Chapter 3: It Drives Me Wild (2 of 2)

“But I’m already at legal age in Canada, Oww! Oww!” trying to stop Mama’s hand from twisting my ear.

“Still you’re a high school kid!” Mama let go of my ear. “You even paid for everyone’s bill in the bar! Aren’t you so generous?!”

“Because everyone welcomes me and I had a lot of fun that night.” rubbing my ear. “It’s my first-time clubbing.”

“The clubs in Vancouver are way better than here.” Papa uttered.

“Hush!” Mama glares at Papa. “You’re grounded for a month, Toto!”

“But I got plans this weekend, Ma! I’m going out with my friends.”

“Then cancel that plan, you brought this to yourself!” Mama uttered sternly. “You’re not allowed to get out from this residence for a month, and that’s final!”

“But Ma!” doing puppy eyes to beg for mercy.

“No, buts you’re grounded!” Mama walks off.

“Pa, help me with Ma, please?” pleading to Papa.

“Your Mama is the oldest on our family, so you have to respect her decision.” Papa taps my shoulder. “You should’ve wait until college.”

“Don, help me??” looking at Poseidon.

“I’ll help you put this in your dark room.” Poseidon walks away too.

“Don’t look at me, you know I can’t do anything when you pissed off the Queen.” Demeter also turn her back against me.

“Ter, wait for me!” Hera coming with Demeter.

“What’s in it for me if I help you?” Zeus crossing his arms.

“What do you want brother?” embracing him.

“I’m telling Ma, that you two have an evil plan!” Hestia walks off.

“Are we just letting her go??” asking Zeus while pointing at Hestia.

“Let her be, she doesn’t know about the plan anyway.” Zeus said.

Zeus told me to play pretend being an obedient son for days to change Mama’s mind on my punishment, if it didn’t work then I have to sneak out from my room and have one of my men to pretend that I only want to lay in bed and doesn’t want to go out on the day I need to leave, although I’ve never tried it before, I need to give it a shot.

“Young Master Pluto, I will be punished too if we get caught.” Gom, my youngest attendant, hesitating to cooperate with me.

“Then, don’t get caught. Zeus will back me up, don’t worry.” making ninja moves to get out from the balcony.

My remaining 7 men have the perimeter secured for my departure, and yes, we’re all in this escape plan together.

My 8 attendants are all loyal to me because I’m their master and not my parents or my siblings, the only exception is my Lolo Uranus, he can make everyone speak the truth and can overrule anyone under him, because he’s the headmaster of the Nevaeh family.

When I reached the gate, I have my friend’s car waiting for me outside, while they’re trying to distract the security, I had my way out past the guards.

“It’s like we helped a prisoner escaped.” Diso takes the driver’s seat.

“Thanks for helping me out, I can’t miss this opportunity.” I uttered.

“What have you done to be grounded for a month, anyway?” Ashton asked as he sits on the passenger seat.

“I went to the club at Vancouver, paid for everyone’s bill that Saturday night and got home reeking in alcohol.” I explained.

“Well you’re at the legal age over there.” Ashton uttered.

“Still he’s a high school student here.” Diso starts driving.

“Yeah, that’s what Mama said. If not for Zeus, I won’t be here.”

“Figures, Don won’t be doing this for you. He’s so righteous.” Diso replied as he looks at me through the rear-view mirror.

“So, you sided with your bad brother, huh?” Ashton chuckles.

“I got no other choice, he’s the only one who can help me out.” I said.

After 20 minutes’ drive we arrived at our destination, SNU campus.

This is where I want to study for college instead of YU or KU, I don’t mind being in a national university.

The reason I want here is because of SOS or Secret Organization for Supernatural, which is unofficial club in the university and only few individuals know that it exists.

SOS was founded by Adam Hann on 27th of November 1968 during his sophomore year, with Matthew Healy as his Vice President who’s only a freshman that time and Ross MacDonald as the 3rd club member who’s also a freshman.

They’re all English men who migrated here in South Korea because of their family businesses.

Although they don’t have the gift to see, they had a lot of paranormal investigations that helped a lot of people.

When Adam graduated on ’71, he passed the presidency to Ross and the latter had George Daniel as his Vice President while Matthew served as an adviser.

George is a Belgian who joined the club a year after it’s establishment, Ross recruited him on his freshman year because he has a knack for sensing peculiarities.

Then Ross and Matthew graduated last year, so George took the presidency and Diso Richy became the Vice President.

