# THE FACELESS SOUL
## Chapter 4: New Beginning
One month later.
Murree safehouse didn’t feel like a safehouse anymore.
It felt like home.
Morning sun came through the windows. The smell of coffee. The sound of Aayat singing in the kitchen.
Ayaan stood on the veranda with his coffee, no tie, no suit. Just a black t-shirt and jeans.
For the first time in 3 years, his phone wasn’t ringing with blood.
"Breakfast is ready, Mr. CEO," Aayat called from inside.
Ayaan smiled. A real one. "Coming."
They ate on the small table. Eggs. Toast. Nothing fancy.
Aayat was working on her laptop. Alina Foundation files.
"You don’t have to come to the office today," Ayaan said. "Take the day off."
"I’m not taking a day off from saving the world," Aayat said, stealing his toast. "Besides, the shelter in Lahore needs new funding. I have a meeting at 2."
Ayaan watched her. "You’re glowing."
Aayat blushed. "Shut up and eat your eggs."
The peace lasted until noon.
Hamza called. "Boss. We have a problem."
Ayaan stepped outside. "What?"
"Victor’s trial starts next week. His lawyers are saying the USB was planted. They want to dismiss the case."
Ayaan’s jaw tightened. "They can’t. We have witnesses."
"We have 3. Two of them just changed their statements."
Ayaan closed his eyes. "Victor’s buying them."
"Yeah. And there’s more. Someone leaked your name to the press. 'Billionaire CEO runs vigilante group.'"
Ayaan cursed. "How bad?"
"Bad. Front page."
Ayaan hung up and went inside.
Aayat was already reading the news on her phone.
"Faceless Exposed?" she read aloud. "Ayaan Malik linked to masked vigilante?"
She looked up at him. "What do we do?"
Ayaan sat down. "We tell the truth."
---
**Alina Tower. Press Conference. 4 PM.**
Cameras. Lights. 100 reporters.
Ayaan walked to the podium. No mask. No lies.
"My name is Ayaan Malik," he said. "And yes, for the last 2 years I was Faceless."
The room exploded.
Ayaan raised his hand. "I did it because the system failed. Because kids were disappearing and no one was looking. Because I had the money and the means to do something."
"Are you admitting to crimes?" a reporter shouted.
"I’m admitting to saving lives," Ayaan said. "And I’m admitting that I can’t do it alone anymore. So today I’m announcing the Alina Foundation. A legal organization to fight trafficking, help victims, and work with the police."
He looked to the side. Aayat walked out.
She stood next to him. "I’m Aayat Khan. I was a victim. And Ayaan saved me. This foundation is for people like me."
Flash. Flash. Flash.
That night, the news called him a hero.
The police called him for a meeting.
And Victor’s case got 10 new witnesses.
---
**Two Weeks Later.**
The foundation had an office now. 3 floors in Alina Tower.
Aayat ran it. Ayaan funded it.
They worked late. Like old times.
But this time, when it was 2 AM, they went home together.
One night, Aayan found Aayat asleep on the couch in his office. Papers everywhere.
He covered her with his jacket and sat on the floor next to her.
"Hey," she mumbled, waking up. "What time is it?"
"Time to go home," Ayaan said.
Aayat sat up. "Ayaan... can I ask you something?"
"Anything."
"Do you regret it? Being Faceless?"
Ayaan thought about it. "I regret the nights I couldn’t sleep. I regret the blood. But I don’t regret finding you."
Aayat smiled. "Cheesy."
"Yeah." He stood and pulled her up. "Come on. Let’s go home."
---
**One Month Later. Court.**
Victor Hale. In an orange jumpsuit.
The judge read the verdict: "Guilty. Life in prison."
Ayaan and Aayat watched from the back.
When it was over, Aayat exhaled. "It’s really over."
Ayaan took her hand. "It’s over."
Outside, reporters waited.
But Ayaan didn’t stop. He just walked Aayat to the car.
"Where to, boss?" the driver asked.
"Home," Ayaan said.
---
**Murree. Night.**
They were on the roof. Blankets. Stars.
Aayat’s head on Ayaan’s shoulder.
"You know what’s funny?" Aayat said.
"What?"
"I spent 3 years running from you. And now I can’t imagine running from anything with you."
Ayaan kissed the top of her head. "Then don’t."
Silence. Comfortable.
"Ayaan?"
"Hmm?"
"Thank you. For coming back for me."
Ayaan turned her to face him. "Thank you for giving me a reason to."
He kissed her.
Slow. Deep. Like a promise.
When they pulled apart, Aayat was smiling. "So. What now?"
Ayaan looked at the stars. At her. At the life they built from ashes.
"Now," he said, "we live."
---
**Epilogue: 6 Months Later**
Alina Foundation: 12 shelters. 400 people helped.
Ayaan: Still CEO. Still working. But he leaves at 6 PM now.
Aayat: Head of the Foundation. And she moved into the penthouse.
One evening, Ayaan came home early.
Aayat was in the kitchen, cooking.
"Smells good," he said, hugging her from behind.
"Don’t distract me," she laughed. "I’m making your favorite."
Ayaan spun her around. "What if I want something else?"
Aayat raised an eyebrow. "Like what?"
"Like this."
He kissed her.
And for once, there were no ghosts.
No masks.
No running.
Just Ayaan.
Just Aayat.
Just home.
The man with no face finally had a name.
And the girl who ran finally had a place to stay.
