Chapter 10

470 Words
“Miss Diana, Lady Victoria, the Madam requested your presence in the study,” the servant announced, bowing slightly. Diana glanced at Victoria, who raised an eyebrow with a small smile. “Looks like the Madam has something important for us,” Victoria whispered, leading the way. As they entered the study, Joanna was standing by the large oak desk, papers neatly stacked, her expression both serious and warm. Aaron sat beside her, observing silently, though his protective aura was unmistakable. “Diana, Victoria,” Joanna began, “I wanted to discuss the upcoming championship finals, but there’s more to it than that.” She motioned for them to sit. Diana’s curiosity piqued. “More to it than the finals, Madam?” “Yes,” Joanna said, leaning forward. “I’ve noticed… strange activity around you, Diana. There’s been movement in the kingdom—magical detection shows that certain powerful forces are aware of your presence. And I suspect some of them are connected to your real parents and the mysterious barrier around you.” Diana’s heart skipped. “The barrier? You mean the one you mentioned before that keeps my parents from finding me?” “Yes,” Joanna nodded. “It is stronger than anything I’ve seen, and it seems intentionally placed. Whoever did this wants to control your destiny, Diana—or at least keep it hidden until the time is right.” Victoria frowned. “So this isn’t just about the finals? Someone might be watching her?” Aaron finally spoke, his voice steady and serious. “Not just watching, Victoria. The same dark forces that abducted Diana as a baby are likely still out there. They could be planning something… dangerous.” Diana swallowed, the weight of the revelation settling on her shoulders. “So… I need to be careful? Even during the race?” Joanna gave her a reassuring smile. “Yes. You are strong, clever, and resilient—but this is bigger than skill or courage. I need you to be vigilant, Diana. Use your instincts, trust your powers, and… trust the people who love you.” Diana nodded. “I understand. I’ll be careful, and I’ll finish the finals… no matter what.” Aaron placed a firm hand on her shoulder. “And we’ll be right here, watching your back. But remember, this is only the beginning. Your journey… your destiny… is just starting, Diana.” Joanna finally said, “Now, prepare yourselves. The finals are two weeks away, and there’s training, strategy, and… something more I’ll explain soon. But for now, focus on being ready for the race.” Diana exchanged a glance with Victoria, determination shining in her purple eyes. She felt a spark of excitement, fear, and purpose all at once. Whatever came next, she would face it head-on.