Diso is a Belgian-Korean, his Korean name is Lee from his mother with the same first name, the one who recruited me even though I’m still high school to SOS because of my interest in supernatural.

Diso is now the President after George graduated on 3rd of March this year, and Ashton Fletcher as the Vice.

But instead of the usual presidency stuff, we just called ourselves a triad, Diso is the head, Ashton his right-hand man, and I’m left.

SOS only needs 3 people to run and it’s been that way since Adam founded it, although I’m a senior high school student, I can catch up with them when it comes to paranormal investigation.

And today Ashton and I will meet the four for the first time because of the case we’re going to handle.

“I object!” Adam raised his hand when they’re all arguing whether they let me in to the case of not. “He’s a high school kid!”

“I assure you he won’t be a burden to us.” Diso backing me up. “Toto can handle himself perfectly and he saved me and Ashton from our cases before, he’s no ordinary high school kid.”

“That’s right, also he’s our resource person, as you may all know he’s one of the grandsons of the legendary Uranus Nevaeh.” Ashton said.

“Do you really have to involved my grandfather in this discussion?” I mumbled to Ashton.

“Sorry, that’s the card I have.” Ashton whispered back to me.

“Well, that’s another problem. He’s from a rich and famous family.” Matthew uttered. “If anything happens to him, we’ll all be responsible because we let him in.”

“I agree, we can’t let him join.” Ross shaking his head. “This mission is dangerous and we’re on our own when we get there.”

“I want him in.” George smiling at me. “My gut feel is telling me that he’ll be useful to us.”

Although it’s 3 on 3, because it’s George who spoke for me, they let me join the investigation.

The case is about the baby of an underaged woman who had an amorous love affair with a man twice her age.

The doctor said that the woman had an abortion but the 6 months old infant from the woman’s belly didn’t die instead the premature baby almost killed her when the child bit her neck.

“I was born in the Philippines and lived there for 8 years; the Filipino got this urban legend about unborn babies who become monsters after their mother aborted them.” sharing them my knowledge.

“What do you suggest we do to the case?” Adam asked sceptically.

“As far as I know only the mother can stop the killing of her baby, but in this case, the baby is totally in control of the mother as she can’t do anything with her child.” I uttered.

“That little monster killed people and only the doctor survived although she’s the first victim.” Mathew responded.

“What if we use that doctor as a bait?” Ross suggested without batting an eye of his evil plan.

“Not bad … after her all the victim were dead, if that baby finds out that the doctor who tried to kill him is still alive, I’m pretty sure he wants to the doctor dead.” George having a sinister smile on his face.

“Let’s say we use the poor doctor as a bait, what are we going to do when the baby is about to kill her?” Diso asked.

“Are we going to trap the baby in a net? Like we’re catching a fish?” Ashton trying to lighten up the mood.

“A net won’t be enough. Look how that monster bit his victims, it’s like we’re catching a baby shark who’s having frenzy.” I said. “According to the stories that I know when the unborn baby got completely mature, it’ll become more powerful than it already is.”

“9 months or 40 weeks that’s the complete maturity of a baby.” Diso said. “You said that the baby assaulted the doctor on its 6th month, right? How long has been the doctor hospitalized?”

“I met her in the ward by the end of last month and she told me that she’s in the hospital for 2 months already.” Adam replied.

“Then we don’t have much time left, we should deliver that child from evil before he reached his ultimate.” Matthew responded.

“Exactly how are we going to do it?” Ashton asked curiously.

“I would suggest holy water but the thing is they’re not Christians.”

“That’s actually a great idea Ross!” I exclaimed. “That unborn baby doesn’t have a religion yet, but he can be baptized.”

“This one got a brain!” George pointing at me. “That child is furious because his parents wants him dead, no one wants the child alive he’s unwelcomed in this world from the very beginning, so we welcome that child to the Christian world.”

“Just blessed that child with holy water??” Aston being sceptical. “What if it doesn’t work and we only make the monster angrier?!”

“Then we kill the child.” Adam answered. “Either we kill or get killed.”

“That motto of yours Adam never change.” Matthew chuckles.

I only had ghost encounters when I become part of SOS and never fought a monster baby before also, I don’t know how to defeat it.

The only thing I know according to the stories, is that the unborn baby wants to be love.

But with the mother’s condition, who’s still underaged I doubt that she’ll love a monster when from the very start she wants to kill it.

