10 “Did you miss me?” Jake asked as he leaned in to kiss her cheek and sat down on the chair beside her. She nodded, feeling her cheek flame hot where his lips had touched. His charming kiss would be considered a bold move anywhere else––since they barely knew each other––but in this place of wild abandon, it seemed as innocent as a prim walk in the garden after high tea and crumpets.
