As Ethan drove in silence, his thoughts were occupied with the encounter with Mel earlier. He couldn't shake off the tension he felt when he caught her, and the look in her eyes as they stared at each other was etched in his mind.
His phone soon rang, interrupting his thoughts. He glanced at the screen and saw that it was Lisa; she was one of the people he had come into contact with during his time abroad. He picked up the call and put it on speaker as he continued to drive.
"Hello," Ethan said in his usual cold tone, and Lisa's voice came through on the other end.