The next day, since I stayed overnight at Diso’s place instead of risking my freedom when I go back home, we started the mission first thing in the morning.

We brought the doctor to the place where the mother and child currently living in.

She doesn’t know that we’re using her as a bait as Adam told her lies to lure her to the place.

The folklore that I know is that the unborn child is afraid of sunlight so it won’t transform into monster and it’s the safe time for us to do the mission since we have the sun as a shield.

But when the mother showed up with the child in her arms the cloud suddenly blocked the sun.

The mother dropped the baby on the ground as the rain falls, even though the forecast said it’ll be sunny today.

The baby moves to the side and we all saw how hideous it looks like.

“I don’t think the holy water will work with this heavy rain.” Ashton looking at me and Diso. “Are we going to proceed with Plan B?”

“Do we have other choice?” Diso preparing to attack.

When the little monster crawled out from his cloth, watching him walk on his own feet sends me chills that I want to make a run for it but then everyone jumps in to protect the doctor.

I don’t know what’s gotten into me but instead of doing the same thing with everyone I approached the mother instead.

“You! You’re still in high school, right?!” calling the attention of the mother. “Did you really not want to have this child?!”

“I love his father but I never thought of having a child with him because I’m too young to be a mother.” sits on the ground. “They’re all gonna die.” watching my friends fighting with her monster child.

“You can save them! You only need to call out for your son, you have a mother too and we all listen to our mothers, right?!”

“I tried too many times before to stop him but he never listens to me, how do you expect me to stop him now specially when the person who did the operation to me is in front of him?” spacing out.

“Call his name! You haven’t tried to call his name yet, aren’t you?!”

“Name?? Why would I name my unborn child?” staring blankly ahead.

“You’re an awful person! Are you satisfied with watching your child go wild?! Don’t you feel guilty that it’s your fault why that monster exists and killing people?!” shaking her up.

“What do you want me to do, huh?” looking at me. “That monster is in control of me, it doesn’t recognize me as his mother.”

“Because you never recognize him as your child! Did you never love him even once when you’re carrying him in your belly?! You had him in you for 6 months, you should’ve aborted him on his 1st month if you really don’t want a child!” holding onto her shoulders.

“I … I want to keep him because he is the child of the man, I love but … what can I do if his own father wants me to get an abortion?! I’m only 15 and he’s married, I can’t provide for this child’s life on my own, I’m also dependent to his father.” bursting in tears.

“You only want pleasure but you don’t want to be responsible for your actions.” standing up. “You’ll be living like this for your entire life, only if you get to live for another year with this monster.”

“No, he’s not going to kill me because he needs me to survive, he’s just a child and he can’t do anything when he’s at his human form.”

“And how long do you think he’ll be human? All I can see now is a monster who wants to kill. You need to make a decision and stop playing the victim card, you’re the one who made that monster, take responsibility. You’re her mother, for goodness sake!” screaming at her. “Just call out his name! That’s all you need to do to make him stop, that’s how mothers discipline their children.”

“Yun … Yun Hyeong … Yun Hyeong-ah! Yoo Yun Hyeong!” screaming the name of his child. “Yoo Yun Hyeong! That’s enough!” standing firm from the ground. “That’s enough! You have to stop and listen to me!”

The little monster stopped from attacking the doctor and look at to our direction.

“No more killing! Yoo Yun Hyeong! Mama doesn’t like what you’re doing! Please stop it, my baby.” she uttered.

“Mama?” the little monster crawls towards us. “Mama!!”

“Yes, baby, I’m your mother.” embracing the child in her arms. “I’m sorry that mama can’t do anything to protect you.”

“Mama.” the little monster slowly transformed into a normal baby again while the mother is crying for her child.

“I’m sorry, my baby. Mama loves you and you know that right, I always talk to you every night while you’re still in my belly. Mama will never forget again how much she loves you.” planting a kiss on the child’s forehead. “Your name is Yoo Yun Hyeong, that’s your grandfather’s name.”

The child caressing the mother’s face with a smile on his face and after a while the rain stopped and the sun showed up again.

When the sunlight hits the child’s body it starts disappearing but instead of a cry in pain his laughter of joy can be heard.

The mother continues to cry as she holds onto the piece of cloth where the child was.

“I almost doubted you when you didn’t join the fight earlier.” George taps my shoulder as he tries to touch the scratch on his face.”

“It suddenly came to me that it’s the right thing to do at the moment.” looking at everyone who got hurt during the process.
