# THE FACELESS SOUL
## Book 3 - Chapter 2
## Chapter 17: Phantom 2.0
**Geneva. Alina Foundation Cyber War Room. 3:09 AM.**
Red lights. 40 screens.
Dr. Noor Malik, 42, hadn’t slept in 38 hours.
"Report," she said. Voice hoarse.
Her CTO, Aisha, 34, looked up. "It’s bad. Phantom 2.0 is live."
On the main screen: A child’s avatar. 8 years old.
In a VR room. Being "bid on" by 12 faceless avatars.
Price: 14.2 ETH.
And the worst part?
The child was AI generated. But the buyers thought she was real.
And they were paying to "meet her in person" next week.
"They’re using deepfakes to create fake kids," Aisha said. "Then using that money to buy real ones."
Noor closed her eyes. "How many?"
"237 fake profiles. In 19 countries. And we just found out... they have Zara’s photos."
Noor’s blood went cold. "What?"
Zara. Her daughter. 22 now. A doctor.
Phantom had scraped her childhood photos from an old Foundation gala and was using her 10-year-old face as "Product #88".
Noor stood up. "Get me Khala. Get me Interpol. Get me everyone."
---
**30 Minutes Later. Video Call. Islamabad.**
Amina, 58, answered in a robe. "Noor? Kya hua?"
"They’re using Zara’s face, Khala." Noor’s voice broke. "To sell a fake child."
Amina was silent for 2 seconds. Then: "Address bhejo. Abhi."
Aayat, 86, came into frame. "Beta?"
"Dadi, I’m okay." Noor lied. "Bas kaam zyada hai."
After the call, Noor punched the wall.
Her knuckles bled.
Aisha handed her ice. "Dr. Malik, we can take down the servers. But they’ll be back in 6 hours. They’re using decentralized AI. No single server."
Noor wiped her hands. "Then we don’t take down the servers. We take down the idea."
---
**Flashback: 6 Months Ago. Board Meeting.**
"We need to fight AI with AI," Noor had said.
"Build 'Nur'. Our own protocol. It learns, it hunts, it protects."
The board said no. "Too expensive. Too risky."
Noor had funded it herself. From her inheritance.
Now "Nur" was 90% done.
And she was going to deploy it. Unfinished.
---
**12 Hours Later. Nur Goes Live.**
Noor personally pushed the code.
Nur was not a weapon.
Nur was a guardian.
It scanned the dark web, VR worlds, crypto wallets.
And when it found a child, it did 3 things:
1. Alerted police with GPS
2. Flooded the auction with 10,000 fake bidders to crash the price
3. Sent a message to the buyer: *We see you. We know you.*
In the first hour: 40 rescues.
In the second: 80.
Phantom’s chat rooms exploded:
*"They have AI. They’re watching us."*
*"Pull out. Now."*
Noor watched the numbers go up.
For the first time in days, she breathed.
Then her phone rang. Unknown.
She answered. "Who is this?"
"Hello, Dr. Malik." Male voice. Russian accent. "Congratulations. You built something beautiful."
"Who are you?"
"I’m Pavel’s brother. And I’m the one who taught Phantom to think." He laughed. "You want to play AI vs AI? Let’s play."
Click.
Aisha ran in. "They’re attacking Nur. DDoS. 4 million bots."
Noor sat down. "Let them."
---
**24 Hours. War.**
Nur vs Phantom AI.
It was like watching 2 gods fight.
Nur saved 312 children.
Phantom leaked 50,000 more fake profiles to drown Nur.
Media called it: "THE FIRST AI WAR FOR CHILDREN"
Protesters outside Alina HQ: "SHUT DOWN NUR. IT’S INVADING PRIVACY"
Other protesters: "SAVE THE CHILDREN. LET NUR WORK"
Noor didn’t sleep. Didn’t eat.
She just coded. With Aisha. With 20 engineers.
