# THE FACELESS SOUL ## Chapter 6: The Faceless Legacy **1 Year Later. Lahore. Alina Penthouse. 3 AM.** Ayaan Malik was pacing. Again. Aayat was in bed, 9 months pregnant, glaring at him. "If you wear a hole in the floor, you’re buying new tiles." "I’m not nervous," Ayaan said. "I’m just... preparing." "For what? The baby or World War 3?" "Both." Ayaan stopped. Looked at her. "Are you in pain?" "No. I’m just fat and annoyed." Ayaan laughed and sat next to her. Put his hand on her belly. "Hey kid. Come out and meet your dad. He’s an idiot." The baby kicked. Ayaan grinned like a fool. "Did that. That was me." Aayat rolled her eyes. "Yes, jaan. We know." His phone buzzed. Hamza. Ayaan ignored it. It buzzed again. And again. Ayaan sighed and picked up. "What?" "Boss," Hamza said. "We have a problem." Ayaan stood up. "What kind of problem?" "The kind where a girl showed up at the Foundation tonight. 16. Says she was followed. Says they asked for 'Faceless.'" Ayaan went cold. "Victor’s people?" "We don’t know. But she has your name. And she’s scared." Ayaan looked at Aayat. She was already sitting up. "What is it?" she asked. "Foundation. Possible threat." Aayat swung her legs out of bed. "I’m coming." "The hell you are." Ayaan knelt in front of her. "You’re 9 months pregnant." "And I run the Foundation." Aayat took his face in her hands. "We do this together. Or not at all." Ayaan stared at her. Then nodded. "Fine. But you don’t leave my side." --- **Alina Foundation. 4 AM.** The girl was sitting in Aayat’s office. Shaking. Holding a USB. "My name is Zara," she said. "I worked for them. Data entry. Like you." Ayaan and Aayat exchanged a look. "They said if I didn’t give them files, they’d hurt my brother," Zara continued. "I ran. I heard about you. About Faceless. I thought... I thought maybe you could help." Ayaan took the USB. Plugged it in. Files. Names. Locations. It was Victor’s network. Still running. "They’re back," Ayaan said quietly. Aayat grabbed his hand. "Then we stop them. Legally this time." Ayaan looked at her. Then at the mask in the drawer. He hadn’t touched it in a year. He closed the drawer. "No masks. No ghosts. We do this as Alina Foundation." Aayat smiled. "Good." --- **48 Hours Later.** Police raids. 6 cities. 20 arrests. The network was down. Zara and her brother were safe. In a shelter. Press called it "The Foundation’s Biggest Win." That night, Ayaan and Aayat were home. Exhausted. Ayaan was rubbing Aayat’s feet when she gasped. "Ayaan." "What?" "My water broke." Chaos. Hospital. Doctors. Screaming. Well, Ayaan was screaming. 6 hours later. A nurse walked out. "Mr. Malik? You have a daughter." Ayaan couldn’t talk. He just nodded and ran in. Aayat was tired, sweaty, and beautiful. Holding a tiny baby with black hair. "Meet Amina Malik," Aayat whispered. Ayaan sat down and took them both in his arms. "Hi," he whispered to the baby. "I’m your dad. I promise to be better than I was." Amina opened her eyes. Dark. Just like Aayat’s. Ayaan cried. A CEO. A former vigilante. Crying. Aayat wiped his tears. "She’s perfect." "She is," Ayaan said. "Just like her mom." --- **6 Months Later.** Amina was crawling. The Foundation was thriving. And Ayaan had a new job: Full time dad on weekends. One evening, Ayaan was in his office. The drawer was open. The mask was still there. Amina crawled in and grabbed it. Put it on her head. It was too big. Ayaan laughed and took a picture. Sent it to Aayat with the caption: *The next Faceless?* Aayat replied instantly: *Over my dead body.* Ayaan smiled. He picked up Amina and looked at the mask one last time. Then he closed the box. Locked it. Some legacies you don’t pass on. Some legacies you replace with something better. Like love. Like family. Like a second chance. The man who had no face... Now had a name his daughter could say. "Papa." And that was enough. --- ### THE END - For Now
