BLAZE
She gasped, stumbling right into my arms. Her skin was soft and warm, even amidst the chaos.
I bit back a smile as I glanced down at her flushed face. Embarrassment poured off her in waves. Was she more mortified by the altercation with him or the fact that she’d fallen into my arms?
Not that I minded. I’d catch her a hundred times over if it meant this closeness.
“Are you okay?” I asked, steadying her.
She brushed the strands of her blonde hair aside, her breath uneven. “Yes. Thank you.”
“Yeah, thanks, man,” he interjected.
I shot him a sharp glare, suddenly remembering his unfortunate presence. He should’ve left by now, but of course, he stayed—uncultured, rude, and utterly devoid of decency.
“If I hadn’t stepped in, you would’ve let her fall, wouldn’t you?”
He blinked, confused. “Excuse me?”
I stepped closer. He didn’t measure up to me—not in stature, character, or anything else that mattered.
“I saw everything. You were harassing her, and she got up to escape you. If I hadn’t been here, she’d have fallen and made a scene while you stood there, amused. Would that have boosted your ego?”
He laughed, brushing it off, his arrogance grating. “Baby girl, thank him so he feels good about himself. Then we can get back to our conversation.”
“Baby girl?” She spun on him, the anger quick and sharp—but too quick. She wobbled again.
I caught her instinctively, steadying her with one hand.
She paused, her fury redirected. “Thank you,” she said to me, before turning back to him, pointing. “And you, don’t you dare laugh or call me baby girl. I’ve had the worst night. Found out my boyfriend was cheating on me, came here for a drink hoping it’d help, but nothing has pissed me off like talking to you. So don’t. We’re not friends, and I am not your baby girl.”
“Clowns. Both of you.” He turned away with a sneer.
“Yeah. Scoot along, little man. Go find someone else to bother. Actually, don’t bother anyone at all—people are just trying to have a decent—”
I was cut off when she kissed me.
I didn’t know her name or anything significant about her, but she kissed me. Her lips were on mine, her hands around my neck. She waited, as though giving me a choice.
I placed a hand on the small of her back and kissed her in return. In that moment, I decided she deserved a better night.
But it didn’t feel like I was doing her a favor. It felt like she was fulfilling a dream I didn’t know I had.
The kiss was electric, hot, and undeniably real. The need for her built, consuming us both. Moist and raw, the kiss deepened. She tilted her head, and my tongue slid into her mouth, drawing a soft hitch of breath from her throat. I was so close to crossing into something far more dangerous.
My heart raced, my ears buzzed, every nerve lit up. I didn’t want to stop, but we both knew we had to. We pulled away at the same time, though our arms remained wrapped around each other.
“Spinning isn’t your thing,” I said.
She smiled, her lips curving with humor, her eyes twinkling. “It isn’t. But right now, you’re making me spin.” She poked a finger to my chest.
“Good thing I’m holding you,” I said.
She bit her lip, glancing around. “Do you want to get out of here?”
I hesitated, the pull of her intoxicating, but I forced myself to step back. It physically hurt to drop my hands to my sides, to lose the warmth of her body against mine.
“Uh-huh. But I’m not the rebound you think you need.”
Her brow furrowed slightly, but then her eyes softened. “You’re handsome, hot, and you stood up for me, even when you didn’t know who I was. You’re not a rebound.”
“Your boyfriend cheated on you—”
“Exactly what I’m saying.” She cut me off, leaning closer, her voice insistent. “You actually listened to me. I bet that other guy didn’t give a damn about anything I said.”
When she realized I wasn’t budging, she studied me thoughtfully. “Are you here with someone? A lover?”
“No,” I admitted. “I’m here with my family. The most annoying family ever.”
Her laugh was light, disarming. “Then let’s have mind-blowing s*x tonight, and you can deal with your family tomorrow. What do you say?”
She bit her bottom lip, the gesture glistening it. My blood surged, my arousal undeniable.
“One night,” I said finally.
“One night,” she agreed, finishing her drink in one quick motion. She slipped a dollar bill into the glass and turned back to me, her eyes bright with anticipation.
I reminded myself it was just one night. Though, selfishly, I wanted more—at least the whole weekend. I thought of asking if she’d be taking the cruise ship tomorrow. Half the people on the island were boarding it, and if my dad and his new wife weren’t coming, I might’ve invited her as my partner.
She was the kind of girl my parents would like. I already knew that. And that was a problem. Dad would push for more, and I’d find myself in a relationship with someone I’d just met.
