Chapter Five

The Hunter’s Academy

Jennifer arrives at the Academy leaping looking all beaten up. She goes straight to the Control Room, She reaches at the door of the Control Room; she reaches in her pants'pocket and grabs a key card that has identity on it, she swaps at the scanner that's located at the right side of the door and the door opens.

Inside the Control Room is a group of people operating different computers each individual with is own task. Everyone is busy with they work as they talk to the hunters on mission as Jennifer passes through going direct to Mark.

“Hey Mark.” Jennifer says as she reaches at Mark’s station who is playing video games on his computer, but her voice startles him a bit causing him to turn off his monitor quickly as he turns around...

“Oh heeeeey….what happened to you?” he says as he sees Jennifer's wounds from her fight earlier.

“Nothing important really”

“It doesn’t look like nothing to me.” Mark told her, mark has always been a good friend to Jennifer at academy apart from being her handler.

“I need your help with something?”

“I will say, you look like you need help going to the hospital.”

“Please it’s really important.”

“Sure thing, what is it?”

“Can you search for me a person named Kira Pain?”

“Let me see what I can do.” He responds and he turns and turns on his monitor and starts searching for information about Kira Pain. “So what’s up with this same person?”

“Well that’s what I am trying to find out.”

“And there we go.” He manages to pull up any information he can find about Kira Pain on his computer. He shows it to Jennifer who starts to going through it together with Mark...

“Can you pin it down to three months ago?”

“Sure thing” He operates his computer and within seconds he manages to pin it down to three months ago. “There you go pinned from three months ago.” He says as he shows her.

“Thank you.” She starts scrolling through the files with the help of Mark, as they are scrolling through the files, they come across a video footage in one of her files. “Hey can you play this video please.” She tells Mark

“Yes.” He clicks on the footage and it starts playing, it turns out to be a footage from the night Kira went missing.

Video;

Kira and the bad-tender come out from the back door of Club 24, and they both look wasted and they are laughing hard. As they come out of the club and just stop after they take a few steps…

“Whose there?” the bar-tender called out but they is no answer and him and Kira just start laughing.

“They is no there.” Kira says as she laughs and the bar-tender laughs along with her, as they both leaning on each other…

All of the sudden the footage just stops playing as if it was tempered with.

“That’s it?” Jennifer asked not being certified by the video's sudden end.

“I guess someone tempered with the video.” Mark responded as he starting typing something on his computer to see what’s wrong.

“How, isn’t this in our servers?”

“Yes it is.”

“Then who can have tempered with the video?”

“That’s what I am also wondering.” He says as he keeps on typing codes on his computer.

“Can you recover it?”

“That is what I am trying to do right now.” He says as he continues typing codes

“How long will it take you to recover the video?”

“I am almost done.” He says and he finishes typing his codes and the video is restored from the point it was tempered with and they continue watching it.

“Nice job.”

“Piece of cake” Mark responded, for he is one of the best computer geniuses.

The Video;

As Kira and the bar-tender are laughing while leaning on each other, the bar-tender reveals an syringe and injects it into Kira's neck and she goes unconscious in his arms.

After the bar-tender injects Kira and passes out in his arms, a closed van comes and Park's in front of them and a Man comes out with three men other men. The three men and the bar-tender carries Kira into the closed van with them but the Man remains outside as they lock the door, he seems to be waiting for something...

“What is going on here?” Mark asked Jennifer

“I don’t know but can you run a facial recognition on this guy?”

“Sure thing” Mark responded and he puases the video as he opens another tab on his computer and starts running a facial recognition on the guy. After a few seconds his details pop up on the screen with his face on the side reading...

Name: Kenny Benisi

Age: unknown

Species type: Vampire

Status: wanted for mass murder

As there read this message Mark seems to be shocked to see that the guy is a vampire. Because this Control Room is for the ordinary hunters, so no one down here knows about the existence of supernatural beings...

“Does that read vampire!” he says it in a loud voice but Jennifer shuts him down as she covered his mouth.

“shhhh…no one here is supposed to that?” Jennifer said and she slowly removes her hand from his mouth

He looks at his colleagues and almost everyone is looking at them “what? Have you never played vampire hunt, the game.” Mark said to his colleagues as they looked at him and Jennifer “get back to work.”

They all go back to their various work and Mark and Jennifer gets back to their research...

“So this is what you do now, hunting down vampires. I didn't know that the academy also did that?” Mark asked Jennifer in a whisper

“Not just vampires other supernatural beings too”

“Wow that’s cool.”

“Trust me it’s not there are not like they are presented on Tv.”

“That’s still cool that you get to meet real life supernatural beings.”

“Okay it is a little bit cool, but can we please finish the video?”

“Sure thing” he plays the video again

The Video;

As Kenny stands there, in a short period he is joined by Robert it turns out he is the guy Kenny was waiting for.

“Are you sure this will work?” Robert asked Kenny

“Am sure of it” Kenny replies

“I want them to come back here.”

“For her, they will go anywhere you tell them to go to.”

“Good, handle her and I will handle them.”

“Sure, just don’t forget what you promised me.”

“Trust me I never forget a promise.”

After this they shake hands and they both go they separate ways.

“What the hack is going Jennifer?” Mark asked as they were both shocked by the fact that Robert they deputy General is working with the enemy.

“I really don’t know.”

“Is this want happens up there you start negotiating with enemies?” mark said “because am assuming if you hunt down supernatural beings and based on this man’s bio he is a killer and that makes him our enemy right?”

