“Just go away,” Max said to him.
“I’m in a public area and have things to do out here,” Derek snarled.
My body was shaking. I was trembling all over. How was I going to stand up when my face is full of tears? I didn’t want him to see me like this. Max hugged me tighter, trying to calm me down, but it wasn’t working much. Max wrapped his jacket around me and handed me a pair of sunglasses. I felt stupid putting them on, but it was better than letting Derek know he got the best of me. Once he saw I had them on, he stood up. I knew he was going to say something to Derek, and I honestly didn’t care. I just hope Derek will leave me alone.
