"You should get used to me, I joke dirty princess, okay what do you want? I'll bring it." He pulls on an apologetic look and I find myself smiling as I take his hand in mine under the table. I squeeze it and then drops it looking back at him. "I Know you were kidding c'mon." "But you were so hell bent on getting your own food." He replies simpering at me. " I needed a reaction actually, so here take the money." I give him the money but he pushes it back to me. "No, I don't want your money. You asked Cam for your Tacos, is that not enough?" "Yes, but I also want some cold vanilla ice cream and white velvet cake. I feel like snacking will you get me that please?" I beg with my eyes and he nods leering at me. "Of course princess." With that, he gets up and joins others in the line. The girls have already placed their orders and now we're left alone. Aimee scoots closer to me from her seat and she takes Ballice's seat. "Why did it took much time getting him to bring you lunch?" She asks me propping her elbows on the table. "He's stubborn, you don't know him." I answer her smiling. "I know this school is so big with numerous students, how come I've never seen you around though?" "We're from different blocks, I'm a junior so there's more possibilities for us not to see each other." She replies casually smiling softly at me. "Makes sense, you're following your brother around, aren't you?" I ask tilting my head slightly at her and she shakes her head laughing. "That's the last thing I'll do, oh trust me." "Why so?" I ask propping an elbow too at the table and I lean my head on my palm facing her. "He's mean to me sometimes, siblings rivalry you know?" She giggles and I nod in agreement giggling too. "So you were born after him I bet right?" She nods and I can't stop my questions. "How older?" Stuffing the words out is easier than controlling them. "Heeey why are you bombarding my sister in law with so many questions? give her a break please!" Cam pats her palms at the table lightly and I roll my eyes assuming her as I turn back to Aimee. "Two years, don't ask me why, he's just a class ahead, he's 19 and I'm 17, you know boys... Huh? " I brush her off and I start laughing. "Yeah sure I completely get it. So you're just our age mate I see." I say turning back to look at Cam. " Your sister in law? You're so sure, aren't you Cam?" "Of course she is, and I like her, I just hope she'll stick around, forever." Aimee answers instead and I can't like her any better. " You heard her." Cam adds giving me a triumph look. "Are you 17 too?" Aimee asks looking at Tif and Cam then back to me. "Yeah, I'll be turning 18 April next year, Cam will turn 18 October this year same to Tiffany but for her, it will be on 25th December, Christmas baby." I wink at Tif but she just sticks her tongue out at me. "Aaaaww baby Jesus." Aimee praises casting Tiffany a sweet smile which she gladly offers back to her. "Nella's birthday was last Saturday, she's a July baby, that's when she turned 17." Cam says. Oh that's when we were at the fair last Saturday. " Not just a July baby. I was born on the fourth of July." Aimee adds proudly. " When we got independence in the US, oh God I've some history in me, year 1776!" I exclaim and they all chuckle. Shortly Tif's angelic voice fills the air around us. Of course she's a music student. And we watch her sing in awe. " You and I were, you and I were fire. You and I were, you and I were fire. You and I were, you and I were fire, fire, fire! It was the fourth of July... help me sing fourth of July by fall out boy giiiiirrrrlsss!" Tif squeals excitedly and Aimee starts singing first and we join her. Not caring a bit we're in the cafeteria. Oh God we're crazy bitten, whipped actually. "It was the Fourth of July You and I were, you and I were fire, fire, fireworks That went off too soon And I miss you in the June gloom, too It was the Fourth of July You and I were, you and I were fire, fire, fireworks I said I'd never miss you But I guess you never know May the bridges I have burned light my way back home On the Fourth of July" We all sing and I hear some one curse. Didn't notice my eyes were closed when we were singing. I snap them open to see the boys looking at us huge grins plastered on their faces, my heart skips a beat when Ballice picks up after winking at me. And he sings his eyes not leaving mine his voice driving me to the edge. "I'll be as honest as you let me I miss your early morning company If you get me You are my favorite "what if" You are my best "I'll never know" And I'm starting to forget Just what summer ever meant to you What did it ever mean to you?" Those lines almost drives me out of my mind and I think back to the day we spent our morning together on his bed. Wait it's just a song Tee, yes subconscious I know. I smile at him, a sincere smile and immediately after he stops Jelton picks up his voice making Cam squeal excitedly and I notice students starting to gather around our table. Nobody cares we take this miraculous moment in. We lavish it. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean any of it I just got too lonely, lonely, whoa In between being young and being right You were my Versailles at night." Jelton sings that small part looking at Cam lovingly with a smile. And we all join in. The boys have put the food on the table and everyone is in a singing mode, even Morgan and Nard are now singing. "It was the Fourth of July You and I were, you and I were fire, fire, fireworks That went off too soon And I miss you in the June gloom, too It was the Fourth of July You and I were, you and I were fire, fire, fireworks I said I'd never miss you But I guess you never know May the bridges I have burned light my way back home On the Fourth of July." After that, Dubel surprises everybody by picking on the next part. He closes his eyes and lives the moment in that part. "My 9 to 5 is cutting open old scars Again and again 'til I'm stuck in your head Had my doubts, but I let them out You are the drought And I'm the holy water you have been without And all my thoughts of you They could heat or cool the room And no, don't tell me you cried Oh, honey, you don't have to lie." He opens his eyes and winks at Tif who f*****g swoons. This moment can't be any sweet oh God. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean any of it I just got too lonely, lonely, whoa In between being young and being right You were my Versailles at night." Jelton sings that part like it's exactly meant for him. After him everyone sings next. "It was the Fourth of July You and I were, you and I were fire, fire, fireworks That went off too soon And I miss you in the June gloom, too It was the Fourth of July You and I were, you and I were fire, fire, fireworks I said I'd never miss you But I guess you never know May the bridges I have burned light my way back home On the Fourth of July." Never knew everybody knows fourth of July by fall out boy. It's among my favourite songs and I know it's whole lyrics like my names. I know each and every syllable in it by heart. "I wish I'd known how much you loved me I wish I cared enough to know I'm sorry every song's about you The torture of small talk with someone you used to love." Nard sings that part and I swear his voice is almost the same as Ballice's. I'm surprised even. Both Aimee and I smile at him and he also smiles back singing. Now everyone is recording us on their phones but we don't give a damn. How confident! We sing the last part and we're being joined with some students from the gathering who knows the song. My eyes rock again with Ballice's and he smiles at me while singing showing me a thumb up , I wink at him simpering back too. "It was the Fourth of July You and I were, you and I were fire, fire, fireworks That went off too soon And I miss you in the June gloom, too It was the Fourth of July You and I were, you and I were fire, fire, fireworks I said I'd never miss you But I guess you never know May the bridges I have burned light my way back home On the Fourth of July"
