Knox POV I’m not angry at her. Not even a little. She talks to him the same way she talks to everyone, all open laughter and easy conversation. It’s Hectic who’s the problem. I see the way he shifts, subtle enough that most wouldn’t notice, inching closer every time she leans in to laugh. He does it like it’s nothing, like it isn’t deliberate, but I know it is. The rules are clear. I can’t interfere, no matter what she does. Even if she decides to sleep with someone else. And I don’t think she will, not for a second. But Ghost must’ve seen how close I was to crossing that line. Must’ve seen the way my hand gripped the edge of the table, the way my knee bounced like it wanted to stand.
