6. Sweet Boy

I stood still not moving a muscle, my own son ran past me but what could I expect, he believes that his mother didn’t love him that she abandoned him and it was all Kilian’s fault. I turned around to see Kilian crouching down stroking Cassius’ hair.

“Why weren’t you in your room” he asked softly. He got out of Kilian’s hug and turned around to look at us. His eyes stopped on me and I felt like I needed to cry. For the first time in four years my eyes were tearing up. His eyes were the same as mine and Francis’ there was no denying the fact that he was my son. “Who are these people Daddy?”

“They’re my… friends” Kilian answered.

I couldn’t take it, I came here to kill my supposed father and I found two people who were my family, my real family and one of them was abused by my mate and the other was being lied to. I walked over to the widow away from the situation, I was slowly starting to hyperventilate and my hands were beginning to shake. I had to go home I couldn’t stay here anymore as much as I wanted to be near my son I couldn’t take the heartache. I turned around and faced Kilian who was already looking at me. Estrid hid to the back of my head, out of the two of us it seemed that I was the stronger one.

“Cassius? Cassius where are you” I heard a woman’s voice down the hall.

“He’s in here Violet” Kilian called.

A woman came into the room, with black hair and purple eyes, she didn’t even look at any of us, she went straight to pick up Cassius from Kilian’s arms. Suddenly I heard a growl come from Francis. He did have a wolf but why did he growl at her.

“Mommy!” Cassius called.

I turned around and faced the window again. There was no point in my fighting anymore, my own child doesn’t know me, and he has a family, a mother and a father. He didn’t need me.  I felt like my lungs have collapsed and I didn’t have any air to breathe, I covered my mouth to stop myself from crying out loud. I didn’t want the woman to see me, anyone would know I’m his mother. I needed to move on, Kilian has. I heard a kiss from behind me and I knew Kilian kissed her goodbye. After the door was shut I turned around and faced Francis.

“We need to leave. Alpha Castor” I turned to face Kilian and I heard Bane whimper. “Thank you for everything, I’m taking Francis back to the Daughter’s” I took my coat and we were getting to leave.

“Wait!” He called back stopping us, his actions gave him away, he didn’t know what to say or why he stopped us from leaving. “Clothes, Francis needs clothes. I don’t think the Daughters have any male clothing. If you wait a while I can get some clothes for him” I could see that he was mind linking someone.

“Thank you” I said. “We will wait in the car. We know that his mate in not at Marble as she would be here already so we will be moving on” I walked out of the room and towards the car. I needed to be out of there, I needed to leave Marble and the life I had once and for all.

“Fury wait” Poppy called behind me. “Psstttt, hey!” she whispered.

“What?!” I just wanted to leave.

“This is your chance to meet him, follow me! It will be a while until they get Francis’ stuff ready so come on” she grabbed my hand and went to the top floor of the estate. We knew that it was reserved for Alpha’s family so my son had to be here. “You’re his mother, so which room is he in?” she asked. I never used my bond with my son to find him but I was being pulled to one of the rooms next to my old bedroom.

I slowly walked in and peeped my head into the room, in the corner there was a small bed with a child sleeping in it. Estrid came out and started purring at the sight of her pup. I could take him now and no one would notice. But he had to stay here, he was the next Alpha.

The whole room was covered in toys and he was cuddling a small stuffed black wolf. I walked over and I noticed that when his eyes are closed he actually looks like Kilian, he had his nose and he was frowning in his sleep. I stoked his face and electricity passed through my body, I never wanted to forget this feeling.

“He looks like her” Poppy whispered.

“Yeah, a spitting image” I didn’t take my eyes off of him.

“I’ll leave you to it” she patted my shoulder and left quietly.

I couldn’t believe my luck, I always believed that I would never see my child and now he was in front of. He was the most innocent baby I have ever seen. I have missed four years of his life and I would never forgive Kilian for it, but at the same time he has raised a beautiful boy.

“Hey baby, I don’t know if I will ever see you again but I want you to know that I have loved you every second of your life and it wasn’t my decision not to be in your life. Your father has done an amazing job raising you and I know he will continue to do so. You have my blood running through you and if you ever need anything I will be there for you” I was holding back the tears as I whispered it to him. “You life will be filled with people that love you. Never forget your worth baby boy and never give up” I bent down to give him a kiss on the cheek.

“He won’t” I heard Kilian say behind me.

“He wont what?” I asked, rubbing the tears from my cheeks.

“He will never give up, he is the most stubborn wolf there is. He takes after you” he came and stood next to me looking down at Cassius.

“You named him Cassius, didn’t I say it would be child abuse to name him Cassius Castor” I joked.

“Well you weren’t here to argue with me about it anymore”.

“Right that’s true.” I knew I need to leave and fast. “Thank you for raising him Kilian. I’ll leave you to it” I turned around and my palm brushed against his making me get an electric shock, it was as though our mate bond was there.

“Wait hold on” he said louder making Cassius stir in his sleep. “I know Francis needs to find his mate, we are hosting a party next week and all the single wolves from the nearby packs will be there. He should come and maybe… you could come with him” he said quietly.

“I can’t come with him, the whole pack will recognise me”.

“I guess we will have to do something about that, this is his one chance to possibly find his mate”.
