His and hers

Chapter 5

[Alex]

 “Alex, honey, where were you last night, didn’t you shift?” Mum asked concerned as soon as I entered the house. 

“I did shift,mum. But I was in the pool house with Serena” I replied dryly. 

“Oh no. What did you do to her? Poor girl” mum cried and pulled me into a hug. 

“I would never hurt her” I growled out and mum then understood what happened.

“Where is she? Oh, your dad will be so happy. You will be Alpha soon with a Luna by your side” she squealed.

“She needs time to process all of this. I think she might reject me” I whimpered. It has only been half an hour, but every inch of me wanted to hold her in my arms. Mum scurried around the house, telling everyone while I decided to spar with my best friend Darius. We both shifted for the first time last night so we should have been an equal match, but because  I found my mate and he didn’t I was better. We talked in between punches, but all I could think about was Serena. *Go to mate* Ryder chanted in my head over and over again. “You are so lucky you found your mate, bro” Darius said to me.

“She is perfect. I want her so bad, but I think she will reject me and if she does I don’t think I can survive something like that” I replied. *Lets go to see mate now* Ryder whined and I finally complied. I said my goodbyes and started walking to Serena’s house. As soon as I caught a whiff of her gorgeous scent, Ryder got impatient and forcefully shifted. Due to the fact that this was only my second time and my mate wasn’t by my side it was so painful and I couldn’t help dropping to the ground in agony.

[Serena]

I heard screams of agony coming from the end of my road and I immediately knew it was Alex. I ran out of my house towards the screams before I even knew what I was doing. “Hey, hey Alex. It’s ok” I whispered while kneeling down and giving him a hug. “Your not, you know, changing now?” I said and he managed to groan a yes. “Okay we need to get you to my house now otherwise people will see you” I said while trying to pull him up. By this point I could hear his joints popping and bones breaking. He helped me pull him to his feet while holding a hand over his mouth to try and muffle the screams that were coming out of his mouth. I started pulling him down the road , but after passing a couple of houses he dropped to the floor again. His clothes started ripping and his arms were already in position. “There isn’t long left” he growled out and with my help pushed himself back to his feet. We practically ran back to my house. I fumbled with the door and as soon as it opened I shoved him in and shut the door. By the time I turned around to see him , he had already completely changed. “I’m still confused about all of this. I was hoping we would talk, but obviously that isn’t going to happen” i muttered and I heard him whine. Then he walked over to the back door and pawed at it. I opened it and he stepped out indicating to me with his head to follow.

I followed him through the woods and back to his house and there were so many people there. I awkwardly stopped walking and started to turn back into the forest. Alex growled behind me and I stopped. “There are so many people here. I can’t go in” I complained. He huffed and nudged me in the direction of the pool house. I walked to it and he watch me go in before turning around and running back towards the house.I shuddered as I looked around, remembering what occurred that night.I was brought out of my thoughts by several growls, one of which that could only be recognised as Alex’s. Before I knew I was doing I rushed out the pool house and towards where the grounds were coming from. When I arrived, I saw Alex and his wolf form standing over a dead wolf.I gasped in horror and ran back to the pool house, locking myself in. “Serena, let me in please “Alex said softly a few minutes later, wearing only shorts.I ignored him and went to sit down.He watched me through the glass door and kept calling for me to let him in but I was in shock. Eventually I fell asleep, not wanting to talk to him any longer.
