Ariana Cole knew something was wrong the moment she saw Michael Ethan’s face.
There was something different about him that morning. The man who had always looked at her with warmth and love now looked like someone carrying a pain too heavy to explain.
She stood across from him, waiting for him to speak.

For a few seconds, he said nothing.
He just looked at her.
