Chapter 16: Do You Say That I'm A Sweetheart? (2 of 2)

“They’re curious and they want to experience the thriller without knowing the risk.” Matthew responded. “Our client is the wife of the director; she’s being haunted by the white lady in those photos.”

“She already told her husband but of course, he wouldn’t believe her.” Ashton continued. “As the President, I approved this mission because of the case urgency, that said white lady kills her victim in five days so we have to execute the plan by tomorrow.”

“Here are the photos of the white lady victims.” Pluto laid out the horrifying photos on the table.

“I’ve seen dead bodies before with fresh blood splashing from their flesh but I’ve never seen these kinds of dead bodies before.” I said.

“Oh, she’s into gore.” Troye responded. “Darling, what you’ve seen before is just the tip of the iceberg, although I know what it feels like to see freaky death right in front of you but what we handle here in SOS is beyond human comprehension.”

“This will be your first mission with everyone, Desa.” Alessia tapping my shoulders. “I don’t know if it has the same effect on you but when these four gentlemen here got the client the level of difficulty is life threatening for Troye and me.”

“Wait are we going to die in this mission??!” I asked cautiously.

“Why are you afraid of death?” Luke asked. “Don’t worry we got a medic.” referring to Diso who’s listening quietly.

“Not that I’m afraid of it, what scared me the most is being the sole survivor again. Why are you risking your life for something that isn’t your problem? Are you all lunatics??” looking at everyone.

“Because we can help.” Michael answered. “If not us, who will do it then? Everyone of us in here got their own story and the common thing that we all have is that we’re aware of paranormal activities.”

“Nice, Michael.” Calum gives him a high-five. “Yeah, we’re lunatics, but the world we live in is no different, it’s a crazy world.”

“This is a group of peculiar people Desa, I can give you an out if you want to.” Diso turns to me. “I don’t want you to be one of my patients like most of us who’ll be injured in this mission.”

“I’m all in. I belong to this group, I’m probably the strangest among everyone.” I uttered. “So, what’s the plan?”

We’re divided into three groups since three of us are ability-user.

Alessia is with Luke, Ashton, Matthew and George, they’re the team whose dealing with the director and other personnel in the museum.

Troye is with Calum, Michael, Adam, and Ross, the team whose dealing with the security and technical stuffs.

As for me, Pluto and Diso, we only need to blend in with other visitors for me to observe the whole area.

“I feel like I’m a spy in an action movie with this gadget on me.” I uttered as the three of us made our entrance.

“It might turn into action sooner or later so you better be on guard.”

“Are you ready, Desa?” Diso asked me as he extended his hand to me. “I’m your boyfriend for today, right?”

“Ah, right.” I hold his hand as we walk separately from Pluto because he attracts to much attention from people than Diso.

“Stay close you two, don’t be too carried away with your act. We’re on a mission here and not a field trip.” Pluto said as he walks away.

The moment I see the first artifact in the museum, it feels like I’m being hypnotize to touch it with my hands but Diso wake up from the sudden trance that pulls me out from reality.

“You’ll get us into trouble right away if you touch anything.” Diso pointed me the signage.

“That trickster.” I saw a shadow moved from one artifact to another. “Why of all collection they would collect these kinds of artifacts?!” looking around the museum. “Oh my!” I suddenly saw a dead body hanging upside down on the steel bars with a height of 3 meter that is displayed nearby.

“Why? What do you see?” Diso holding my hands tight.

“There are a lot of dead people in here.” trying to keep my cool as I hold his hand. “That bucket is full of heads. That fountain, children died there. That bed, ladies got stabbed in there straight to their hearts. There’s a lot of spirits in here but I haven’t seen the lady in white yet.” reporting to everyone as I talk with Diso.

“I’m not sure if she’s here in my area but I can smell a woman’s perfume.” Alessia responded.

“I’ll continue to look around here.” I replied to her when I suddenly bumped onto something. “Oh sh*t!” I was startled that I just hug onto Diso’s body without realizing it. “It feels like I’m in a horror house and not in a museum.” catching my breath as I pulled away from him. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to …”

“It’s fine, how bad is it??” he holds onto my face with both hands.

“She almost gave me a heart attack. I’m going crazy in this place.”

“Do you need to take a break?” caressing my face gently.

“I … I can do this …” I don’t know if I’m scared that’s why my heart is beating so fast or because of his gesture towards me.

“Are you alright? Your face is turning red.” he touches my forehead.

“I-I’m fine.” I turned my back against him to fan myself and past by the ghost that startled me earlier as I walk forward.

Diso is so skinny unlike Pluto who got some muscles, wait why am I comparing their bodies like some kind of a p*****t?!

“Desa, come here.” Diso called out to me before he walked to another room. “What’s with these dresses??”

“Wore by women who got r***d by men wearing those black hoods.” seeing the women crying helplessly. “I don’t like it here, there’s too much suffering in this room.” walked out immediately.

“Maybe that’s why I got a heavy feeling upon entering that room.”

“I found her.” I followed the lady in white to the room where I saw her walked in. “Guys she’s here in the totem …”

“HWAAAH!” the lady in white suddenly screamed loudly that made all the lights exploded from her voice.

The people around me panicked and run towards the exit immediately because of the sudden commotion.

I removed the gadget from my ear because it’s echoing loudly that I might go deaf anytime soon.

“You!!” a lot of different voices coming from her mouth as she speaks. “Why can’t I touch you but you can see me??!”

“Because I’m being protected by someone powerful than you are.”

