Chapter Six

[Kat's P.O.V] "I don't need anyone's help," I say, and his hand drops, the door slamming shut. "What is wrong with you?" my wolf, Kit, questions. "Nothing," I say, my mind blocked; even she couldn't get into it. "He wants to help us," she clarifies, obviously not letting this pass. "Just shut up," I growl, shoving her as far as I could into the back of my head. [Elias' P.O.V.] What I had seen her do was surprising yet disturbing. She had ripped that male wolf to pieces without any ounce of remorse. Well, not at first. After she realized her situation, her gaze and her mindset darkened. What my wolf had witnessed was that her wolf was not reigned in. Instead, she had free reign, and Kat had allowed her to end his life. I decided that I would help her control it at that moment. That beast had to be contained inside before it completely took over, turning her into a savage beast. If that happened, there was no going back. [Kat's P.O.V] I report to training immediately after being summoned by Tanner. "Alpha?" I question his mate by his side. The female from before stood just behind them; her head bowed in respect. "Elias has come to me with some disturbing news. Did you publicly decapitate another wolf?" He asks, his voice held no warmth. "He challenged me," I say, gaze locked on the ground. "That wasn't the question, Kat. Did you or did you not?" He asks again. "She did," Elias clarifies as he steps into view. "Pardon me, Alpha Elias. But this is official pack business." Tanner says, puffing out his chest, appearing to look intimidating to this much bigger wolf. "I'm a witness as well as her mate. I believe this does concern me." He admits dangerously low. "I suppose. And how did you witness such an event? If I remember correctly, you're Alpha Elias, and you're blind." Tanner says, a smug smile playing on his lips. "I can still see in my wolf form," he snaps. "And seeing as she's my mate, the pack accords state that I may take her to my pack. My pack is leaving in a couple of days, and she will come with me. Furthermore, you cannot punish her. All ties that link her to this pack are severed." My mouth dropped in shock, and Tanner's face turned an unhealthy shade of red. "Only if she accepts," Tanner says, venom lacing his words. Both male wolves turn to me, and I c**k my head to the side in thought. "Of course, I choose my mate, and you can't blame me when you've done the same thing," I say to Tanner before stepping toward Elias. My arm brushes Elias', and he inhales softly as I settle beside him. "You realize if you do this, I have to wage war," Tanner warns, crossing his arms. Elias' eyes flicker dangerously as he leans forward. His hands rested on the table, making his face level with Tanner's. "If you think for one second that you're intimidating me with your peacocking in front of your mate, you are highly wrong. I will not hesitate to kill every male, female, or anyone that endangers my pack. And even though I am blind, I can still sense the fear radiating off you in waves." He says smugly, his nostrils flaring. "It's settled then. We both will wage war." Tanner says, and Elias nods curtly. "I'll expect the terms of war on my desk by morning," Elias says, grabbing my hand. Then, without so much as a goodbye, Elias pulls me out of the room. "Elias," I say, surprise evident in my voice, however, he didn't stop pulling me down the hall. "Elias," I say again, and this time he turns to look at me. "What? What, Kat? What is so important?" He questions, agitation written on his features. "You just waged war," I say, still stunned. "Yeah," He says, looking back to look at me, his eyes landing between my shoulder and neck, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Yeah? That's all you have to say," I asked, pulling my hand out of his. "Your point is?" He says, crossing his arms. "My point is, how can you be so calm? My friends are in this pack. They've been my family for years." I state, hurt by his lack of compassion "Well, I'm sorry, but I'm your family now. And the sooner you accept that the sooner I can murder them." He angrily growls out. My mouth snaps shut as I realize he has a point. He grabs my forearm, pulling me toward a dark black car. His breathing is heavy, and I know he's angry. I watch as he sighs, dragging a hand through his tussled hair. I sit in the seat quietly, watching the pack I had grown to love, well, if you could call it love, disappear behind me. Elias' eyes are closed, and I wonder for a moment of he has fallen asleep. "It's rude to stare," he says, not opening his eyes. "How do you do that?" I question, moving closer, my arm brushing his. "I don't know how to explain it; I can feel when eyes are on me. Especially yours; they leave a warmth wherever they look," he says. "Oh," I say nervously, lacing my fingers together. Territories disappear behind me, and new smells unfold around me. My nose inhales these foreign scents, and I can feel the presence of many wolves in one territory. Elias' smell is prominent, and I knew we were in his territory. His hand rests against the door, and as soon as we stop, he pulls the door open, taking long strides toward the door, his nose in the air. I sigh but follow him. The pack house wasn't as grand as the one I was used to, but it was bigger than my one-room house. He pulls the door open, only to be surrounded by a group I could only assume were his warriors. The group of burly men seemed not to notice me following closely behind. He shoots me a glance before abruptly stopping in his tracks. "Men, this is my mate, Kat." Suddenly I had too many eyes on me, ones that looked at me with dark glances.
