ACCALIA
The War Of Argos lasted for more than a month, the witches and werewolves fought till their last breath and still, both the sides were stubborn to not leave the grounds without sacrificing thousands of their kinds and resulting in a huge havoc. For what it seemed like, the werewolves were the one winning, and at the end of the month, they did taste victory.
We, who possessed no power, weren't the gifted ones, were seen as the most lowest rank and people only came to us for certain help. I was born to become a healer, since my very childhood, I had taken it upon my shoulders to heal people. And as the War broke out, several people have knocked at my door for help and didn't take anything in return.
I sat down near the tombstone of Ryrick, he was buried into the ground some weeks ago. And I terribly missed him. Ryrick was there for me when no one was, he helped me stand up on my feet again and couldn't even save him. A tear rolled down my eye, and I sniffle. "Oh dear, don't cry, Ryrick must be looking at you from up there, wishing that you weren't crying" Marissa, an old lady kept a hand on me and soothed my back.
If only I could turn the clock and bring him back, if I knew he was going to be teared apart, I would have never let him leave that night, never asked him to bring woods from the forest. Breaking into pool of tears, I wiped my face by my hands and found them to be covered by mud. Marissa took notice of it and took out a cloth from her skirt's pocket.
When she was done wiping my face and gave her a weak smile. "How could be someone be so brutal? Did you see how Ryrick's limbs were falled everywhere? How, why —"
"Oh my dear, calm down, Ryrick did not deserve it. He was such a sweet child. Ryrick will always be looking up at you from heaven, he will always be with you" Marissa patted my back, and I rubbed my running nose with my hand and let myself drown in numerous thoughts.
There were still beasts living on this planet.
"Come on, let's go. We need to heal a lot of people" Marissa gets up and I do the same. Giving Ryrick's tombstone a last glance before following Marissa who had already started to walk towards the village. When I stepped foot inside the village it was full of chaos, the war had left so many people homeless and injured. The witches were losing their magics and the werewolves were having silver in their system, highly toxic for them.
The healing house was loaded with patients, it was divided into two sections, werewolves and witches weren't kept in the same chambers. With small steps, I let my eyes linger around the hustle bustle made by the people. The shops were selling alcohol the most, some selling basic necessities to survive. Marissa was walking ahead of me and I saw Clyra rushing towards me.
"Where were you? I heard that beta Lucian was coming here for healing" My eyes widened. Beta Lucian was coming here to get treatment? That sounded absurd. Why would he come down to the village when the castle had better healers than anyone right here. Clyra dragged me by my hand towards the healing house. Pushing past several people as she held onto me tightly.
"Well, I have only seen him once in my entire life and I promise you that he was so handsome that I felt it in my ovaries" I scowl at her words. If anyone heard her right now, they would certainly think that she was insane. At times like this Ryrick would have teased Clyra to an extent where she would have thrown every little thing at him.
Clyra and I were soon standing where a lot of injured were lying on the beds. "This is Mave, I think she has a bit of silver in her blood, we tried transfiguration but we ran out of equipments" We ran out supplies? This has never happened before, centuries living here, healing people, seeing so many wars to break out, we never ran out of stuff. War Of Argos was definitely something else.
I took a step towards her, keeping my hand on her head to feel the heat crawling to my hand. She was burning with a high fever. We needed to save her before we couldn't do anything anymore. "Accalia, Lady Isodra requests you to come into her chambers" A voice spoke from behind me. It was Grezar, the helper of Lady Isodra.
Clyra was busy examining a patient in some distance when I left from the infirmary. Walking with my head held high, I run my fingers through my hair one more time before knocking at the door of Lady Isodra's room. Hearing her approval, I greeted her by keeping my head down and then meeting her eyes. "How are you coping up with Ryrick's death?"
"It's hard but I am trying my best to move on. It will take some time" Lady Isodra held a cup in her hand and she sipped her tea slowly, eyes fixed at me, examining me thoroughly. "Why don't you take s break? I think you need to clear your head before helping anyone to heal here. You can't concentrate better when you have so much on your mind" I gape at her, why was she doing this? When all the patients needed treatment and more healers meant helping more healed people, so why was Lady Isodra telling me to take a break, knowing that every single healer was precious?
"I don't think that's an wise idea, I think, staying here and helping you'll is what I wanna I do"
"Accalia, it's hard to lose someone you have grown up with, just trust me and take a break, it will help you regain some energy back which you probably never knew was lost. And we all are here to help everyone, you need not need to worry about us. I'm more worried about you at this moment" Lady Isodra keeps her cup onto the table and she graciously gets up, her long sleeved clothes hit the ground while she walks towards. Her neck is adored with pieces of diamonds and elegancy outshines her figure.
Placing a hand on my shoulder, she gives it a small squeeze. "Sometimes, all you need is some time alone and you don't understand how much you needed to take off some time for yourself unless you do so" And I let those words sink deep within me.

Taking out the clothes from my bag, I placed them neatly into the closet provided to me. Lady Isodra was generous enough to provide a cottage to me into the deep forest. It was silent and peaceful here. A guard had escorted me to this place, I had told Clyra about it before I came here and she was as well surprised at the fact she had been so generous towards me.
I've heard rumours run across the infirmary that I was the favourite of Lady Isodra, but they were wrong, so very wrong.
Lady Isodra would feel anything towards me but not the feeling of affection towards me. From past several years, she had been too harsh and rude too me, it didn't bother me much until one time when I was able to provide oxygen to a patient, she lashed out too hard at me and cursed me multiple times. I had thought it was a way to make me learn but when I learnt from her trusted people that she wanted me to be out of the infirmary, maybe this was her plan to kill me.
I wasn't afraid of death, no I wasn't, I never would be.
Atleast I would die after saving so many souls. Taking a deep breath in, I turn to look outside and find a slow paced stream moving down the way. It didn't take me long enough to decide to want to take a bath. So I stripped out of my clothes, I was already deep within the forest, no one was around, no one knew this place expect from Lady Isodra.
Stepping inside the river, I let the cold water surround me and the warmth left me immediately. My teeths chattered, my body was trying to cope up with the coldness. Turning around, I was met with a pair of golden eyes, the reflection was from the other side, the small ripples in the water made it blurry for me to look at the face properly but it wasn't a person, it looked like a beast.
I pivoted towards the other side to catch who was watching me while I bathed but to my dismay, I found no one. My eyes ran over several trees but there was no trace of someone being here, watching me.
Was I going crazy?
