Forming groups

~Aaron~ "I think the best thing to do next is organize our troops into groups of five to patrol the boarder in order to watch the outcasts. With groups of 5 each group will have enough warriors if someone needs to go to the bathroom or run information back to us without leaving the boarder weak. " Chase stated mater of factly laying out a few notebook paper pages and post it notes with warrior names. I watched as she strategically placed the troops in groups of five. Frowning I shook my head causing a growl to come from the future Luna. "Do you have something to say Alpha?" Clearly her wolf was loose because Chase was much more in control of her rage. "I noticed that you put yourself, me, Lilly, Katie, and Bryan in the same group." I wanted to be as careful as possible hoping not to offend the Moonlight pack. "Yeah and?" She growled crossing her arms. I looked around the room and noticed the others begin to realize what I had. "Well, you put the future Luna, current Beta's, future Gamma and an Alpha on the same group making that group immensely more powerful than the other groups. If the outcast's chose to attack when a weaker group is rotating, they could break through easily." "None of our troops are weak." She watched me carefully as I took the sticky notes and rearranged the troops placing myself, Chase, Bryan and Lilly at the lead of four groups. "Where is Katie?" "I honestly do not think that Bryan is going to allow his pregnant mate to patrol the boarder while there are outcasts knocking at the front door. I also think it is unreasonable to expect her to patrol and if we placed them in a group together Bryan could become distracted by his mate that the outcasts could find an opening to enter." I stopped my speech to see if anyone was going to disagree, but I noticed that they were all nodding in agreement. Bryans arms actually relaxed around Katies waist, and he sighed softly relaxing. I guess the Beta was not going to argue with his future Luna, but he did not like the idea of Katie in the middle of battle. I saw Chase sigh and sit down in her chair her wolf finally retreating. "With all due respect Alpha Aaron," Avery interrupted standing. "You are a guest in our pack and considering the things that Chase has told us happened to her in her youth we cannot trust you to be the lead of a group. It is meant as no offense but for all we know you could have led the outcasts to us or are trying to find a way for them to enter our territory." I growled slightly trying to calm Jason. 'THEY THINK WE MEAN THEM HARM!' he practically screamed in my ear ready to rip them apart for even suggesting that we would do that. 'Calm down Jason. they are making sure that their people are safe, and we cannot fault them for that.' I growled at him, 'This is not the moment to get defensive. We are trying to help them and to do that we have to stay on their good side.' Jason grumbled and walked in a circle before plopping down in my mind in surrender. Now that he was quiet, I was able to think and moved two of the post-it notes. I placed myself in Lilly's group and moved Ralph to where I had been. "I remember in passing hearing at dinner last night that Ralph was your second in command and that he took over trainings when Cam is sick." I saw Chase nod, but something flashed in her eyes, and I swear it was jealousy. "Shouldn't we put you in my group. I am the only one next to Avery that can overpower you if you were to double cross us." I grinned at the thought that she could overpower me. 'Maybe in bed but not in battle' Jason snickered in my mind making me blush. Coughing softly, I returned my attention to the list of patrol groups. "You are a future Luna; Bryan is a current Beta and Lilly is a future Gamma. Out of the three of you my ability as an Alpha would counterbalance Lilly’s more than yours. If I went into either yours or Bryan's groups, then we would have the same imbalance in powers that existed in the original groups. Besides the fact that I think Lilly is more than capable of capturing me if did double cross you." I watched them all cautiously and saw that they all nodded in agreement even Lilly frowned but nodded. I was not trying to offend her, but Lilly was still in training which meant that she was not as strong as the others. Along with the fact that Gammas are naturally more emotional than Betas and Alphas/ Lunas. "Okay then I will pass out the assignments and the first group, Luna Avery's, will begin patrol after dinner. We will rotate every twelve hours." The way that Chase was taking charge did something to me and I couldn't help but grow hot under my collar. I couldn't help but stare at her lips as she talked and imagine her hands on me as she grabbed the group lists in her arms. My mind flashed to us on my couch that morning and I had to adjust my pants as I relived her moans over and over again. Man, how I wanted her to be under me once more grabbing at my clothes... Okay this train of thought needed to stop before I became unable to leave the meeting table. Shaking my head in an attempt to clear my head I stood from the table. "Would you like help at training today? I haven't spared in a day, and I am starting to feel out of shape." Chase grinned almost evilly, "If you think you can keep up Alpha. We meet in the dining hall." Everyone said their goodbyes and left the room leaving Chase and I alone, "You train inside... what is the hot air outside too hard for you. You need the air