I awoke curled up in Miko's bed. Everything was fuzzy, my head was pounding. What happened? I asked my self bewildered by what had happened before I blacked out. "Oh, You're awake! Good!" The high pitched voice was familiar...Mai? I searched the room for her and found her sitting next to me.
"Now this is going to be a little strange, you might not believe me but...you're not what people would call Human" She spoke slowly and smoothly.
"What? You're not making any sense" I responded perplexed by what she'd just told me.
"Look I know this seems strange and, it is! but just trust me I'll even show you if you'd like!" Her voice seemed content, she almost seemed excited.
"What are you talking about...?" I asked, still bewildered.
"Here silly" She reached behind me and pulled something in front of me. The thing she'd just pulled in front of me seemed to be attached to my upper back.
It looked like a birds wing but, I was controlling it.
"See you have wings so you can't tell me that's normal right?" She questioned almost giggling.
My breathing accelerated. I felt somebody hug me from behind.
"Hey Eli, it's ok and, I promise. It's normal" Miko said in a soothing and reassuring voice.
I cuddled up to him, my wings wrapping around him subconsciously.
"S-So what a-am I?" I asked stuttering a little.
"Well, You're a mix between an angel and a demon! You are also something else...But I'm unsure what that something else is" Mai responded thinking for a second before focusing back on me. "But hey does it matter what you are?" She asked, smiling.
"I-I guess not" I replied more confused than before.
I stayed cuddled up to Miko, then I noticed a slight change. He seemed stronger and was holding onto me tighter, he was also taller but still just as cute as ever.
"I-Isuno?!" I sounded surprised and slightly sad. It was my older brother. We hadn't seen each other in 5 years and, I'm sure he hates me for throwing him out of the house, but I didn't want to see dad hurt him any more. I couldn't stand it. I glanced at him, he wasn't even looking at us.
"Hey...Long time no see..." His voice was dead and emotionless.
Just as I thought...he does hate me.
"H-Hey..." My voice was shaky and almost scared.
"What's wrong with you? It's not like I tossed out and abandoned you is it?!" His voice changed slightly now there was anger.
"I-I didn't w-want to see y-you get hurt a-anymore..." I was shaking now, Miko held me closer and tighter burying my face in his chest as tears began to fall down my face.
"Oh? Didn't want to see me hurt, huh? You were all I had...And you threw me out. Abandoned me. You left me alone." His voice was cold... His words felt like, icy spikes being plunged into me. I thought I was helping him. I didn't know I meant anything to him. But I guess that doesn't matter now. He won't believe me no matter what I say or do.
"I-I'm sorry,"
"Oh, You're sorry now, huh?! Well maybe you should think about others rather than being a selfish brat" He was almost yelling now.
More tears fell as I held onto Miko even more. He was petting me now trying to comfort me.
"S-Stop!" Miko's voice was loud. It almost sounded angry.
"Who said you could talk?" Isuno snapped.
"She thought she was doing the right thing! She wanted to help you! She was young then. She didn't understand that you might have felt different from what she thought you did." His voice was calm but still dominant.
"She still left me..." His voice was quieter now and sounded almost sad.
"Anyway, that's not what I'm here about..." He seemed to have calmed down now. His voice was still icy but not as emotionless anymore.
"I noticed you found out about your powers...And our father found out as well...He thinks you'll be a threat so...He's planning to get rid of you before you learn them." He sighed. "I'll help you this once but...Don't expect me to help you every time...You might have left me but, that doesn't change the fact that you're my little sister..." He seemed to have a small smile, seeming to remember something but that faded quickly.
"M-Mhm..." I was still crying, my voice still shaky.
"I'll also help teach you..." His voice was almost a sigh as he seemed annoyed at himself for saying this.
"O-Ok..." I was still crying, Miko hugged me tighter. I held onto him now cuddling up to him. Something about him made me calmer, he seemed to enjoy the fact that I was now holding onto him.
A few days had passed, I already knew how to use and aim with a small pistol. I didn't want to hurt anybody, I knew that if it came to it, I'd have to. And after all, we are going to fight my father. The same person who abused me for all those years... I had also learned a little about my powers but, not much. I knew how to teleport now, I couldn't go very far, I was always tired and weak after doing it but, it would help me get away if I had to. Miko was always there to comfort and help me. But ever since I have started using this new magic...I have been hearing voices and seeing people. They somewhat look like me just with some features changed... Long turquoise hair was sometimes blood red, black or even purple. Their eyes were also all different and, none of them the same as mine. They all had matching eye colours whereas mine was purple and blue. Most of them seemed friendly...And wanted to help me, but there were a few who disliked Miko and the others. They told me that "They'll betray you eventually" I didn't want to believe them but, something about they said was convincing, they seemed genuinely worried...
