Autumn, Chrissy, Bea, and Stephanie Douglas, Autumn’s best friend and maid of honor, rode in Stephanie’s car into Center City, Philadelphia, to the bridal shop called With This Ring. The owner, Megan Harris, was an expert with antique wedding gowns and agreed to clean the gown Bea had found in the attic.
They parked in a garage a few doors down from the shop. Chrissy started sniffing as soon as Autumn put her down. The city had unfamiliar smells, and Chrissy took them all in. Head down, she found a little patch of grass to relieve herself before going into the bridal shop.
The pink and cream walls served as a backdrop to racks of sparkling gowns. Bea carried the gown in a zippered garment bag. A woman came from the back of the store wearing a pink suit, diamond broach on the lapel
