I lean my shoulder on the doorway as I looked at Aria, sighing as she shoved the last of her things in her bag. This morning when I had woke from the pathetic excuse of a sleep, I was told by my dad that Aria and the rest of the Dark Moon Pack beside Tristan, were heading back home. I understood why, knowing that Tristan pack needed proper guidance and I knew Noah would do a great job leading them until Tristan return. I felt a mixture of emotions as I realized I would be returning with him.
I will admit, I am slightly excited to be going with Tristan. I wasn't angry at him anymore. I never really was. I was just fed up up of his behavior and the way he is always emotionless. I knew I was being unfair, knowing that there was a reason why Tristan was like he is. I hoped desperately that one day, he would tell me the reason.
But the thing that had really gotten to me was: What the hell is Tristan going do to in the main time? I mean, now that Noah and the rest are heading back, he is going to be the only one from the pack remaining. He surely isn't going to interact with my Pack, he will most likely spend his time out in the forest until my almost healed neck is completely mended.
"Out of 10, how excited are you for leaving?" I asked, pulling myself om Aria bed, careful to not hurt myself to much. Aria zipped up her final bag and grinned over me. "Hmm," she paused, a thoughtful look appearing on her face. "I will say about a 8 and a half. I am just so nervous to meet the pack", she admitted, sitting down beside me. "I mean, this is the pack we all hate," she laughed and looked at me. "It's all pretty crazy."
"You got that right." I leaned my head on Aria shoulder and smiled. "I am glad your going to be there", I said, so grateful that I will have my best friend by my side. It was nice to know that I have at least one friend there. Aria laughed, the sound sounding soft and light. "See?" she exclaimed as I moved my head off her shoulder, only for her to jump and grab my hands. She looked down at me, her eyes twinkling. "We were meant to be bestfriends! It's pretty obvious, nothing can separate us!"
I stared at Aria with an amused smile. I really did love my bestfriend. I stood up and casually slung an arm around her shoulder. I tilted my head to the side and gave her a lazy smile. "Let's go for a walk", I stated, my voice excited. Aria grinned at me, loosely grasping my waist. "Yes!" she agreed as we began to descend the stairs, and make our way through the dinning room. Reaching the door, Aria yanked it opened and I was immediately hit by the warm summer sun.
I sighed in happiness, loving the way the bright sun rays belted down my soft skin. "So what's Noah like?" I questioned Aria curiously as we made our way over to the forest opening, where little lake was. I looked around, noticing a few of my pack members looking at me. I smiled at them politely and gave them a little wave. They smiled back, although some looked forced. I tried not to let my disappointment show as I looked back in front of me.
"Oh!" Aria exclaimed laughing. "Noah actually the best. I thought he would be all cold and uncaring. But he isn't", I saw Aria glance at me. "He is the complete opposite of what I thought he was." Her tone changed serious but I decided to ignore it. I smiled at Aria, pinching the cheeks playfully. "I am so happy for you Ari." Aria slapped my hand away, her eyes narrowing at me teasingly. I was about to open my mouth to talk, when a black patch of hair caught my attention.
"Jake!" I called, watching as Jake looked at me with weird expression, before turning his back at me and striding off. Hurt coursed through me as I looked at his retreating back in disbelief. I removed myself from Aria hold and as best as I could, walk towards him. "Jake, stop!" I called again. I was pissed as Jake ignored me and disappeared into the forest. What the hell was his problem? I get he was embarrassed about what happened, when Tristan first arrived and even that left me reeling with questions.
I sighed and turned around, walking back to Aria. "He is avoiding me," I stated, resuming our walk through our beautiful pack village. I glanced around at the lovely homes and extraordinary gardens and trees. It dawned on me, how much I was going to miss this place.
Aria grabbed my hand, squeezing it tightly. "Let's not worry about him", she said, a small smile lighting up her face. "Let's focus on us and him later. I want quality time with my favorite person!" Despite myself, I felt myself grinning back. She was right, Jake can wait.
We continued walking the village for a few minutes with Aria and I recalling our favorite childhood memories. Aria leaned into me, gasping for air as a laugh escaped her. "I-oh my gosh!" she cried, tears of laughing forming in her eyes. "I can't believe you did that! Oh! And remember when you-", she cur herself off, laughing so hard. I threw my head back and laughed, closing my eyes as I let the joyful moment consume me. This is the most I have laughed in a long time.
I giggled and looked at Aria, immediately crackling up as I watched her slump on the ground laughing. I clutched my stomach, laughter trying to escape me as i locked my eyes with Aria. This only resulted with us laughing harder, making my body shake with hiccups as I desperately tried to regain myself. I knew if someone sees us like this, they might think we are crazy.
I grinned still laughing and whip my damp eyes. My laughter immediately stop as my gaze locked with dark brown ones. Tristan stood at the entrance of the trees, watching ,e with those intense eyes, that O think I will never get use to. He was watching me with strange expression on his face, one that left me confused.
Suddenly, a picture of Tristan naked from from last night popped into my mind. I almost choked as I recalled the memories.
I heard Aria laughter die down behind me until she was completely silent. I was a little bit embarrassed that Tristan has to see me laughing like that. I mentally cursed at myself as i recalled a few uncontrollable snorts that escaped me. Very embarrassing.
My eyes roamed over my mate, mentally looking over how incredible he looks. I swear there will never be a day where he doesn't look good. My wolf agreed wholeheartedly, as we stared at our mate across the clearing. My heard beat against rapidly as my mate stared at me right int the eyes. My body was lighten with heat and little tingles, the affect I had whenever Tristan was around or involved.
Suddenly out of a corner of my eyes, I saw a she-wolf, with blonde hair and tan skin from my Pack approach Tristan. I tensed and watched as she walked up to Tristan with smile on her face. My wolf was angry as she placed a hand on Tristan shoulder and caressed it. My heart clenched and a sickening feeling appeared in my dropped stomach. I was immediately blinded by jealousy but at the same time, I could only watch in shock as she lean her face up to Tristan.
I heard Aria gasp behind me, but I barely heard it. I felt my heart give away as I watched the most heart wrenching and disbelieving thing happen infront of me.
She kissed him.
