ARC 1.2 : Onnell Maxwell

"Sister! Your water!" Suddenly a little kid barged in holding a glass of water. Elis looked at the little kid and smiled towards the little kid. This little kid's name is Roland Knights, Elis younger brother, her one and only brother as well, the heir of the next Knights's business. Roland is 10 years old, and he was very clingy with Elis as she was the only one who showed motherly love towards this brother of hers. Elis took the water and pecked a kiss towards Roland's cheek, which in return Roland's face turned red.

"Thank you brother." Elis thanked him sincerely as she drank the water slowly. Based from the original's body memory, she passed out from high fever and ended up in bed for three days and, to Elis luck, the story would begin 1 year from now, meaning the second male lead still didn't know about the female lead. Elis grinned mischievously as she thought about this matter. Doesn't this mean that she get a chance to meet the second male lead before her? Nice!

"Big sister, are you okay now?" Roland asked, which snapped Elis from her thought. She looked at her little brother and patted his head.

"Yes, I'm okay, don't worry. Have you eaten?" Elis asked, Roland shook his head and Elis suddenly felt bitter inside her heart. Their father didn't care much about his children, the only thing he knew was how to satisfy his d**k and this is also the reason why their mother took her own life, so she could end her heartache. Still, their father didn't care much about his wife's death, he only come while looking at the cold body inside the casket and walked away.

Elis sighed, she took Roland's hand and walked toward the dining room. She could see several maids were gossiping and didn't do their job properly.

"Why is it nobody gives food to the young master?" Elis asked, and the maids immediately looked at Elis and Roland, surprise-surprise the maids, sneered at them.

"Young miss, please don't slander us like this, we already gave food to young master. Isn't young master?" One of the maids talked while looking at Roland with threatening eyes. Elis gripped her hand into a fist. These maids are looking down on them. Even though their father neglected them, the two of them are still considered as their master in this house. Well, Elis couldn't blame this 100% to the maids. Besides, it's the original body who was too timid and didn't even bother much about the maids but, this have to change they got pay to do their job not gossiping.

Elis looked at the maid who talked back. The name tag was written Anna and Elis smile evilly as she walk towards the chair and seated Roland on it before she sat beside her little brother. Anna looked proud when the stupid young miss didn't argue with her back, but then Elis next action made her pale more than she knew.

"Housekeeper Lu, come to the dining room and bring all the employees details that are working in this house, I need to throw some stupid and dirty trash out of this house!" Elis talked chillingly, even Housekeeper Lu who was outside the house right now feel scared.

"Y-yes young miss, I'll bring it immediately!" Housekeeper Lu stuttered.

"5 minutes from now!" and Elis ended the call before she heard any replies from Housekeeper Lu, she looked at another maid behind Anna who was now getting pale and paler.

"Notify the cook to cook us dinner right now!" Elis gave an order and the maid behind Anna immediately rushed towards the kitchen. She felt afraid and worry at the same time. She never saw the Young Miss could be so scary when she's mad.

"Miss..." Anna called Elis slowly, she didn't expect that the young miss would snap at her this time, but Elis didn't even care about her, she didn't even look at her and this small matter is nothing to her. She tapped her finger on the table while waiting for the housekeeper to bring the details she asked for. Her eyes were closed and looked so serious right now, even Roland seemed a bit scared because of his sister. Little did they know Elis was communicating with Fluffy right now.

"Fluffy, is it okay for me to OOC (out of character)?" Elis asked.

"Yes, this is a tutorial world, so it doesn't matter if you OOC or not, but in the next world, you need to be careful. We allow the host to be OOC, but it needs to be changed slowly, so the other characters do not realize that you've changed." Fluffy answered. Elis hummed a little and opened her eyes when she felt her clothes were tugged a little.

"Sister, uncle Lu is here." Roland spoke slowly. Elis looked up, and she saw a man around 40–50 years old with a book in his hand.

"Housekeeper Lu, did I disturb you?" Elis asked. Housekeeper Lu gave a wry smile.

