Long Time Coming

Addressing Potential Conflict

        So mom came home and gave me Sharon's number. To say I was surprised was an understatement. I had not asked Sharon for her number because I wanted her to want to  talk to me regularly and to give me her number herself. I'm not sure what happened today that my  mom came home with her number for me but I'm not about to look a gift horse in the mouth and ask a question. Once I shower and relax a little I'll give her a call and check on her. He crawled into bed and checking the clock thinking he should be safe to call Sharon he dialed her number.

"Hello?"

"Hey, this is Markus, mom gave me your number, so I'm just calling to see what is up? I didn't even think about if it is too late to call you. Are you ok with me calling right now?"

"Hey, I just laid down so it's not really a problem. I did want to talk to you about some decisions I have made. Do you have sometime right now?"

" Yes I do, there will never be a time when I don't have time for you. You are important to me."

" Thanks, I needed to hear that. I will give this thing a shot if we overcome some serious problems before we start!"

"What conflict do we have?"

  "1. Where do you live 2.Any women I have to worry about 3 Where do you see our relationship going 4 Do you really think i'm the woman for you?"

"First of all. Yes no question about it you are the woman for me. I live here right now. No women to speak of. we are going straight to the alter if it was up to me. Did i get them all or did i miss one?"

"No you didn't miss anything but why would you go straight to marrying me?"

    "Because i know what I want and need and I also know that you fit both criteria and it's no need to settle for less when I can have the best."

    " Good point, but why are you so confident that I haven't changed in twenty years? How are  you sure I'm still the reckless girl that slept with you on your wedding day.?"

    "You're not the reckless girl, you never were. What happened on my wedding day was the best thing to ever happen to me. The s*x was great but it was what I saw while i was inside that let me know that the woman I fell in love with that day wasn't going anywhere. Furthermore, I already saw her since i seen you so therefore. I already know you have everything I want, need and desire. We're too old to be wasting time like we don't know what life is about. I won't   waste mine with anyone else again. It's you or no one for me and I'm here to prove that to you. You are my retirement goal and whatever that takes it's what i'm doing."

    "Why are you making this hard on me? Why can't you just move on with your life and let me stay small and quiet? Why do you need me?"

 "Because you are my happiness, I've been waiting twenty years for my heart to beat again. I will not let this opportunity pass me by, and i'm hoping you won't either. I'm not here to make your life hard, I'm actually to make it easier and shoulder your burdens so you can be free of all the things that drag you down. Sharon more than anything in this world all I want is to see you light up the world with your smile. Even if it means just right here in St. Joe or many trips around the work. "

    "Next thing I want to talk about is your ex-wife? What is your status with her, do I need to worry about her coming for you? IF she do then will you still choose me or will it be her?"

    "Since you asked I'll tell you, I spoke with Carolyn yesterday, as a matter of fact I invited her down to meet with US together. She is claiming to want me back but I don't think she really do, I think she has hit a dry patch and she wants to use me as a filler. She did say she wanted to meet you so I told her she can as long as I'm there. If faced with you two, I'd choose you every time. Carolyn doesn't know that I know it's money and security she is after. She recently lost her job and she's not sure of how she's going to make the payments and the men she have been with isn't going to help her so I'm sure it's money related. She thinks i'm still pining for her. I won't be  an i***t again and lose you. I've not tasted your lips again so there is always that bonus waiting for me and keeping me focused. Your sweet cocoa lips are the stars of my fantasy, just a good juicy kiss that will take me back to that day. Yeah baby it's you all day everyday, has been for the past twenty years and will be for the rest of my life. Can you please put me out of my misery and let's be boyfriend and girlfriend, Please?????"

    How do you respond to that. I don't have an answer for that. He's very serious about this...

    "Ok. I'll make a deal with you, you give me one year and show me what you can bring to a relationship and one year to the day i will let you know if you still make my heart beat fast or if i'm over you. Deal?"

    "I will only accept this if this deal starts today?"

    "5 AM in the morning, we are officially courting, that give you until then to tie up any loose ends you have sweets and not give me a reason to believe that we can't work and you aren't sincere and just want to know if you can hit again"

    " If you think this is about getting in your pants you couldn't be farther from  the truth. It's about a task way harder than that baby. It's about permanently making you mines. Heart, mind, body and soul, just as I belong to you. 5 AM it is. I'll arrange everything with Carolyn so you and mom don't have to do anything. Carolyn said she has been trying to sweet talk mom into helping her get me back."    

    "Then I think we definitely need a sit down with her and make sure you are over her."

    "That's easy to prove."

    "I'm going to need that proven. So tomorrow we will start courting. Is there anything you need from me?"

    "Yes, I need you to have an open mind and just trust me. Trust me that you are all I want. Trust me to take care of you. Let me take the reins of this relationship and follow my lead. That's all  I'm asking for you to do."
