Chapter 2: Tribute to Olivia

All of the students are in the hallway actually in front of Olivia’s locker as we’re getting closer to her locker I can hear their topic about the night that Olivia went missing. I can even smell her favorite scent of flower; her locker was filled with letters and memories they shared with her. We passed by her locker and saw her big picture was getting off in the school officers board. She was known as the great president of the school and the great leader of their cheer leading dance team its sad for her team and her friends also that their leader are gone all they do is to grief as they don’t see Olivia in the first day of school.

We found our classroom, Vincent and I are classmates while Lucas and Alice are on the other section. Vincent sat beside me at first I know what topic he want to talk about but I wait him to ask me, as I look to the entrance door I saw Hannah with her squad the members of Olivia’s cheer leading team. She and her squad wears all black attire as if they we’re really grieving………I mean her squad was really grieving but Hannah? I don’t think so.

‘’ohh Olivia……me and your squad are really sad about what happen to you! If you see us now. Yes!! I know right! We’re crying because we really really miss you’’ and then Hannah start a show again.

Our teacher came in and start to talk about how was great is Olivia when it comes to being leader after that she change the topic about the new school officers of the school. While we’re listening to our teacher a noise from the hallway appear the students heard it and left their rooms to look if what’s that noise came from.

‘’ what was that?’’ Vincent asks me.

We saw Sarah screaming for help while pointing to the cheerleading room when the teachers came to see what was in there they said it smells stinks in Olivia’s locker, when they decided to open it they saw the body of Olivia she has multiple knife stabs, her face was burned her pretty eyes are gone and her lips were stitched. The authorities came and advised the principal to end the class for today. All of the students are shocked but we didn’t see Jonathan in the school today, he is Olivia’s boyfriend he’s the captain of the football team of our school. Vince is still shock as he saw the body of Olivia. While we’re walking Alice invited us to their house and we all agreed.

While we we’re eating I noticed that Vincent is still quiet, I ask him ‘’ what’s up? ‘’ and tapped his shoulder.

‘’ Nothing it’s about what happen earlier ‘’ he said. I called Lucas and Alice for them to join us. We sat on the floor and comfort Vincent. I know there’s something wrong with him so I started talking. ‘’everything happens is still shocking’’ I said and faced Vincent ‘’ you can tell us what’s bothering you’’

‘’ actually there’s nothing wrong tiffy, it’s just a weird and creepy day for me after what happen to Olivia’’ he said‘’ it’s strange I didn’t saw Jonathan in school today’’ Lucas said. Thank God I wasn’t the one who noticed.

‘’ I have something to tell y’all’’ I said. Alice sat by my side ‘’ what is it? It seems you’re sad about it ‘’ she said.

‘’ I found out that my dad and Mrs. Denise are having an affair ‘’ I said. They were shocked. ‘’ but guys I have some thought about this’’ I added.

‘’ what is it tiffy?’’ Alice asked me.

‘’ I’m not sure about this but maybe and what if dad is the killer? ‘’ I said. As I was expecting they freaked out. ‘’ what?! Are you even sure on what are you saying? ‘’ Lucas confusedly said. ‘’That’s why I was thinking maybe one of them maybe it’s my dad or her own mom ‘’ as I can think for now is my dad being my suspect on what happened to Olivia.

‘’ Maybe Olivia found out that her mother and my dad was having an affair ‘’ I added.

At this moment we’re all confused and thinking about Olivia, curiosity kill us all that’s why we agreed that we will find some evidence about the murder of Olivia and find out what really happen to her.

When I got home I saw dad in the living room drinking his whisky I wonder if he knew that I know what he was hiding from mom.

He saw me and was eager to hug me but I refused. ‘’ what’s the matter sweetie? ‘’ he asked me.

I’m disgust of him and don’t want him to even touch me as I can remember he’s my suspect about the murder of Olivia, him and her mistress. ‘’ sorry daddy I’m tired, I want to rest’’ I said.

‘’well if that’s the case you should rest by the way your mom was waiting for you since she knew what happen in your school earlier’’ he said. ‘’ Goodnight my princess ‘’ he added.

I went to mom and dad’s bedroom and dad was right mom was waiting for me. I hugged her and ask why did she wait for me, but she did not answer me. It’s hard for me to hug mom especially at this time.

‘’ sweetie be careful every time ok? ‘’ she said.

I was confused that I asked her about Olivia’s body.

‘’ mom I know you’ve heard about what happen at school earlier but have you met Olivia and her family? ‘’ but she ignored me she just said that it’s getting late and I should take some rest because I have class tomorrow, so I agreed but it’s weird she didn’t answer me. Maybe she’s right it’s getting late and she should rest too.

