“I booked a flight to Bali.” Adam said. Summer turned to him for a brief moment, wondering what to do with this information. They had been walking down the street that evening as per her request for fresh air. The sun was setting and they were going to watch it. She nodded numbly. She’d been numb since the night before. Different thoughts ravished her mind and it was hard not to drown in the sea of what ifs. Never in a million years would she have thought that she’d find herself in that situation. But it had happened. Summer had lived such a shielded life she barely experienced any major tragedy. But she almost did yesterday. The devilish glint in the man’s eyes were enough to make her knees tremble. She could tell that he was going to do so many horrible things to her if he’d succeeded.
