In the afternoon we drove out to the furniture makers. They had nearly completed her order. The pillory and stocks were completed, but the medieval-styled rack would be ready in a day or two. They would be delivered next week. That night we were invited to a dinner party at one of the original partners in the law firm. I would have rather stayed home locked in the closet than be there, but she insisted. It was okay, I guess. The food was good, and there was plenty of booze available.
