my father was and went on and on about. It was nothing more than a pathetic little girl. I probably shouldn't have pushed Cairo with my words it was to easy to toy with him. He was a f*****g good fighter, I was lucky he had been weakened by fighting with my warriors and the silver electric chain or he would have got me a few times. His strength waned and I took my moment for offense and threw him to the ground my claws piercing his chest ready to rip out his heart. I would normally make my kill swift but the blood oath stopped me thankfully that moment of hesitation was enough for the blessed wolf to make her presence known. A powerful sound, raw with pain and strength erupted as if from the earth itself. Whipping my head in the direction of the sound. Defensively preparing to fight, not knowing what this creation is capable of. A child that cursed my family with its mere existence I was prepared to kill her. My eyes widened in surprise at seeing the small figure that produced such a powerful commanding sound. A petite teenage girl stood with her claws bared ready to slice. Strong wind arose out of nowhere forcing wisps of her hair to fly around her. She looked like a fiery angel. With the sun at her back I couldn't determine her features, but the halo of golden, red light made her appear like she was radiating a light to set fire to the world, a light to break through the darkest nights and held the power to do so. The wind rushed towards us knocking down some of my warriors. It was then that I was hit with the most intoxicating smell. The smell of citrus and vanilla hit me like a delicious spring morning. As if her scent wrapped me in a warmth that could protect you from the harshest, coldest winter. Her flaming hair just like the man lying beneath me with my claws embedded in his chest. Then one word came to mind, one that I thought my wolf would never use. "Mate" My wolf howled internally she just became his most delicious prey that he intended to hunt for all the pleasures he wants. I knew then this complicated my entire life mission. "f**k"
