Chapter Two

ONE YEAR LATER - ORIAL CITY TOWN SQUARE

Orial City, a town I hate and despite the most, Jack thought to himself, too many bad memories here that I would rather let them remain forgotten. One step in this city's town and I am brought to those dreadful days of my life.

Jack and Peter arrive in the Orial City town square in a black SUV. Peter his driving while Jack looks outside the window viewing the buildings as they pass over.

Jack continues thinking;

But there nothing I can do I am supposed to be here, apparently I am needed by my sister cause as always she has went and gotten herself into some sort of trouble. But this time she has bitten more than she can chew because she has been missing for three months now.

She had left me and Peter saying that she wanted to try out something new and see what is out there in the world. And peter thought it was a good idea to let her experience life on her own, and with just a word from him I didn't have any objections than to go along with it.

Peter is like our elder brother and we both respect him because is the reason why we are all alive and together right now, without him will both be dead.

Peter found me when I was 12 years old, half-dead, beaten by my own people and when they saw I will just be a burden to carry they left me for dead. And that's when peter found me and took good care of me.

We left this city right after we found Kira, because of the people who wanted her dead; Peter thought it was a best idea to just leave this town in peace than in pieces. So we took Kira when she was just 12 years old, we went into a town far from Orial city.

But we received a message saying that Kira was seen here in Orial city and now she is missing. It's not just a coincidence that something like this has happened to her, that's why as soon as we received this we came. And I don't know how true this is but am sure am ready to burn this city down to find her. And if anything has happened to her then this city should be ready to face hell earlier than it expected.

They arrive at the hotel where they are going to be staying and checked in. They both check in the same, immediately they entered the room Peter headed to the bathroom as he threw his bag on the bed, while Jack went and sat on the bed placing his bag on it.

A few minutes later, Peter come out of the bathroom with his head all soaked "oh my God I really needed that."

"What now?" Jack asked Peter

"We go and pay a visit Kira's best friend"

"Great!"

Peter changed his clothes and they immediately started heading to Kira's best friend Mercy.

They travelled all the way to Mercy's house which happens to be in 11th street the 5 house to the right. Peter parked his SUV at the road right in front her house. They both came out and started striding towards her front door.

They reach the front door and Peter rings the door-bell. "Am coming!" her voice answered from the other side of the door. The door opens and a dark-skinned girl comes out and stands at the entrance.

"How can I help you gentlemen?" she asked almost as immediately as she came out.

She looks at them as she no idea who they are. Two good looking guys standing at her front door; what was this, a striper gig, she thought to herself. No, they don't look like stripers to me; because one was dressed as s funny nerd guy (Peter) while the other one like a jerky captain of basketball (Jack).

"Hi mercy!" peter said charmingly

"How to you know my name? Do I know you or something?"

"No you don't, but you know our sister Kira"

"Kira has brothers?" she says shocking facial expression; that b***h hide her good looking brother has I suffered with idiots.

"I didn't know that Kira had brothers."

"Yes, peter and Jack. I guess she doesn't love talking about us." Which was a lie because they told her not tell anyone that they knew each other for it was dangerous for her if the wrong person found out.

"What's there not to talk about." Mercy said acting all flirty

"Oh thank you." Peter said with a smile while Jack rolled his eyes, for Peter loved compliments a lot "but I guess our sister doesn't seem to think so."

"Ohh, I see. But why are you here?"

"Well you see, we haven't heard from Kira for the past three month now. And we are starting to worry something bad must have happened to her." Peter answered "So we were hoping if you know something about her disappearance."

"That's sad, but I also haven't heard from her for a while now too."

"Alright, but we were told that you were the last person to see her before she went missing."

"Oh yes, we went clubbing that night. And she ditched me to go with the guy and that's the last time I saw her."

"What club did you go to?" Jack asked in his calm voice

"Club 24"

"Thanks very much" peter said, and as they turned started to leave, when they were about to leave.

"But it only opens at mid-night, hence the name." she said tried to act all flirty with Peter.

"Okay" Peter responded "alright then, thank you."

"I mean I can take you there when it opens, so that I can even show you the guy she went out with."

"How sure are you that he will be there?" Jack asked

"Because...he is the bar-tender there."

"Okay, thank you for your help" Peter said with a smile trying to flirt with her too.

"It's no problem." She responded, and as we were about to go "and if it's not a problem, you can stay here has you wait for time to pass?"

"Oh no, we wouldn't wanna impose on you" Peter said trying to pretend as if he doesn't want to stay.

"Come on I will even bake you some scorns." She said kindly

"Chocolate?" Peter asked

"Why not?"

"Alright then we will stay."

She opens the door wide enough for them to enter and Peter and Jack go inside.

CLUB 24 - MID-NIGHT

At mid-night they went to club 24 accompanied by Mercy. As they reached they went direct to the counter as they loud music played.

At the counter a bar-tender approached them "what do you want."

"Is he the one?" Peter whispered into Mercy's ears.

"No he is not the one." Mercy whispered back at him "the one you are look for is Jeff."

"alright." Peter said has he turned to the Bar-tender "we want Jeff."

