Long Time Coming

His Surprise

Now I have to find a way to pull off some midnight surprise. I absolutely adored the midnight helicopter ride. I want to build on the midnight thing. A girl really can enjoy a mani-pedi with her man if he is agreeable. I am so lucky that mine did it with me. I loved holding his hand after our manicures were finished, stealing kisses, talking and laughing about everything and nothing. The joy that man gives me is inexplicable. If I can just give him a small piece of what he makes me feel, then it will be the least that I can do.

"Sweetie, I'm going to the restroom, I'll be right back." She got up from the table.

"Excuse me." She said.

"Yes ma'am"

"Can you tell me if there are any midnight activities going on tonight or tomorrow night? Preferably a midnight event?"

"Actually, right now Let's Roam Denver is doing a Midnight Scavenger Hunt, which is a limited-time event to get exposure of the things that are open at night. It starts every thirty minutes from 10 pm to 3 am. It is a good way to discover the city, sight see and have an adventure at night.

"Great. How do I get the tickets?"

" You just go to city hall and they will sign you up for the next tour. My personal opinion is it is really fun and a fresh perspective on this beautiful city."

"Thank you. They are open until 3 am, right? Ohh and can you arrange for us to get a ride at about 11:45 this evening? We'll go at midnight."

"Yes, ma'am, I will have a car waiting out front for you," he said.

"Thank you again," Sharon said.

Sharon went to the elevator to head back to their room. She walked into the room and saw him on the balcony. He turned and looked at her and smiled. She smiled back at him and made her way to him.

"So I ordered dinner, is that OK?" He asked, wrapping his arms around her.

"Of course. I will trust you with the menu. So far, you haven't let me down. Handsome." She smiled up at him.

"Is the balcony ok for dinner? I really like eating out there in nature. I may have to change where I want to live. The scenery is amazing. I'm not sure how I'm going to leave it." He said nuzzling her neck.

"How about one more midnight activity?" She asked hopefully.

"Anything you want. I'm game. What are we learning?"

"How about Denver?"

"Sounds interesting. Let's do it. Shall we nap?" He said

"Yes. It will be a little bit longer than your tour", she said.

"You're in charge. Just tell me what to do and when. I'm all yours. Can't wait to see what you have planned." He said, cuddling her.

She stood on the tip of her toes to kiss his lips. "Sounds good. We leave at midnight."

"That's good just enough time to nap and cuddle. Dinner should be here in about ten minutes. Right now I just want to hold you." He said.

"You will get no argument from me." She said

They ate dinner on the balcony just talking about everything and nothing. Then they laid down still talking and soon they both drifted off to sleep. The alarm went off and he jumped up, excited that she planned something for him. She doesn't have to do anything for me, but the fact that she did was enough of a tell sign of how she really feels. She was sleeping so peacefully and he was ready to get to her adventure. He caressed her face. "wake up sleepy head, I'm ready to go and do something" He whispered in her ear.

She smiled and said "let's go, get dressed in some walking clothes. That's the only clue you get." She leaned over, kissed him then rolled out of bed to get ready.

They loaded up in the car and headed downtown.

"So choose the one we are going on" she said, as be stood in front of the list of scavenger hunts they could do.

" I choose ziplining. Are you OK with that? " He asked her. Be want she of of she as afraid of heights.

"Sounds good to me"

Sarah, at last that's what her nametag said, "That should be fun. We started it this season and everyone has raved about it."She said smiling.

" You haven't been yet or don't want to go? " Sharon asked.

"Since its opened I have had to work. I really wish I could go. I LOVE Ziplining. The few times I've been off it as closed for one reason of another. OK the shuttle should be leaving in five minutes just outside the door, the bus will have zipline on it. The same bus will bring you back when it's over. Have a good t time."

"Thank you" They said at the same time.

They stepped outside just as four buses pulled up. Zipline, Music, Walking and Cycling buses had arrived. They went to the zip line sign in case the driver needed to get off the bus.

"I'm so glad we came. We would have missed this if not for you. How did you find out about this?" He asked.

"Front desk." She simply replied.

He leaned down and kissed her as the extra lights came on around downtown Denver.

"Ziplining you can now board the bus. We will depart in three minutes." Called the driver.

They boarded the bus with thirty other people so excited about the adventure. The bus was full of excited chatter as they left downtown. Most places were beautifully lit to enchant the night owls and invite them in. They arrived just outside of town to see a massive structure. Everyone looked at the medieval looking Castle. Sharon had a moment where she was going to back out but noticed three wires connecting some poles. Markus grabbed her hand and squeezed lightly to confirm he as there for her. When she looked at him he smiled big for her, making her feel content and courageous. They got off the bus to their smiling guide.

"Good evening, my name is Marco and I will be leading your tour tonight. Please remember you will be safe and every third person will be an employee who have a name tag on. Shall you need anything let one of us know and we will remedy the problem for you. Please enjoy this ride. Follow me to our suit up station and we can get additional equipment to begin our tour."

They all got suited up, instructions and camera to get to the starting line.

Nerves started to kick in just when Markus grabbed her hand grinning like a fool at her. She took a deep breath smiled at him.

"I'm right behind you." He whispered in her ear.

She stepped up as it was her turn to be hooked up and go to the first station as they were told. She thought of why she was up there and checked the security of the camera so she can get her shots as she passed by. As she got on the platform she turned to watch him to see if this was something he liked and she snapped a picture of him for their house and his mom.

They finished the zip line courses with both of them having taken quite a few pictures. Since it was a digital camera all the pictures would be printed into an album for them to have for $5. The zipline was so fun that when they go back downtown they decided to do the walking scavenger hunt also. They visited some of the cutest shops. Snacked on some delicious Denver late night specialty items. Walked two miles, discovered late night Denver, sat in a karaoke bar and had a glass of wine. On the drive back to the hotel they discussed. What they saw and how the experience was for them both. They were crawling into bed at 4am.

" I really liked that downtown excursion you planned. I didn't think you wanted to zip line but just went with me." He said

"I was very interested in zip lining just never had an opportunity to do it. I really enjoyed it. How about you?"

"I truly enjoyed it and I am forever grateful that you took me. I'm glad I chose you. Now I can really live and enjoy life. I can try new things, go new places, meet new people. I'm very excited for our future." He kissed her forehead and cheek.

"I'm glad you liked my surprise. I just wanted to show you that I will try to give you a good surprise occasionally. We are in this relationship together and we will do things for each other and I mean it. I will let you spoil me but you have to let spoil you also. I love you so much thanks for an amazing day. She snuggled into his chest with his arms around her. Both fell into dreamless sleep