“Yes it does.”

“Then what is Robert doing negotiating with him?”

“That’s what am about to find out.”

“What are you going to do?”

“Ask him what the hell is going on.” Jennifer replied “can you send all this to me.”

“Sure thing” He says and operates his computer sending everything to Jennifer who receives them on her phone.

“Thank you Mark”

“You are welcome”

“And please don’t tell anyone about this, that's if you what to be safe okay?”

“My mouth is officially zipped.” He says as he makes an idiosyncrasy of zipping his mouth. And Jennifer heads out of the Control Room leaving Mark who watches her leave before he turns back to his computer.

Jennifer leaves the research room and goes direct to the Deputy General’s office. She burst direct into his office without knocking, finding him seated on his desk.

She walks over to him and... “what the hell is this?” she said all angrily as she showed him the video on her phone, the part when he was talking to Kenny.

He takes a look and almost immediately he moves and goes to close the door to his office which Jennifer just burst through without closing it. “Where did you get that?” he ask her as he closes the door and heads back to his desk.

“That is not important; I want to know what the hell is going on here?”

“You won’t understand.”

“Then make me understand, why the people this academy is so afraid of to be in this town, were brought here by your doing?”

“Because I want to kill them all off them” He says this as he sits in his chair.

“What do you mean by all of them?”

“I mean I want to kill all supernatural beings.”

“Why, am assuming not everyone of them is bad.”

“They is no such a thing as an innocent supernatural being.”

“I find that hard to believe.”

“And what will you know about that you just newbie to this.”

“But I still know better than to sacrifice my colleagues to fulfill my own selfish ambitions.”

“Well it’s for a noble sacrifice, to bring about a better life.”

“This town is in danger because of you, thousands of people will die and that doesn’t bother you?”

“As long as all supernatural beings live then those people will never truly be safe.”

“You are a monster.”

“Oh am the monster, or have you forgotten that this are the same people who killed you father?”

“Don’t give me that crap, if my father was still in charge he wouldn’t put innocent lives in danger just to fulfill his own vengeance.”

“Then it is good that he is not here now huh?”

“He may not be here but I am.”

“What are you going to do Jennifer?”

“Am going to expose you, am taking this information to the head commissioners.” She said and grabbed her and starts heading out of the office.

“Don’t do that Jennifer.” He says as stands up knowing that if this reaches the head commissioners he will be removed from his position. The head commissioner’s council is made up of all the five generals of all the five (5) hunter academies.

She stops at the door as he says these words, “watch me” she says and leaves the office and Robert just watches her leave.

Jennifer is walking in the Academy’s hallway, she looks upset and angrily at the information she has just received about Robert using them like pons in a chess game, and also the pending demise of the town by the hands of Peter and Jack.

“Attention every hunter in the academy, stop Jennifer Chinga for she has going rogue by killing her partner Danny and 8 either hunters.” Robert announced through the academy speakers that broadcast to entire building of the Hunter Academy. “So bring her down at all means, either alive or dead for this is a code red.”

After he says this, the sirens in the build start sounding and the all academy goes on lock down and she is trapped inside. As she moving she runs into two guards.

“There she is?” one of the guards shouts as they start charging up towards her. As they reach where she is, she takes them both down easily using her martial Art skills.

After knocking out the two guards, she starts looking for a way out of the academy by going around every place in the academy that she could think of, but all the exist have been locked down.

All the hunters in the building are looking for Jennifer, but she keeps dodging them at every chance she gets or anytime they try to catch her. Dodging them won’t save her forever, for she has to figure out the way out of this death building.

As she is searching for a way out she runs into Mark as he is moving in the hallway alone. And immediately they met she grabbed his arm twisted it to the point of breaking it when…

“Wait I am here to help you” he screams in pain

“And why should I trust you?”

“Because we are friends and I know you incapable of doing what you are being accused of.”

She let’s go of his hand and he stands up straight as he stretches his arm Jennifer just twisted.

“So how do you suggest I get out of here because every exist is either guarded or locked down?”

“Not every exist, there is a secret passage in the basement behind the cooler just enter into the large pipe it will lead you right outside.”

“You are sure of this?”

“Have I ever been wrong before in my work?”

“No.”

“Then you better start moving before they find us here and they also take my head.”

“Okay thank you” she says as she leaves him and starts heading straight to the basement.

She starts approaching the corner to the basement, she moves against the wall slowly and she peeps at the edge of the corner as she reaches the corner. She sees two guards standing there guarding the door to the basement.

But seeing that she was stronger than the guards she could take them both down, unless if it was other hunters or a special hunter then she wouldn’t have stood a chance in her condition.

She comes out charging at them, as the two guards sees her they immediately reaches for they guns but before they could grab them she knocks them both out.

She tries to open the door but it’s locked. She grabs a gun from the guards and shots the handle and it opens and she goes inside.

As soon as she enters the basement, another Hunter appears from the same corner she just came from. He is putting a black leather jacket like every hunter does and he is physically strong with muscles, obviously goes to the gym more often.

He sees the guards lying unconscious on the floor and the door to the basement is open, he rushes to the basement and goes inside too. As he enters the basement he immediately spots Jennifer near the cooler and immediately shots at her.

But Jennifer sees him, she shots back at him and as he ducks down she immediately jumps into the large pipe. The hunter gets up and finds Jennifer is around gone.
