Chapter 12

[Ryder]

When we went back to her house at the end of the night, her friends stayed in the living room and my kitten wanted me to share her bed with her so I complied very happily. I wrapped my arms around her and she rested her head on my chest and I purred. I was so happy and almost fell asleep, but Alex was constantly in my head saying *let me out now* or * you have had your fun let me be with my mate now* I only replied * I will stay until mate asks me to leave* but that did little to shut him up and I eventually I ignored him and focused on the intoxicating scent of my gorgeous mate who now slept on my chest. The need to mark her was overpowering, but she was already upset with the stupid human and I didn’t want her to reject us completely. I itched to be in my own wolf form instead of the human form because as much as I love to talk to my mate, I am not suited to this human body. Finally, I fell asleep lightly purring due to the closeness of my mate.

[Serena]

I woke up when I heard the others up in the kitchen. I tried to get up but Ryder pulled me back into his chest with a low growl. “Where are you going,mate?” he smirked.

“They are all awake I think so I was going to the kitchen and hang out while you slept” I replied matter of factly. He closed his eyes and when he opens them back up he whined ” I have to give Axel back control now, but I don’t want to leave. I have finally got to know you mate and I had fun.”

“I had fun too and we can do it again at some point” I said and leaned in ever so slightly before he rolled us over so he was laying on top of me. He gave me a quick kiss and then closed his eyes.

[Axel]

I opened my eyes and I was on top of Serena. We made eye contact and I rolled off of her when she looked away. “Serena I am sorry. I was stupid and I should have listened to you” I apologised.

“It’s fine. I’ll just miss Ryder” she stated and my heart dropped at the mention of missing Ryder. *Mate loves me more* Ryder howled in my head. “I will make it up to you. I promise” I replied as if trying to convince myself and her.

“Ok. Anyways we need to go and see them” she said and slipped out of the room. I blew out a breath of air as I got out of bed and followed her out.

[Serena]

I left the room and smiled as I saw my friends sitting around the breakfast bar. “Hey guys, how are you feeling?” I asked while approaching the coffee machine and making everyone a coffee for everyone. Alex appeared at the corner of the room, standing topless, showing off his rock hard abs. We made eye contact for a moment before I focused on making the coffee. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Molly blush while staring shamelessly at him and I was overcome by jealousy. As if sensing what I was feeling he approached me, eyes never leaving mine. He pulled me into an embrace from behind whispering “I only have eyes for you.” I sighed with a small smirk on my face. Everyone came to collect their coffees and sat around our huge oak table. I had made some pancakes so I was last into the room. I was expecting to see a seat beside Alex, but instead he was flanked by Lily and Molly he smirked at me as if sensing my frustration. So I sat in the last available seat between Max and Daniel. Alex had at least put on a t-shirt. We all ate loads of pancakes with different things like maple syrup, Nutella and jam. “ You should come and see us soon” Lily said to me.

“Yeah” they all agreed.

“How about Wednesday next week. Your dad said that you had the end of next week off” Max added.

“You know what it would be really nice. Me and Alex should definitely do that” I said smiling.

“Actually, I was thinking just you” Max said, “ you know so we can have a proper conversation about how you are doing.” Alex glared at Max murderously. He definitely didn’t like Max especially after Max tricking him last night.

“Okay, we’ll see. Maybe it’ll be good for us to not always be around each other” I said to Alex and he turned his attention to me. His gaze softened and his eyes were sad.

“It is a good idea. It’s not healthy to always be together. It’s only for a couple of days” Molly interjected. We all agreed apart from Alex, who sat silently staring at me.

“What do you think Alex?” Daniel asked clearly seeing the look of sadness on his face.

“If that’s what Serena wants. I mean I need her back on Saturday because we have plans” Alex replied and I felt very confused.

“Plans can always be cancelled. There are so many of our friends that really miss you” Molly said, glaring at Alex.

“Not these plans unfortunately” he stated and finally I understood. It’s a full moon on Saturday night.

“Maybe another time guys” I suggested.

“Oh come on, S. You will be back for your plans” Lily explained and I reluctantly agreed and muttered “ I will be back in time”, knowing that Alex could hear me. I watched him intently for a reply and he gave me a

small nod.