conditioning to battle. You know the enemy will not wait for a nice day to attack right?" She smirked laughing softly, "Oh Alpha if you chose to come you are in for a rude awakening." She shook her head and moved to go past me, but I instinctively pulled her against my chest. Feeling her back against my front made my wolf calm and my soul hum. "Let go Aaron..." She whispered softly. I slowly began to notice how she started to shake in my arms. Suddenly her skin grew hot, and I let go of her swearing I saw her skin begin to glow. Once I let go, I saw her take a few deep breaths to calm herself before she turned to look at me again. "Aaron... I know that we... Kissed. However, I have a pack to take over and neither one of us can afford this distraction right now. You are Alpha of your pack, and I am the future Luna of mine. You cannot leave your pack and I will not leave mine. Whatever you think could or might happen here with me... it won't." I frowned softly looking down at her and moved slowly cupping her cheek. "So, because of our status you won’t even take a day to... feel this? I cannot be the only one who feels something when I look at you Chase." She shook her head, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath taking in my scent. "Aaron... This cannot happen and what is the point of exploring it knowing that it cannot go further than this trip to my pack? I do not want to do that to you, me, or Cam. If you hang around and he gets attached to you while I know that you are not saying, then that would simply be cruel to him. It does not matter what I feel for you I am a Luna first and above that I am a mother." I nodded softly when she was done knowing that it was not a good idea to argue with her. I knew she felt what I felt when we kissed the wetness on my leg as we kissed was evidence of that. I also knew that if she was trying this hard to deny the attraction she felt for me, that she had a good reason. I wish I knew what Avery meant earlier when she talked about the bad things that had happened to Chase at my pack... but above all else I wish I could change her mind. However, she was right I was an Alpha and she is a future Luna. ~Chase~ I watched Aaron for a minute before he nodded accepting what I had told him. Slowly I took a deep breath and smiled half-heartedly at him, "I should get going. Training starts in 45 minutes now and I still have to get Cam dinner and to Lilly's before I meet our warriors." Not waiting for his response, I left the meeting hall as quickly as my legs would carry me ran towards my cabin. Once I was safe within my cabin, I allowed myself to shed tears that I had been trying desperately to keep inside. Why had I allowed that kiss to happen earlier? Why had I pushed him away! Why couldn't I be daring for once in my life and explore this spark I felt with Aaron? I moved towards my bathroom deciding I needed to be productive as I got ready to go to training. I had lied to Aaron knowing that Cam was already at Lilly's since I had mind linked her to grab him from school as soon as she left the meeting room. I had warrior training every Tuesday, so this was our normal routine regardless of everything going on. I raised my head to examine the mess my face must be in now and was shocked to see that my skin was practically glowing. GLOWING!!! What was going on I had been feeling a few weird things over the last few days, but I thought I was imagining them. 'It is a manifistation of our true power little one.' Ash whispered in my mind and I looked upon my reflection seeing that my skin looked like it had a halo around it. I couldn't ignore this sign. Something was changing within me, and I wasn't sure if it scared me or intrigued. Taking a deep breath, I steadied my nerves noticing that the glow slowly faded, and my natural skin tone returned. Shaking my head, I chose to simply move on from this discovery and get dressed. I pulled on short yoga shorts and a sports bra, pulled my hair into a high ponytail and headed to the dining hall. I smirked as I saw my warriors setting up all our equipment and I made a few changes to the obstacle course. I liked to change it up so that no one got too comfortable with the course. Right on time I saw Aaron enter the dining hall in a pair of Bryans thick track pants and a sweatshirt. The guys must have given him a few clothes since we did not have any local stores that had sizes in "Alpha" sizes. All of the men around me started chuckling and a malicious smile grew across my face. "What is everyone laughing at?" Aaron looked confused. "Oh, you'll see. Liam Crank it!" I shouted at our current alpha and watched Aarons face as he realized his mistake. "You see Alpha we train inside because this building is soundproof, and we will not disrupt others. The children also cannot get in our way. Also, if a neighboring pack was to find us, they would not know our true strength. As for the temp well, we do not train with the A/c on. In reality, we turn the heater on to 105 degrees Fahrenheit. It is always better to train in the harshest conditions rather than a pampered one." Aaron chuckled softly removing his sweater showing me the abs that had been flashing in my mind since this morning. "So, you remember the words I said to you when you snuck into training when you were 15. Well, bring it on little Luna. I have been training for a lot longer than you Cha-Cha." With his challenge clear I had a feeling that training tonight would be one to remember.
