A CONTRACT WITH THE ALPHA

CHAPTER ONE

MIA MORENO

The night air was alive, with the sound of jazz music and the smell of bourbon.

As i walk, the sounds of the city gave way to the distant howling of wolves. My heart skip a beat as i quicken my pace.

I have always been drawn to the supernatural world, but i have never thought i will be a part of it. Not until now.

I grew up in the city of New Orleans as a human in the midst of wolves. My mom has always warned me to keep my true identity a secret. “ Mia, no one must know you are a human, make sure to keep it a secret. If anyone was to find out, you will lose your life,” those are her words at all time.

My mind wandered back to the conversation i had with my teacher earlier that day. “ Mia, you will be withdrawn from college if you don't pay your fees within next week.” She said.

I have been trying to come up with a plan to pay off my debt, but it just seems like an impossible task.

Just as i was lost in my thought, I stumble upon a hardwood floor, which wake me up from my deep thought.

“ Ouch!” I moan, rubbing my forehead gently with my left hand.

As i slowly rise to my feet, i was shock by the scene in front of me. A woman was yelling at my mom, threatening to destroy her store if she didn't pay off her debt.

Tears welled up in my eyes as i watch the scene unfold in front of me.

“ Ma'am! please stop! ” I pleaded, trying to intervene with my voice calling attention.

The woman turned to me, with a smirk on her face.

“ Look who we have here.” she said, with a sinister smile on her face.“ If you want me to stop desperately, tell your debtor of a mother to pay up her debt.” She sneered.

I stand in front of her mute, words won't come out of my mouth but tears won't stop streaming down.

“ See Mia, it's okay if you don't have the money, i have a lot of wolves who are craving for young beautiful girl like you, just a night and your debt will be over.” She add to her words, throwing me an annoying naughty smile.

Her eyes were fixed on my boobs as she spill out those naughty words.

My mom want to burst out immediately she said that but i hold onto her hands tightly, trying to stop her.

I felt a surge of anger and fear, but i try to remain calm. “ I'll pay off the debt, I promise, but stop with those naughty words of yours, so you won't force me to sue you for human trafficking.” I said, trying to sound convincing.

The woman raise an eyebrow, clearly amuse by my bold words. “ You really think you can pay off the debt? You're just a poor college student, who depends on her mom for a living.” She sneered, mocking me with her words.

I felt a sting from her words, but i refuse to back down. “ I'll find a way, i promise.” I said, my voice firm.

The woman let out a laugh, she's clearly enjoying the scenario. “ I will be back for my money, and if i don't get it, i will make sure you both regret it.” She let out her threatening words before storming out of the store.

I turn to my mom, who was watching the scene with a mixture of fear and concern.

“ I'm sorry for putting you through all this, Mia.” She said, while tears already welled up in her eyes.

“ Mom, I'll find a way to pay off the debt, i promise.” I said, trying to reassure her.

My mom smiled weakly, i see in her eyes, she's clearly worried about our situation. “ I know you can do it, Mia. After all, my daughter is a strong and bold girl.” she said.

I hug her tightly, feeling a sense of determination wash over me. I will, i have to find a way to pay off our debt, no matter what it takes.

ASHER BLACKWOOD

Valois is still terrorizing the city, and it is getting out of hand. I need to find a way to stop him, but my wolf is being stubborn.

“ What do you mean i need the help of a human girl to track down Valois?” I ask my wolf, who was being uncharacteristically silent.

I stare at my reflection in the mirror, feeling a sense of frustration wash over me. I am a powerful Alpha, and i shouldn't need the help of a human to take down a rogue vampire.

As i stand frustrated in front of the mirror, my servant, Leon, entered the room, waking me up from my thought. “ Alpha, I've found the human girl you requested.” he said, bowing low.

I turn to him, a sense of interest piqued over me. “ Bring her to me.” I ordered.

Lean bow and exit the room, leaving me to my thoughts. I am not sure what to expect from this human girl, but i am willing to try anything to take down Valois.

MIA MORENO

I stepped out of the crowded bar where i work as a part time waitress, i take a deep breath of the cool night air. I am through with my shift, and I'm going home to relax.

I need a break from this painful life, i need to pay our debt within this week, how on earth will i get five hundred million euros within three days.

On my way going, i stumble upon a sleek black car parked by the curb. The window roll down, revealing a chiseled face With piercing blue eyes.

My heart skipped a beat as i stare into the face, i felt a sense of recognition.

A caramel skin guy, with a curly golden hair packed all back, is sitting at the owner's corner. A huge well built scary guy sit like a shield beside him.

A scary looking guy is sitting at the driver's sit.

My eyes widen in horror. “ ASHER BLACKWOOD! ” a voice echo that in my head. I rub my eyes with the back of my palms just to be sure I'm not dreaming.

I feel a surge of fear mixed with excitement as i stare at Asher. What does he want from me?

My heart start racing and pounding really fast, am i dreaming? The great, most richest, powerful Alpha and of course handsome, almighty Asher is in my front right now.

I at first want to run for my life but i hesitate, his handsome fierceful face won't let me move a foot.

“ So it's you, Come closer.” Asher ordered, his voice low and smooth.

I hesitated for a moment before approaching the car. “ What..do...you want, Asher?” I ask, trying to sound brave even though I'm trembling in fear.

Asher smile, his eyes glinting in the moonlight. “ I want to make a deal with you.” he said. “ I need your help to take down a rogue vampire who has been terrorizing the city. In return, i will pay off your debts, keep your secret of being an human and also give you a stipend.”

I stare at him in shock, unsure of what to do or say.

Did the most powerful Alpha in New Orleans city just offer me a deal???
