Parking Lot Chat

" I don't think so." Tyler said. Then they both said together " except for the audition." A small silence followed then they both started laughing. " I'm Natasha." Tasha said extending a hand for him to shake. Tyler took it and responded "I know." and they both started laughing again. "You're pretty hard to miss, you're on TV all the time." Tyler said after regaining his composure. "Only in the fashion news." Natasha said feeling red in the face "That's the only news I watch " Tyler responded. Tasha hung her head to hide the blush that was coming to her cheeks again. "Why is that?" She asked. "I've been interested in modelling for some time now and have been following your company in the media to see if it was the right place for me to be." "You seem to have had a lot of options." She said "No, but I have a reputation. One that I'd like to protect." he replied. "Reputations can be both bad and good. Which is yours?" Tasha asked. "It's not good but it's not bad either. I'd like to maintain the balance." Ty replied "I thought you were more of a bad boy trying to hang on to a good reputation." Tasha said and smiled. "And you came to that conclusion from me just walking to the end of a stage and back?" Ty laughed, a light and airy laugh. Natasha looked up at him and realized that his face was relaxed and he was actually laughing. Not that forced sham of a smile that he had put on to impress her and her colleagues during the audition. As she stared at him in awe she heard him say "I'm starting to feel really stupid." "Why is that?" she asked "Because im talking to you but you're just staring at me." he replied "Oh I'm sorry." she said immediately averting her eyes. "Don't be. I like you looking at me." he said winking at her. Tasha took a deep breath and shifted her weight from one leg to the other before she said " So what do you do for a living Mr Gibbons? Do you work or do you play?" "I do both. And you can call me Tyler, Ty for short." Tyler responded then continued "My father has a few businesses that I help him to run for now." "What does "for now" mean?"Tasha asked furrowing her brows. "He wants to retire and have me take over everything but I'm not really interested in doing so unless i can balance running the businesses and being a model. You see, he's always wanted me to take over once he retires and I've always wanted to be a model. Now that I've got both foot in the door at your agency, I'm not backing out. I will have to find a way to do both jobs or my dad will have to find another replacement." "It sounds like taking over from your dad is a big deal for him." Tasha said. "It is." Ty replied. "Modelling is something that you can do full or part time. I attend school so I model part time. It's less tiresome and the salary is still good plus it goes up to five figures depending on how good you are and how well the industry recieves you. Why don't you try it and see if it works for you? You'll have time to work for your dad then." Tasha said looking at Ty questioningly. Tyler smiled and replied "Trust me little lady, money is not an issue for me but I will give what you've said some thought. "That's great." Natasha smiled then asked "What kind of businesses does your dad own?" "I would love to stand here in the parking lot and chat with you further but I have to go." "Oh my! I'm so sorry to have taken up so much of your time." Tasha apologized as her eyes widened and she realizes that they had been talking for quite some time. "No need to be." He said. He reached into his pocket and took out a small card and handed it to her then said. "Meet me at Jacks Coffee Bar at 8pm tonight. We can finish this conversation there." Without giving Natasha a chance to respond, he strode to his car, got in and sped away.
