Jenna had Carver's clerk on the line.
"Judge Carver is reviewing the documentation now," the clerk said. "She's aware of the Hale ruling."
"How long," Jenna said.
"I can't give you a time. She rules when she rules."

"Tell Judge Carver that the stay becomes enforceable in thirty minutes," Jenna said. "If she hasn't ruled by then the children's transfer is legally frozen and we lose ground we cannot recover tonight."

Solis walked over. "My lawyer says Hale's stay is being processed for service right now. Someone is pushing it through fast. Normal processing doesn't move that quickly."
