"How long are you going to be like this?" asked Harold. "Like what?" snapped Tyler. "All grumpy and miserable." Harold replied. " I'm neither grumpy nor miserable. I'm quite fine actually." said Tyler, looking down into the empty scotch glass he was holding. " Yea...of course you are." Harold replied. He looked at Tyler and frown then he said "I've been working for your family since before you were born. I know all your moods and this one means that something is terribly wrong but you won't say what it is." Tyler got up from the chair at his desk and went to look out the window. "You have to snap out of this foul mood that you're in." said Harold. Tyler turned his head and stared blankly at him. "Is it the girl?" pressed Harold. " You can call her, you know." he continued "Did she call today? asked Ty " No she hasn't." replied Harold. Tyler started to scowl as he turned to face the window again. It's been two months since his night with Tasha. He left in the morning before she was awake because he had discovered something that was supposed to be, in no way, possible. She had called him everyday. Morning and evening for the past four weeks and he had not answered or returned any of her calls. He had listened to all her messages but responded to none. The calls stopped coming three weeks ago and Tyler was feeling a pang of guilt in his heart. He thought of her everyday and wondered if she had forgotten about him. Harold cleared his throat to remind Tyler of his presence and to drag him back from deep inside his thoughts. What should I do?" Tyler asked " You should do one of two things. Either you call her back, or you let her go." replied Harold. He realized that this girl had somehow gotten under Tyler's skin but he wasn't sure how. He had seen Tyler with countless women but none of them affected him this way. All the others, he just toys with them. Sleeps with them a few times and when he became bored with them, he drains their blood. This one was different though. He didn't kill her after their night together but he hasn't seen her again. He does not take her calls but he doesn't seem to be anxious to be rid of her. "What is going on Tyler? Talk to me." Harold was not only his driver, he was also his bodyguard, confidante and friend. Tyler looked at Harold with sullen eyes. "What of the Silver Striders pack?" He asked. " They died almost eleven years ago in the Sahara Desert ambush. They became extinct that night." answered Harold. " Or so we think..." said Ty as he walked back to his desk. Harold look at him with wide eyes. " What do you mean Tyler?" he asked Ty said calmly, "She's a Strider." Harold looked at him in shock. " How can this be?" he asked "I don't know. " Ty answered. " Are you sure?" Harold pressed "I'm sure." Ty replied firmly "We have to tell your father!" exclaimd Harold. " I will have your head first!" Tyler shouted and bared his fangs. Harald took one look at him and realized that he was being sincere. He knew better than to cross Tyler so he bowed his head and asked weakly " What are you going to do then?" Tyler's reply was simply, "Nothing...for now."
