Ray and Adam got back to the New Hope police station and locked up the kidnappers in the local jail cells under Ace’s watchful eye. Next stop, Ray went to see Chief Stanley, while Adam filed a formal report.
Ray told him what happened while a medic took care of Moore’s dog bite injury and broken ribs.
“What do you mean William Moore kidn*pped Autumn and held Megan Harris captive?” the Chief blustered.
“He wanted to stop the wedding and Patty Myers, a.k.a. Brittany Farmer suggested Megan’s cabin as the perfect place to wait out the wedding date.”
“I’ll go talk to him. In the meantime, Barry Cromwell is in the interview room waiting for you. We’ll bring out Harry and Faith Halifax individually when you’re ready. Nice piece of work retrieving the murder weapon.”
“Thanks, Chief.”