At hour 36, Nur found something.
A pattern.
All Phantom buyers paid to the same 3 crypto wallets.
And those wallets cashed out in one place: Dubai.
Noor called Interpol. "I need a raid. Now."
---
**Dubai. 48 Hours Later.**
Biggest cybercrime raid in history.
47 arrests.
$900 million seized.
And in a penthouse: The man from the call.
Name: Viktor. Pavel’s older brother. Phantom’s architect.
Noor was there. She watched them cuff him.
Viktor smiled at her. "You think this ends it? AI doesn’t die."
Noor knelt down. "No. But neither does light."
---
**1 Week Later. Backlash.**
"DR. MALIK ACCUSED OF ILLEGAL SURVEILLANCE"
"UN TO INVESTIGATE ALINA FOUNDATION"
"RESIGN NOOR"
Amina flew to Geneva.
Sat in Noor’s office. "Beta, tum theek ho?"
Noor looked terrible. 10 kilos down. Eyes sunken.
"I’m fine, Khala."
"Jhoot." Amina held her face. "Tum Nana ki tarah ban rahi ho. Akeli. Andar se toot rahi ho."
Noor broke. "Khala, they used Zara’s face. What if they use her real face next?"
Amina hugged her. "Toh hum mil ke larain ge. Akeli nahi."
---
**3 Days Later. The Decision.**
UN Hearing.
"Dr. Malik, did you authorize Nur to scan private citizens without warrant?" a senator asked.
Noor stood up. "Yes."
Gasps.
"And would I do it again? Yes." Noor looked at every camera. "Because 312 children are alive today because I did. Because Zara’s face isn’t being sold anymore because I did."
She played a video.
12 kids. Different countries. Saying "Thank you, Dr. Malik."
The room was silent.
Then: Standing ovation.
The UN voted: Nur stays. With oversight.
And $2 billion in funding.
---
**2 Months Later. Alina Villa. Healing.**
Noor was home for 2 weeks. First time in a year.
Zara, 22, made her chai every morning.
Amina and Aayat fussed over her.
One night, Noor and Amina were on the roof.
"Khala, I’m scared," Noor said. "Of becoming Nana. Of the anger."
Amina smiled. "Tum Nana nahi ho. Tum Noor ho."
"How are you so sure?"
"Because Nana fought so he wouldn’t have to feel.
Tum larti ho taake tum mehsoos kar sako." Amina kissed her head. "Big difference."
Noor cried. For the first time in months.
---
**6 Months Later. Nur 2.0 Launch.**
Global. Free. In 14 languages.
Tagline: *No child is invisible.*
In the first month: 1.2 million alerts. 9000 rescues.
Phantom 2.0 was dead.
Viktor got life.
At the launch event, Noor gave a 2 minute speech:
"My grandfather taught me that monsters are real.
My aunt taught me that law can beat them.
I’m teaching AI that children are not for sale.
We are not ghosts anymore.
We are light.
And light spreads."
---
**Epilogue: 5 Years Later. Noor is 47.**
Nur is in every country.
Zara runs the medical wing.
Amina writes books.
Aayat passed away peacefully at 91. Holding Noor’s hand.
One day, a letter came. No return address.
Inside: A child’s drawing.
A woman in a blue cloak. Holding hands with 10 kids.
Caption: *Thank you, Light.*
On the back: *From Sara. Age 20. She draws unicorns now.*
Noor framed it. Next to Nana’s letter.
---
**Final Scene. Geneva. Night.**
Noor, 47, on the roof of Alina HQ.
Alone.
She looked at the stars.
Then at her phone.
Photo: Ayaan, Amina, Aayat, Zara, and her.
She whispered: "Nana, dekh rahe ho?"
The wind answered.
She smiled. "Acha. Phir kaam karte hain."
Because the war wasn’t over.
It never would be.
But neither was the light.
And the light had a name now.
Noor.
