Danielle POV Knox steps closer, his hand lifting to touch my jaw gently, his thumb brushing over my skin like he’s grounding both of us. His mouth finds mine in a soft, lingering kiss that feels more like reassurance than anything else. “Same thing after work,” he murmurs against my lips. “I’ll message when I’m here. You leave. Walk back to the apartment. I’ll follow.” He kisses me again, slower this time, like he wants me to feel it even after he’s gone. Then he steps back, gives Greg a brief nod, and walks out without another word.