But tonight wasn’t about the future. Tonight, I had to make the most of the moment.
“Ready to fall in love with me?” I teased.
She laughed, slipping her hand into mine. “The s*x is going to be that good?”
“Better than anything you’ve ever had,” I promised, as we began walking away from the shack. “But remember, it’s for one night only,” I said, more to myself than to her.

I locked the door behind her and watched as she dragged her fingers over the edge of the table, her touch light and teasing. She stooped, then turned around just in time to catch me staring.
“Your room is… cozy,” she said, a sly smile playing on her lips.
Cozy wasn’t the word I’d use. My room was a suite, the kind reserved for the hotel’s top-tier clients. The balcony outside overlooked a sprawling, glistening pool. To my left was a door leading to a plush living room and game area; the one beside me opened into a private convenience room. Everything about this place was designed to be better—grander—than the standard rooms.
“Thank you,” I replied, leaning against the door. “By the way, I locked it. You don’t mind, right?”
She giggled, spinning on her heel before flopping onto the bed with an exaggerated sigh. “Are you kidding me? We can’t exactly have mind-blowing s*x with the door unlocked. Unless…” She sat up, smirking. “You want to give the neighbors a show too?”
“The show’s all yours,” I said, my gaze dropping to her mischievous eyes, their brightness stoking the fire already burning inside me. “Now get on the bed and open up for me.”
Without hesitation, she pulled her legs back until her back rested against the headboard. She was sitting there, waiting—just as I intended.
I decided to put on a show of my own. Starting with my shirt, I unhooked the buttons one by one, deliberately slow, letting the anticipation simmer between us. Once it was off, I reached for my pants.
The silence between us was heavy—charged with need, thick with desire. She bit her lip, her eyes trailing down my body, stopping at the bulge straining against my boxers. That single action—biting her lip—was enough to drive me insane.
I climbed onto the bed, crawling toward her. “Although I’d love to call you mine for the night,” I said, my voice low, “it’d be nice to know your name.”
She rolled her eyes, subtly enough that I might’ve missed it if I wasn’t so focused on her.
“Sabrina,” she said softly, then arched a brow. “And you?”
“Blaze.”
Tipping her chin up, I crushed my mouth to hers, kissing her hungrily. I tasted everything she had to offer, nipping at the bottom lip she loved to tease. When my tongue slid into her mouth, I caught the faint taste of metal from biting down on her so hard. Her smirk dissolved into soft gasps as she squirmed beneath me, her hips shifting to meet mine, desperate for more.
Not yet.
I bit down on her neck, hard enough to pull a breathless sigh from her lips. Her body melted beneath me, surrendering completely. My bites weren’t soft or gentle—they were demanding, possessive, marking every inch of her skin.
I slipped the strap of her gown off her shoulder, pressing kisses against her soft skin, letting my lips linger. Then I stopped.
Gripping her hips, I dragged her body down, pushing her gown up to her waist. I wanted a clear view of what she’d been keeping from me.
And she was breathtaking.
Her scent overwhelmed my senses, obliterating every last shred of my restraint. I buried my face between her thighs, inhaling deeply as her heat pulled me closer.
She gasped, the sound morphing into soft laughter before giving way to the most breathless, sensual moan I had ever heard. Her hands flew to the back of my head, tangling in my hair as she guided me, her hips rolling upward to meet my lips with eager, desperate movements.
I started slow, circling my tongue over her c**t, teasing her with gentle strokes that quickly grew more deliberate. Her taste was intoxicating, and I pressed harder, slurping greedily at the juices flowing from her. When I pushed my tongue inside her, her entire body arched off the bed.
I took my time, dragging out every movement—agonizingly slow, savoring every reaction, every gasp and shudder. It was the perfect recipe to have her begging, crying out, and trembling beneath me. I pulled back just enough to form an O shape around her swollen c**t and sucked, soft but relentless.
“Oh my God,” Sabrina muttered, her voice breaking as her hands fluttered, searching for something to hold onto.
Her reactions were fuel to the fire inside me—every moan, every stifled scream, every time she clenched around nothing while I drove her wild. I paid close attention, noting what made her body jolt uncontrollably or sent waves of ecstasy crashing through her.
When I slipped a finger inside her, she gasped again, her thighs trembling as I rubbed her from within. I added another, working her slowly, deliberately, while my tongue kept feasting on her sensitive bud. She writhed beneath me, a mix of surrender and frantic need, her body helpless to the sensations I was drawing out of her.
And then, my phone rang.
