ALISON
Everything was heightened tonight; the feelings, the world around me. The night itself. It has always been like this whenever I was in my wolf form, but in this dream there was more to it. I could hear smell. See sound.
In my wolf form, I stood on the earth, surrounded by nature, oak and pine trees sheeted with snow. A mountain in a close distance with its cap of snow. My paws could feel the rumbles of the earth beneath me as I prowled forward.
Southern lights hit the sky in the most mesmerising sight; streams of green and pink and a purplish blue, dancing at the deep blue skies with a thousand stars in it tonight. The wind howled and the full moon was shone brightly like luminescent milk. In this dream, it was winter. The most beautiful kind of winter.
The wolf stood a few feet away from me. The breeze gently toyed with its fur as it stood on all fours looking at me. Those keen blue eyes glowing like the night. It was large, coated with the finest fur of snow and charcoal, larger than any other thing around us; larger than I was even in my own form. It stood all those feet away, watching me. It had always been watching me.
He had always been watching me.
I did not know how I got here. Just like in every dream, it had begun with a howling as I put myself to sleep, and next thing I knew, I was here, standing before him again in my form. He had always called on to me. He was always calling on to me, and every night as I lay in bed to rest, I was quite keen on meeting him.
He was beautiful, ruggedly radiant in that form, even as he did nothing but stand and watch me like he had just seen a biblically accurate angel. We had nothing but the world to ourselves, surrounded by the vast lands, evergreen trees and rolling hills sheeted with snow. The skies were the only testament of our meeting, looking down upon us with its full splendour in display; the milky way resplendent across the darkness, casting rays of beauty along with the aurorae in view. Whenever I was here to meet him, the stars were aligned.
I could feel it in every sensory part of me. With my beating heart, with my excellent sense of smell, I could feel the connection between me and him, this wolf. And as the feelings heightened with every rhythm of my body, I shot up my head to the sky and howled at the spying full moon.
I howled, calling unto the universe. With my eyes closed in the pleasure of being here again tonight, I howled and shook my fur around me, letting the wind take control of my body. And I did not stop howling, until he beckoned to my call and howled at the moon too.
While mine was like song, his howling was a battle cry. Majestic at it, shaking his mane as if to show off to the moon. Then after it, he looked back down at me and met my eyes. I stood, still all those feet apart, drowning in those electric blue eyes. I tilted my head and rumbled within myself, wondering how he could be so perfectly gorgeous.
The stars were really aligned.
And then he turned around to go. There was a huge mountain behind him, one of the ones capped with snow, and he went along like he was going to seek refuge behind it, as if shying away from my call. Or was he beckoning me nearer to those shadows. Even in my form tonight, I wanted him to do bad things to me.
I followed with a steady prowl, lining my paws upon the dirt and snow with a dancing gait, a subtly wagging tail. He had his back to me now and before he retired behind to the shadows of the mountain, he looked to give me one more gaze of those drowning blue eyes that glowed ethereally.
I desired to float unto him and bask in the splendour of his fur for the rest of the magical night, and it was like he telepathically got me. Because I could feel those thoughts through that very gaze and know that this was his heart desire too.
He was the one for me.
