"For f***s sake!" Adrian slams his fist on the table in front of him, with his tone blaring through the room. His gaze reverts to his screen once again, staring at the scandal posted about him.
One which is of false statements, for if Adrian is to speak, there is a story behind the picture that follow such horrendous words. Adrian gets up from the black couch of the hotel suite he stays in, with his phone going to his ear, calling the one person whom will also be affected by the news. Anne Adams. The English model on the blogs and also the daughter of Scott Adams, whom is his sole reason for coming to England on business.
Adrian reaches the building, where he and Anne schedule for a meeting, sighting the white, neat and hazel eyes of the model sitting by the veranda of her home. Anne’s gaze meets with Adrian, as a smile cross across her pinkish lips, one which doesn’t go unnoticed to Adrian. Adrian can confess to himself that Anne is indeed a beautiful woman with an elegant physique, and in a different circumstance he will surely find himself lurking after Anne, yet, he can compliment her beauty but not pursue them, for what he sees is the fineness of Anne, but not the desire for her.
“Anne,” Adrian acknowledges the woman in front of him, whom still has a smile on her face.
“How are you Adrian?” Anne inquires while Adrain takes his seat opposite her. From where Adrian seats, he views the variety of flowers that lay behind the glass doors of the backyard.
“You know how I am at the moment Anne,” Adrian responds truthfully.
“Do not tell me you are worked up about such little matters?” Anne speaks, questioning him.
“Lest you have forgotten, I am a married man now and even if such is of false statement, I do not appreciate to disrespect my wife in such way.” Adrain answers taking Anne to go silent for a second, with just her stare on him.
“Of course. But, surely your wife does know the kind of man which you are.” Anne says.
“And what kind of man am I?” Adrian says with his tone now with curiosity.
“A man whom knows that he is wanted my many women.” Anne states. “Now, do not get me wrong if I say I do fancy you which you know, yet, I have no intentions of causing havoc to your marriage for you have done me a great deal of favor.” She adds.
“What is your point?” Adrian inquires further.
“You helped me express to my father what it is I long wished for, which is to become a business woman and work beside him. Do not get me wrong I do love what I do, but my passion lays otherwise. My point to you is that, through my years of modeling and meeting men like you Adrian, I have come to realize one thing,” Anne speaks, letting Adrian have his gaze fixed on her.
“I’m listening,” Adrian gives Anne the go ahead to complete her words.
“No matter how you try Adrian, no matter how you love your wife, you and men like you are not a one lady man. Even if you do not want it, you will be forced to, for it is the world that you live in.” Adrian gulps lightly at Anne’s words, as even if he does try to deny the truth in her words, deep down it is all denialism in its context. “Like I said, I have no intentions of wrecking your marriage because you are a good man Adrian, for that I will make a public statement stating our relationship.” Anne adds, while Adrian stays silent.
“Please do drink with me, at least before you go back.” Anne seeing the solemnity in Adrain’s face, averts their conversation with the wine on the table. “Two things a woman want is, love and attention. I would have said loyalty, but that may be difficult for you to provide for her, yet it doesn’t mean you can not respect her while still having your affairs. As you know, family comes first in everything.” Anne says lastly with a smile ending her words.
Adrian reminisces Anne’s words deeply, for her words are unfiltered but truthful, yet, it isn’t the right time for him to display the depth of Anne’s words. Smiling back at Anne, Adrian picks up the glass in front of him before taking his last glass of wine before he leaves for the US, for he has concluded brings him to England.
Recalling how he and Anne began their relationship, gets Adrian to have a smirk on his lips while he drinks, as it is Anne who approached him first when he attended a Versace fashion show in Italy. In truth, Adrian was mesmerized by her courage and beauty, yet, he can’t quite pinpoint his reason for refusal of a date with her, up to this very moment, for if Adrian didn’t have Laura in his life, she has definitely become a woman of his caliber, courtesy of his fondness of Laura’s attitude.
And with the conversation the two have, Adrian finds himself asking one question.
Can he put Laura first? Above all, above his wildness, flirtatious nature and most importantly, above his self ego of accepting what it is he is beginning to feel for her, after all she has indeed become family. Even if it is just for a year.

Laura watches the main door to of the penthouse she lives with Adrian open, as not an inch of her body moves from the couch which she sits on, yet, her heart beats a hundred times faster than any movement she can take, knowing quite well whom walks through the door.
Adrian.
Laura’s gaze meets with Adrian for the first time in a week, as somewhat of anger and hurt begins to build in her, even after speaking to herself of the reality of the relationship they hold, yet, she can’t help but feel unimportant to him, especially when he didn’t return any of her calls till he stands in front of her. An act which hurts her even more.
“Hi,” Is Adrian first words to his wife, while staring at her with guilt and indecisiveness of the emotions that emboldened him. One which Laura senses instantly, for the Adrian that stands in front of her is not the one that left for England.
And as the two remain gazes on each other, so do they rethink the decision which it is they took at the alter by saying, for better or worse.
