Hunted

Running, Running, running. He was so close and getting closer inch by inch...I could feel his sickening gaze locked onto me. If he caught me he could easily overpower me, I am too weak to fight back now. I just had to get out of this place...I could feel my legs giving way before the cold numbness set in. The light was suddenly pulled up. Wait no...I was falling.  I hit the cold hard ground with a thud as he laughed "You ran for longer than I thought. You just weren't quick enough" I felt a rough tug on my hair as I was being dragged away from that light. That sweet light was fading, disappearing. He tossed me into a room before raising his fist and then darkness. I awoke...Lay in somebodies arms? Miko!? It was Miko...Then that must have been a dream right? "You alright Xavier?" His voice was serious yet still soft. "Yeah, I'm fine. He's pretty weak so" He replied. I had a short sigh of relief before seeing what had been done to me. Massive gaping wounds across my abdomen. I was covered from head to toe in cuts, red marks and bruising. My whole body started to ache as I thought about it. The blood dripping from my limp limbs. "How is she doing though?" Xavier asked still the same as in the hospital. "Not too great, I'm surprised she's still conscious. The amount of blood she must have lost is expediential. But I don't think we can get her back to the hospital in time. She's not a human that's for sure. She seems to be an unstable triple s rank so I'm assuming she's a goddess of some sort. She needs blood" Miko's voice sounded more serious yet he was still petting my hair. "Eli, you think you can just bite my arm sweetie?" Miko asked, his voice way softer. I nodded reluctantly. I hate hurting others. I gently bit into his arm. His flesh was warm and sweet tasting. His blood tangy. I drank a little and I could feel a sharp burning sensation where all the cuts were. They were burning closed and then slowly fading away. Miko was still petting my head and smiling at me. I drank a little more before pulling away. Not wanting him in a similar predicament to me. I was panting a little but his wound sealed nearly instantly and he kissed my forehead. He smiled sweetly before carrying me back to the hospital. He lay me back in my bed and sat back down in his chair. Xavier back near the door. I didn't like wasting their time but. I enjoy it when they are close by. It makes me feel more comfortable and I enjoy their company. They are so sweet and kind... I fell asleep fairly quickly. I was exhausted after today and for some reason, my body felt heavier and I felt a little sick. I curled up and closed my eyes. I awoke and Miko seemed to be quite confused and Xavier was laughing. It looked as if he could fall over and start howling at any moment. Then I saw what the issue was. My arms were wrapped tightly around him, holding him against me. I blushed a lot and let go quickly moving away and apologising profusely. "It's ok, you seemed to be fairly scared. I'm guessing you were having another nightmare so I understand?" He smiled sweetly after saying this as he glared at Xavier. Only causing him to laugh more as Miko took Xavier out of the room.  All I could hear was Miko yelling. Not properly yelling but in a friendly joking manner as Xavier kept laughing. I couldn't help but smile. I glanced around the room once again, silently listening to the two fooling around. A small black figure glanced through my window before ducking down and scuttling off. I slowly rose and walked over to the window. Curious as to what that thing or that person was. But I saw nothing. They were gone just as quick as they were there. But one thing bugged me. They looked similar to the one who was on my chest that night. Long brown hair with purple and cyan eyes.  The boys came in a while later and I was still stood at the window. Stuck in though, pondering whether it was just my imagination or somebody was actually watching me. Both were as bad as each other. Although I guess an actual person has more threat than my imagination...Right? I shook my head and turned to them. They were both still having playful banter but seemed slightly confused and worried about why I was just stood staring out of the window.  Miko walked over to me and gave me a gentle hug and asked. "What's up? I know something is bothering you" I just shrugged and buried my face in his chest. For some reason, this seemed oddly familiar yet I can't figure out why. I had never met him before this...How can this feel familiar if I'd been locked up for all those years? Or..Maybe he was one of the ones who came over occasionally? If he was surely he'd recognise me? I let out a sigh as Miko pet my hair. He was so kind and caring...Gentle. I felt comfortable around him even though I'd only known him for a few days... Xavier was still doing his rounds. He was more of a nurse than a doctor. Although he seemed to know quite a lot about what was going on with me and what the causes were. He always knew how to help. Whereas Miko was always with me. I'm guessing it's because he was the doctor set to look after me. He was a little more clueless than Xavier but amazing nevertheless. They were both always there for me when I was having hallucinations or when I was having panic attacks. They both came to my side and stayed with me until they were over. Both comforting me and holding me close, Miko was the more cuddly one of the two so he was the one who'd hold me. When I left though...Would I see them again?