I left their bedroom and walked through my bedroom when some strange noise coming down stairs appear, I heard my dad talking to someone I stop for me to hear what are they talking about when someone pulls my hair. ‘’ ouch! Hey! ‘’

‘’ what do you think are you doing? ‘’ Toffer said and released my hair.

‘’ I’m just curious ok!’’

I irritate said. He look down at dad and listen too when Rafael saw us. ‘’hey what the two of you doing?’’ and laughed. He saw dad was on the phone downstairs. ‘’ oh guys you shouldn’t listen to someone’s call stop now and go to your rooms’’ he said.

I and Toffer went to our rooms for good but still I’m curious it’s just dad sounds mad but I should focus to Olivia’s murder case.

In the morning I saw mom in the kitchen cooking some breakfast but dad isn’t home, same as Rafael who has to be early because of his café and Toffer has to be early because he has a football practice. I walked in and mom saw me.

‘’oh sweetie about last night I don’t know about Olivia’s family but that girl I know her because of what happen yesterday’’ she said.

Jeez why she’s being so defensive it’s kinda strange.

‘’mom I can’t eat breakfast Vincent was waiting for me outside I don’t want to be late’’ I kissed her and left the house. I saw Vincent outside he’s early I was just joking to mom that he’s outside.

‘’hey early bird ’’ I teased him.

‘’I already planned that I should be early today you donkey’’ he said while smiling and started to walk. Yuck that smile looks weird every time he does that.

‘’wait you donkey!!’’

I yelled. Jeez this man walks really fast. While we’re walking we saw Jonathan in his car.

‘’ Jonathan can we talk for a minute? ‘’ Vincent ask him. He agreed and let us in to his car. ‘’ how was your relationship with Olivia?’’ Vincent asks him. As he heard the question he started to cry.

‘’ look man I really love Olivia to be honest the last time that I saw her she was very happy, we celebrated our dog’s birthday but there’s strange happen when someone text’s her, it was august 12 in the night when she said that I don’t need to drive her home and I should rest.

She said that she really love me, after that I waited for her to text me if she came home, but I didn’t receive any texts from her. And in the morning I just found out that she’s missing’’ he said.

‘’thanks for your story man, we know how sad are you right now and we’re just here for you’’ Vincent added and we decided to leave his car.

When we entered the school we heard that principal foxy has announcement in the hall. ‘’ Good morning students and teachers yesterday wasn’t nice first day of classes for all of us. I know all of us, the family and friends of Olivia are still grieving and we understand how you feel right now. And because of that let us pray for the peace of Olivia's soul" principal foxy said. "Olivia is a great leader and president of the school it’s sad to say that she’s gone so starting tomorrow you can fill up the paper that you teacher will gave to each one of you, in that paper you will write the name of the student who you want to run as the new school officers. We will start our election in September 5 that is the last day of Olivia’s term as the president of the school, that’s all for this morning chop chop’’

‘’I’ll put you in the list Tiffany’’ Lucas said.

‘’yeah Lucas is right we should put Tiffany on the list she’s a great leader’’ one of the student said.

‘’ Shut it nerd, I must win this election as a tribute to my lovely friend Olivia’’ Hannah said. Of course her squad will agree, to be honest Hannah isn’t bad when it comes to being leader.

‘’Maybe you won’t agree because since last year you can’t even beat Olivia when it comes to voting, you really wanted to be the president of the school but you can’t, I was thinking maybe you killed Olivia for you to be the next president of the school….aren’t you?’’

Hannah said to me and pushed me.

My temper just blow out and confronted her for the first time ‘’ really? You’re suspecting me? Who’s the one cried on the last year’s cheerleading contest?

just remember Hannah when it comes to competition you’re the one who’s Olivia’s biggest enemy it wasn’t me, and I was also thinking how angry you are to Olivia so can I ask you the same question?’’ I said and went on her back.

‘’ did you killed Olivia? ‘’

I whispered and left her. While the students are still watching her

‘’what are you looking for? The show is over bitches’’ she yelled.’’ I’ll assure you can’t win against me’’ she added.

We entered our classroom and the listings of the candidates are starting. I’m not new at this but I’m still nervous.

‘’ hey Alice are you sure about this?’’ I asked her.

‘’come on TIffy this isn’t new for you and besides we’re here to support you’’ Vincent said.

‘’ I’m done I already list Tiffany’s name on the president list’’ Lucas said.

The listing of the candidates are done the results will found out in the next two weeks as usual.

‘’aren’t you confused what happen earlier in the hallway with Hannah and Tiffany?’’ I heard Vincent ask Lucas.

‘’of course the two of you are confused of I did, I just stand for myself that I’m human too’’ I said.
