Kieran’s POV
The room was unusually quiet.
Too quiet.
Kieran sat alone, resting back in his chair as he slowly drank the wine that had been brought to him by a maid.
The candle flames flickered against the walls, creating dancing shadows around the room.
Normally, silence didn’t bother him.
Actually...
He preferred it.
Less talking.
Less unnecessary drama.
Less people annoying him.
But tonight...
Something felt different.
The air felt heavier.
Like something was waiting.
Kieran stared at the wine glass in his hand.
“Strange...” he muttered.
He couldn't explain it.
But his instincts were warning him.
And Kieran had learned a long time ago...
Never ignore instincts.
Especially when they came from an alpha.
Suddenly...
The door opened.
Kieran’s eyes immediately moved toward it.
Angelina stepped inside.
She looked calm.
Too calm.
And that alone made him suspicious.
Because whenever someone looked that confident...
It usually meant trouble.
And somehow...
Trouble always seemed to find him.
“Angelina,” Kieran said, narrowing his eyes.
She didn’t answer immediately.
Instead, she simply looked at him.
Studying him.
Like she already knew something he didn't.
A small smile appeared on her face.
That smile.
Kieran hated that smile.
It was the kind of smile that said:
"I know something you don't."
And he hated being the last person to know anything.
“What are you doing here?” he asked.
Angelina slowly walked closer.
“There’s no need to be so suspicious.”
Kieran raised an eyebrow.
“Coming from you?”
A small laugh escaped her.
The atmosphere shifted.
Something about her presence felt different.
Stronger.
Almost dangerous.
Kieran could feel something happening.
But he couldn’t figure out what.
And that bothered him.
A lot.

Author’s POV
Now...
If you’re wondering what Kieran’s thinking right now...
The answer is simple.
Confused.
Suspicious.
And probably wondering why everyone around him acts like they have secret plans.
Which...
They do.
Poor guy.
---
Kieran’s POV
Kieran watched Angelina carefully.
There was something hidden behind her eyes.
A secret.
A plan.
Something.
He didn’t know what it was...
But he knew one thing.
Angelina wasn’t here by accident.
The night continued...
But the questions only grew.
When everything finally settled, Angelina left the room.
And the strangest part?
She looked completely satisfied.
Like she had accomplished exactly what she came to do.
She walked down the hallway slowly.
A smile still resting on her face.
Then she stopped.
Looking around to make sure she was alone.
Her expression changed.
The smile disappeared.
And a serious look replaced it.
She quietly whispered:
“I did what you asked of me...”
The hallway remained silent.
“So now you shall set me free.”
Her voice became colder.
“No more shall I be your slave...”
A pause.
“Or else you will be sent to your grave.”
The words echoed through the empty hallway.
Then Angelina walked away.
Leaving behind nothing...
Except questions.

Author’s POV
Well...
That was definitely not suspicious at all.
A mysterious girl.
A secret deal.
A creepy warning.
Yeah.
Nothing strange happening here.
Absolutely normal.
Definitely.
...
Okay.
Even I don't believe that.

Kieran’s POV
Kieran stared at the closed door after she left.
Something was wrong.
He could feel it.
Angelina was hiding something.
And Kieran hated secrets.
Especially when they involved him.
He stood up slowly.
The shadows around the room seemed darker than before.
“Who are you really working for?” he whispered.
But there was no answer.
Only silence.
And somewhere in the distance...
A faint sound.
Almost like laughter.
Kieran’s eyes narrowed.
Someone was watching.
And whoever it was...
They were enjoying the game.

Author’s POV
And that, dear readers...
Is where the real problem begins.
Because when secrets start coming out...
Someone always gets hurt.
The question is...
Who?
