"Jojo, it's me!" a feminine voice yells and I instantly know it is Roane. "Come out."
Why does Roane sound so agitated? I come out from where I had hidden when I heard her walking in, now becoming visible to her.
She doesn't look good.
Her eyes are swollen and her hair is a total mess.
"What do you think you're doing, Roane?" I ask and walk over to fold up the blanket on which I had been relaxing. "You startled me from a little nap, screaming my name like you intend for someone miles away to hear..."
