Lucas's POV The western corridor was empty. Lucas stood beneath the torchlight, staring at the wooden wolf lying on the floor where Aariana had found it. Wren's toy. His fingers curled into fists. He had spent five years believing Aariana had betrayed him. Five years believing she had chosen to leave. Five years accepting the council's version because he had trusted the people sitting behind those walls more than he had trusted the woman he loved.