"No young miss." Housekeeper Lu looked at Elis and somehow felt trouble in his heart, but one thing for sure, their young miss had changed, gone the timid young girl, gone the shy young girl, what he see right now is a confident and aloof young miss.

"Good, let me see those books, and please ask the cook to cook faster. The young master hasn't eaten yet." Elis gave a cold stare towards the housekeeper Lu. Housekeeper Lu immediately handed over the book to Elis and walked towards the kitchen.

Elis gave the book to Roland and patted his head lovingly.

"Roland, anyone who has bullied you, mocked you, sneered at you and gossiped about you, you can fire them all, don't worry, sister will take the blame."

Roland looked at his sister as he could feel tears on his eyes. He hugged his sister and Elis patted his back lovingly. After Roland calmed down, he finally started to point out the people who had bullied, mocked, sneered and gossiped about him and the result, around 20 people who work for the Knights family, only 3 people who left behind. Elis looked at these people and nodded.

One is Housekeeper Lu, one is the gardener and the last one was the old maid which their mother had hired long ago.

Soon, their food arrives with the housekeeper behind the maids who bring the food. After placing the food on the table, both Roland and Elis started eating and the maid who served the food stood beside housekeeper Lu, waiting for the next instruction from their young miss. Even so, all of them felt a bad premonition.

Elis took care of Roland with a lot of care. She made sure Roland was full and when they had already done, Elis looked at Housekeeper Lu and handed him the book.

"The one with the 'X' kick them tomorrow, give them 2 months of salary and make sure nobody takes anything from this house." Elis gave her order and took Roland towards her room. She felt something would happen tonight, so she must be careful.

Later that night, she could hear a lot of curses as well. Her door was knocked several times, but of course she was not stupid to open the door, she would let Housekeeper Lu to settle everything and see how he would handle this matter.

"Fluffy, can you trace the second male lead?" Elis made her request.

"Give me a second," Fluffy answered. Finally, after a moment of waiting, Fluffy answered her question once again.

"Host, right now the second male lead is in Country Y for some small business."

"Okay, please let me know when he will come back to Country M."

"Okay!"

Elis walked towards the balcony and looked at the night sky. She missed her past life but the one she misses the most right now is him. She didn't even know that he who she always calls brother loves her more than a sister, more than a friend. All she thought was that the way he cared, the way he said her name was the act of brother to sister. The guilt she feels right now is something she never felt before.

"Fluffy..." Elis calls Fluffy once again. This time Fluffy appeared beside her.

"Can you tell me what he is doing right now?"

Fluffy looked at her master and contemplated for a while. She knows her host had a broken heart, and she knows what she will do after this. It could make her in trouble, but she doesn't want to see her host in sadness, so she smiles at Elis and a hologram soon appears in front of them.

In the hologram, an old man visits a grave and Elis knows who the grave belongs to, but what she wants to know the most is, who this old man was.

"Fluffy, who is this old man?" Elis asked.

"Host, after you left and live in the system void space, 30 years have passed in your world so right now he probably around 50 years old man." Fluffy answered. Elis was in shock, she didn't think that she had left that world for 30 years already. Elis looked at the hologram in front of her, and she felt sad by only looking at that man. He was caressing the headstone while his eyes were looking at it lovingly.

"Happy Birthday Elis." He murmured and Elis closed her mouth as her tears poured down. She closed her eyes as she could feel pain in her chest. Brother, if I manage to achieve my mission and come back to my past life, I'll swear I would love you.

She opened her eyes once again and looked at the hologram again. The old man smiled and suddenly kissed the headstone as he stood up and walked slowly away from the headstone.

"He never marry." Fluffy closed the hologram and looked at Elis. Elis was in surprise once again and nodded. This time she was determined to do her mission and go back to her old world.

"Brother, wait for me." Elis said slowly. She didn't know what she felt right now, but one thing for sure, this feeling isn't the same with what she felt with that ex-fiancé of hers.