"He has not yet reported yet, I guess he is running late." The bar-tender said

"Alright then, bring us three beers." Peter said

"Alright, be right back." The bar-tender said as he left.

"Do you want to dance?" Mercy asked Peter

Who hesitates for a while before agreeing and they both go at the dance floor to dance, while Jack remains alone at the counter. Unlike Peter who loves to party and have fun, Jack just loves his peace of mind away from those things.

As they were dancing "your brother doesn't talk much huh?" Mercy asked Peter

"Yes, he doesn't. You know he went through a lot, that now all he knows is quietness" Peter responded they danced.

Jack his watching to them as they dance.

"Here you go" the bar-tender said and he stops watching Peter and Mercy dance, the bar-tender has brought the bottles of bear that Peter ordered.

"Thank you." He said as he picked up one of the beer bottles, the bar-tender leaves to attend to other people at the other side of the counter.

He takes a sip of his beer has focus on the Club's TV showing a football game of Chelsea against Real Madrid.

"Madrid will win." A woman said and he turns to check and it was Jennifer. He turns back and focuses on the TV again.

"I don't think so." He replied as he took a sip from his beer.

"Oh I see you are a Chelsea fan." She said as she sat next to him. "I myself am a Madrid fan."

"Nice to know." He said with sign of no interest to talk to her.

"alright." She said has she saw that he wasn't interested "anyways am Jennifer."

"Jack."

"Okay, I see you have three bottles of beer and you don't seem to be in a good. Am assuming something went wrong?"

He turns and looks at her as she stares at him "do you always talk like this to strangers?" he asked her

"No, only to the cute ones?" she replies acting all flirty which is unlike her to do so. Jack passes no comment as he gives a small chuckle and drunk his beer.

"So Jack what brought about your all this negativity?"

"Excuse me."

"I mean you have all this negative vibe around and you are in bar, which can only mean something brought you to this point."

He just looks at her with a shocking facial expression, trying to figure out what's up with her. What's wrong with this girl? Jack asked himself without saying a word. But Jennifer continued speaking...

"Let me guess. Girl issues? Work issues? Dad issues?" he twitched a bit at the mention of dad issues and Jennifer noticed it. "So it's dad issues? Oh you have to tell me about it"

"I aren't telling you s**t"

"Yeah, not without a drink in my hand" she turns to the counter and calls on the bar-tender, who in a short period of time comes to meet her.

There is something about this girl that I just can't seem to understand. It makes my blood to start heating up and rushing through my veins from my brain to the one place I don't it to go, Jack thought to himself. I feel like I had to protect her be at her side, which is crazy I have just met this girl and it's not like me to get like this over a girl.

The bar-tender brought her, her beer and he turned to Jack. "are you the one looking for Jeff?"

"Yes."

"Apparently Jeff went out three months ago." The bar-tender

"Alright, but do you know where I can find him?"

"Yes am coming." The bar-tender responded as he went and grabbed a paper and handed it to Jack "here you will find everything you are looking for there."

"Alright thank you." Jack said as he got the paper and removing his wallet. He got money out of it and paid the bar-tender who got the money and left while Jack got up from his sit.

"Wait, you are leaving so soon?" Jennifer asked him

"Yeah, I got to go. And Chelsea is wining" he said as he left.

Jennifer turned and checked on the game and found Chelsea leading by 2 and she chuckled with a smile as she took a sip of her beer.

Jack walked over to Peter and Mercy and told them everything the bar-tender just told him and passing the paper the bar-tender gave him to Peter. he checks it out, without wasting time they both immediately start to leave the club without Mercy, whom Peter compelled to stay and enjoy herself.

As they were living "I saw you made a new friend." Peter teased him with a smug on his face.

"She is not my friend, just a woman who started talking to me" and Peter just smiled as they both left the club and headed to look for Jeff.

I wasn't totally okay with the idea of playing with a person's feelings even if it was them, Jennifer thought to herself. And now that I have talked to him, he doesn't seem like a bad guy at all or a monster.

"So how did it go?" Danny asked as he sat next to her right after Jack and Peter left the club.

Danny is Jennifer's new partner; apparently special hunters don't work alone for it is dangerous that way. As much as Jennifer didn't like working with a partner, she had to work with him as by the academy's requirement.

"He doesn't seem so bad to?"

"Well don't let his looks fool you. You have to remember that he is one of them."

What's up with him, since I started training with him, he seems to be rude and brutal towards me, Jennifer thought to herself, it's as if he has a long-time grudge with me. And as if that wasn't enough, our trainer keeps on telling me that am not as special as I thought I was, and apparently Danny here is his favorite student.

I have been told a lot about Danny's accomplishments and how he was the first youngest kid in centuries to tap into his hunter mode apart from the current Hunter Deputy General. He fought to be the greatest hunter ever and he is not distracted by anything trivial.

"I know that. You don't have to remind me."

"That's great as long as you stick to the plan. Because if they are all here then Orial City is in trouble. So, no mistakes got it?"

"Sure thing Mr. Perfect" she said as she gave him a false smile trying to mock his obvious statement which he has just made. "Would you mind giving me some space?"

"Sure thing" he said as he got and left her alone.
