# THE FACELESS SOUL ## Book 2 - Chapter 4 ## Chapter 15: President Amina **Islamabad. Aiwan-e-Sadr. 10 AM.** "Madam President, the cabinet is waiting." Amina Malik, 38, looked up from the photo on her desk. It was old. Faded. Ayaan, 28, in a black coat. Aayat, 25, holding his hand. And baby Amina in Aayat’s arms. She put it down. Stood up. Black shalwar kameez. White dupatta. No jewelry except the blue pin. "Let’s go," she said. The first female President of Pakistan walked into the room. 40 men and women stood up. She didn’t smile. "Sit down. We have work." --- **Flashback: 6 Years Ago. Election Night.** "AMINA MALIK WINS BY LANDSLIDE" Amina, 32, watched the results from Alina Villa. Noor, 17, was jumping. Ayaan, 63, was crying. Aayat was praying. A reporter asked: "Ms. Malik, why politics?" Amina looked at the camera. "Because laws weren’t enough. I need to change the system." --- **Present. Cabinet Room.** "Item 1: The Specter Files." Amina clicked a remote. On screen: 200 names. Politicians. Businessmen. Police. "These are the people who bought children in the last 10 years," Amina said. "And for 10 years, no one touched them. Because they were 'powerful.'" Silence. "Today that ends." Amina looked at the Interior Minister. "I want arrests. By Friday. All 200." "Madam, some of them are—" "I don’t care if they’re my cousins." Amina’s voice was ice. "Arrest them. Or resign." No one argued. --- **2 PM. Press Conference.** "Madam President, isn’t this a witch hunt?" Amina leaned into the mic. "No. It’s justice. And justice is late." "And the economy?" "The economy will be fine when we stop selling our children." The room went quiet. A young reporter raised her hand. "Madam, what would you say to the girls you saved?" Amina was quiet for 3 seconds. "I’d say: I’m sorry it took this long. And I promise it won’t happen again." --- **6 PM. Alina Villa.** Ayaan, 69, was in the garden with Noor, 22. Noor was now a lawyer. At the Foundation. Just like her Khala. "Khala kesi hai?" Noor asked. "Tired," Ayaan said. "But strong." A car pulled in. Amina got out. No security. Just 2 guards. Noor ran and hugged her. "President sahiba!" Amina laughed and hugged her back. "Bas kar. Ghar mein Khala hun." Dinner was simple. Daal, roti, chai. Ayaan watched his daughter. "Tum thak gayi ho." Amina nodded. "Bohot." Aayat held her hand. "Toh rest karo." "Can’t." Amina sighed. "Kal UN mein speech hai. Child trafficking pe." Noor leaned forward. "Khala, can I come?" Amina smiled. "You’re my legal advisor now. Of course." --- **Next Day. UN General Assembly. New York.** Amina walked to the podium. The room: 193 countries. "15 years ago," she started, "a man in a mask saved me. 10 years ago, a girl in a courtroom saved others. Today, I stand here as President to say: We failed them." Silence. "1 in 4 trafficking victims is a child. And we still call it 'someone else’s problem.'" She played a video. Sara. Now 15. "I draw unicorns," Sara said. "Because of Ms. Malik." The room was crying. Amina finished: "My name is Amina Malik. Daughter of Faceless. And I will not stop until every child is safe." Standing ovation. 10 minutes. --- **1 Month Later. Backlash.** Headlines: "PRESIDENT TARGETS ELITE" "ECONOMY CRASHING" "RESIGN AMINA" Protests. Threats. An assassination attempt. Foiled. Ayaan wanted to go to Islamabad. Amina said no. "Stay with Noor. Stay safe." One night, Amina called home. 2 AM. "Baba?" she said. "Beta," Ayaan answered immediately. "Sahi ho?" "Haan." Amina was in her office. Alone. "Baba, I’m scared." "Of what?" "Of becoming them. Of using power to hurt." Ayaan was quiet. "Tum Faceless nahi ho, Amina. Tum roshni ho." Amina cried. "Thank you." --- **3 Months Later. The Arrests.** 200 people. In one night. Judges. Ministers. CEOs. The country exploded. But then something happened. Schools opened. Shelters got funding. Girls went back to class. Approval rating: 78% --- **6 Months Later. Alina Tower. Rooftop.** Family dinner. Just them. Ayaan, 70 now. Walking with a cane. Aayat. Amina. Noor. Noor raised her glass. "To Khala. The President." Amina rolled her eyes. "To family. The real power." Ayaan looked at all 3 women. "Mujhe fakhar hai." Amina reached over and held his hand. "Baba, aap ke bina ye mumkin nahi tha." Ayaan shook his head. "Tum ne khud kiya." --- **Epilogue: 5 Years Later. Amina is 43.** Second term. Pakistan: #1 in child protection in Asia. Alina Foundation: In 70 countries. One day, a 10 year old girl came to the President’s office. "Madam, can I ask you something?" "Of course." "Are you Faceless?" Amina laughed. "No, jaan. My father was." "Was he a hero?" Amina looked at the photo on her desk. "The biggest." The girl smiled. "I want to be like you." Amina knelt down. "Then be better." --- **Final Scene. 20 Years Later.** Amina, 58. Retired President. Writing a book: "From Faceless to President" Ayaan is gone. 2 years now. Peacefully. In his sleep. Aayat is 80. Still sharp. Still running the Foundation. Noor is 42. Head of Alina Foundation Global. On the last page of the book, Amina wrote: "My father had no face. So he gave me his name. My mother had no home. So she gave me a purpose. My daughter has no fear. So she gave me hope. We were ghosts. Now we are light. And the light does not go out." --- ### THE END OF BOOK 2
