MASHA When I woke up, the world felt blurred and heavy, a dull throbbing pain echoing from both my hands up to my shoulders. My throat was dry, my lips cracked, and the room smelled faintly of antiseptic and a nightmare I didn't want to go back to. Why was this happening to me? Was it one of my brother's enemies that had taken me? If it was that would have definitely requested for a meeting or a trade. So why take my purse and break hands? Just the reminder of that sent a painful feeling to my wrist tears fell down my cheeks. “Easy there, baby. I've got you.” came a low voice beside me. I turned my head slowly and saw Matt sitting in a chair next to the bed, his eyes were bloodshot, a rough stubble shadowing his jaw. He looked nothing like the man who’d once burned me in anger.
