10. Splitting of Soul

Felicity POV

I scanned the room looking for Francis when I saw him talking to a man in a dark suit in the corner. I didn’t want my brother to join a pack yet and I knew this would happen. Francis was a well-built human who obviously knew about wolves so I was expecting a few Alphas to want him in their packs as a warrior. Before I reached him I felt someone grab my arm and swing me round to face them. I looked at the man who was holding my right arm in his and guided my left onto his shoulder whilst putting his on my waist, it was Lucas and he was staring to dance with me.

“I see you still remember the moves I taught you” he was referring to the time he taught me how to dance at his birthday party, only he didn’t see me, I was disguised as Lily, I looked down at my wrist to double check if I was still wearing the bracelet.

“Sorry?” I didn’t know what else to say, Lucas wasn’t my mate so why would he see me, unless the witch lied.

“Lily don’t play dumb with me. I missed you” he whispered into my ear. I had to blink a few times and look at his face to double check if he was drunk, but he was sober as a judge.

“Lucas listen I” I started.

“It’s Alpha Lucas now, I can do it Lily. I can turn you” what was he talking about?!

 I couldn’t get my head around what he was saying or why. I grabbed his arm and walked out on the balcony where I was sure no one would see us. Lucas tried to approach me but I stepped back gesturing for him to move back.

“Don’t be like that you know I can defeat you. I’ve done it once before” he said.

“Seriously, Alpha Lucas what are you talking about?!” I took another step back and ran my hands through my hair.

“Lily I have  waited for you all these years, I love you to the moon and back and you know that. Please don’t do this to me. I came here alone and I thought I would find my mate but I found something so much better. I found you again” he grabbed my hand and pulled me into him, taking in my smell.

“Lucas you have to stop” I whispered. If Kilian saw me now he would wreck the whole Estate, or better yet maybe I should let him kiss me, for all he knew he would be kissing Lily.

“I never stopped loving you, I need to kiss you again” he confessed.

“YOU LOVE LILY?! YOU KISSED HER?!” I shouted out, realising what I had done I covered my mouth with my hands, regretting it.

Lucas’ desire was replaced with anger and confusion. He realised that it wasn’t Lily he just confessed his love to.

“Who are you?” he tried to reach for my throat but I manged to get out of his way and trip him over. “WHO ARE YOU?!” He was staring to bring his wolf out.

“Stand down” I used Estrid’s voice to command him, it was obvious that I used my Royal power.

“Felicity?” he seemed puzzled.

“Do you hate me Lucas?” I asked.

“With every fibre in my body, if it wasn’t for the royal blood you would be dead!” he roared. I was happy that the music in the hall was loud enough to mask his rage.

I took my bracelet off and stood in front of Lucas in my normal form. I saw black hair flowing down my shoulders and I felt whole again. I looked up at Lucas who was sipping with loathing and anger towards me.

“What have I don’t to make you hate me so much?” I asked.

“You rejected Kilian! You were perfect for him and for Marble. How can you be so heartless and just leave him. I guess all Daughters do that, just pretend to love someone and leave them!” he was walking around me.

“I had enough of this!” I grabbed the knife that was hidden in my sleeve and I stared to cut my palm. “You follow Kilian blindly, just like you followed Ruby. I am sick and tired to being the one to blame when I was the one who was left alone!” I cut across my palm and held it up to show him.

“I FELICITY CASTOR, SWEAR TO YOU LUCAS CASTOR BY A BLOOD OATH THAT I DID NOT REJECT MY MATE… HE REJECTED ME!” I screamed the blood oath in his face as tears ran down my face.

“You’re lying” he whispered in shock.

“If I was lying I would be lying dead. Lucas I was left on my own at the birthing table after he took Cassius and I heard his rejection. He lied to you, to all of you. I loved him more than I have loved anyone. I gave up my chance to be the Mother just to be with him, not to get my powers. I needed him I loved him… and he rejected me” I wasn’t expecting what Lucas did next. He just simply hugged me.

“He lied to all of us” Lucas finally spoke out. “We all thought you used us to gain your power and then left us” he released me from my hug and started to go back into the hall. “You coming?” he asked.

“You never answered my question?” I put my hands on my hips and I put the bracelet back on. “Do you love Lily?”

I saw a small grin on his face and he took his hand out gesturing for me to follow him into the hall.

“I always have” he confessed.

After a few minutes, the music stopped and I saw everyone turning their gazes to the stage at the front of the hall. Curiosity got the better of me and I had to know what was happening. Lucas turned back towards me and just mouthed something, but I couldn’t make out what he was saying.

“I’m sorry” he finally whispered. What was he sorry for?

“Everyone, welcome to Marble Pack” Kilian’s voice boomed in the hall. “This is the annual event that brings multiple Packs together. I am happy to see so many couples already” he looked over to the woman next to him. She was wearing a plain A line black dress with silver heels and purple accessories. They matched perfectly with her eyes, I saw them before, it was the woman in my old bedroom. This was Violet. What Francis said about her was true, her aura was dark, but I couldn’t figure out why.

“But this is not just a normal party” she continued his speech. “Welcome to our engagement party” her speech was welcomed by Marble members howling and cheering. “I AM YOUR FUTURE LUNA” She announced.

I stood at the back of the hall and I was trying to catch my breath, there were so many people in front of me but I was only met with Kilian’s looking down at me. There was no emotion left, I have just had s*x with him 20 minutes ago and he was engaged to her this whole time. He was now a liar and a cheater. The Kilian I once knew was truly dead.

I took a few steps back; I didn’t want to be no where near him. I ran out of the estate and headed towards the forest, I was jumping over branches and I heard someone running behind me.

“Felicity wait!” Lucas’ voice sounded in the forest.

Estrid please come out, I begged her.

No, please don’t make me- She was refusing, out of the two of us she was always the more positive one, the optimistic one. Always hoping that Kilian would come back, seeing another woman take the claim to Marble shattered her heart.

“FELICITY WHERE ARE YOU ?!” Lucas was further away than before.

I tripped over and fell on my knees; I didn’t have enough strength to get up.

“ESTRID GET OUT” I commanded, but nothing happened. “ESTRID PLEASE I NEED YOU!” I shouted into the air. Unexpectedly, I felt my bones breaking and a haze took over. I  couldn’t see anything but I felt like I was losing a part of me, I became empty and cold.

I don’t know how long I’ve been on the floor for but when I woke up I saw a black wolf standing in front of me. I never see it before but then I saw its eyes. It was Estrid, she was standing in front of me, nudging me with her nose. I stood up and realised how petrified she was.

Estrid can you hear me? I asked through the mind link. I didn’t know if it would work as we were now separate but I had to try.

Yes, what happened? She sounded like she was about to cry.

“Felicity are you okay?” Lucas ran to my side and looked over my body. “Whoa” he noticed Estrid standing there.

“Lucas what happened to me?” I saw Estrid whimpering behind him.

“Felicity, you split your soul. Only royals have that power. You literally broke your heart and your wolf came out”.
