Lina paced in her bedroom, her courage leaving her. She hadn’t heard from Lucas since he boarded his jet from Athens. She tried calling him but could not reach him.
She worked hard to dodge her parents' questioning glances while she tried to get in touch with Lucas, but it was fruitless.
"Um, Mom, Dad, I know it's concerning, but something must've delayed Lucas. He's not usually unreachable like this." She tried to ease the awkward atmosphere.
"But dear, it's been hours. Are you sure everything's alright?" Her mother sounded worried.
"I... I'm not sure, Mom. Maybe something important caught him up as soon as he arrived in Rhodes. I've told you before, his schedule can be pretty hectic sometimes."
"Hmm, alright. Just keep us updated, okay?" Her father patted her shoulder to ease her