“Who? This human??” she pulls Diso with a force and lifted him up in one hand. “You think that scribble you put in that door would lock me up?!” talking to Diso with full of rage.

“Put him down, b*tch!” Pluto shot the white lady with his salt gun.

Diso dropped on the floor but the white lady just flickered beside Pluto and now he’s on the same tight spot as Diso before.

“Salt, that stings a bit but not enough to kill me.” she’s grinning evilly.

I shot her with my salt gun to save Pluto even though I know it’s not effective but it could buy me some time.

“Desa!!” Troye and his team came. “Trxye ughn shfojdfr ajdlk inryz.”

I don’t know what Troye is saying but his words make the white lady scream in fear as he continues with his chant while Adam and Ross try to cuff her with iron, Michael and Calum drawing a circle to imprison the entity inside it.

“Diso-sunbae, are you alright?” helping him to stand up.

“I’m fine, how about Pluto??” he’s still struggling to breathe but he cares about anyone else instead of himself.

“I’ll check on him.” I run towards where Pluto is unconsciously lying down. “Pluto. Pluto.” shaking him up. “Hey, can you stand up?”

“I can. Is Diso safe??” he uttered as soon as he tries to sit up.

“He’s fine. Let me help you.” trying to support him to stand.

“Quererxye mejoreyxus …” Troye continues with his chant until the circle is complete and the iron chains of the cuffs are levitating.

“I don’t want to be pessimistic here but I don’t think it will hold her down for too long.” I uttered as I watch the white lady trying to release herself from the chains.

“What’s taking the others so long?!” Adam shouted.

“Are you waiting for these pipsqueaks?!” a man holding a flashlight appeared at the doorway. “Kids, what have you done to my genie?!”

“Genie?! Mister I don’t think you have seen a genie before, genie doesn’t collect people souls.” Troye said.

“But she grants me wishes, so is she my fairy godmother??” the man said with a sarcastic laugh.

“That’s a demon you i***t!” Alessia sneers at the man.

“This girl.” the man grabbed Alessia’s chin. “I really don’t like the way you talk to me. Make her kneel.” he ordered his men.

“Don’t you dare hurt her!” Luke shouted at the man.

“Oh, lover boy, is being heroic again.” the man laughed. “These youngsters, who hired you to fight against me?”

The man took his gun from his back pocket and ordered his men to make Luke and the others to kneel for him.

“I’m a businessman so let’s negotiate.” the man turned to us. “You released my lucky charm in exchanged for the life of your friends.”

“You think we believe you? You’re going to kill us anyway so, no deal.” Ashton responded even if there’s a gun pointing on his head.

“Ah, so you want to die first?” the man walks to Ashton.

“He’s not going to die.” I uttered. “I don’t see him dying today, but I see someone’s death that will happen any minute now.”

“You … what are you??!” the man looking at me like a scaredy cat.

“Desa your eyes.” Alessia staring at me with puzzlement.

The man pointed his gun at me and when he’s about to pull the trigger someone shot his hand that made him dropped the gun.

“Kill him if you want to live.” the white lady shouted then another gunshot fired that hit directly the man’s head. “Hahahaha!”

“Let them go!” a woman’s voice ordered the men. “You’re serving me now that my husband is dead.” the director’s wife walks forward.

She has a gun in her hand and she doesn’t seem to be bothered with a dead man’s body on the floor.

“Give them what they need from this a**hole.” she orders one of the men to hand over a knife.

Adam took the knife while Michael and Calum untied the others.

“Mrs. Yoo, please give me the gun. It’s not safe for you to hold that gun while you’re still in trance with that demon.” Ross taking the gun.

“That the soul that I need to get out from these chains.” the white lady released herself and used the wind to ruin the circle made in salt. “Humans, so easily to be manipulated.”

“Give me the knife Adam.” Alessia took the knife and aimed it at the lady in white. “You think you can get away?”

It exploded into thin air after the knife ruptured its body.

“You’re all finally free, you can go now.” Troye talking to the spirits around us. “Burn, yes, we’ll do that. Uhm … Mrs. Yoo, will it be alright to burn all the artifacts here in the museum?”

“Definitely. Along, with the body of my husband.” Mrs. You agreed without hesitation. “Men, take everything in this museum out let’s have a bonfire outside.”

“We’ll help to clean this place.” Ashton gesturing us to move.

“President? Are we a moving agency now??” Luke complained.

The generator work just now and it lit up the museum somehow except for the totem room.

“Desa should we clean up this room together?” Alessia asked.

“I’ll leave you two alone for now.” Troye said. “Ah, Mrs. Yoo can we talk about this museum?” he went out with the others.

“Will you two be fine here on your own?” Diso asked.

“I still got the knife with me.” Alessia said. “And I got Desa here as my eye, we’ll be fine together.”

“Come on, Diso. Let’s leave the girls here and do what Ashton says.” Pluto drag Diso out the room. “Scream if you two need help.”

“As if we’re doing that.” I said confidently. “What kind of knife is that? It looks like an ordinary hunting knife but it’s not.”

“It can kill demons.” Alessia replied. “About earlier Desa, do you know that your eyes change colors when you use your abilities??”

“Is that why that man got scared of me and you were looking at me differently earlier??” I asked to confirmed my assumption.

“Maybe it’s dark that’s why it’s visible to me, now that I think about it, not your entire iris changed color. It’s more like a symbol of yin and yang only that they’re both yellow.” Alessia said after thinking.
