On 15 March, Cauchon and six others visited her in her cell. They asked her would she abide by the decision of the Church.
Joan replied, “Read the answers that I have given to all your questions and tell me if anything I have said is against the Christian faith. I will then ask my counsel.”
On another occasion, they asked yet again that she submit to the decisions of the Church.
She replied, “I refer myself to God who sent me, to Our Lady, and to all the blessed saints in Paradise. As I see it, God and the Church are one and the same thing, and you ought not to make difficulties over that. Why do you make difficulties about it?”
